Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based bi-modal salient object detection (BSOD) aims to segment salient objects in a scene utilizing complementary cues in unaligned RGB and thermal image pairs. However, the high computational expense of existing UAV-based BSOD models limits their applicability to real-world UAV devices. To address this problem, we propose an efficient Fourier filter network with contrastive learning that achieves both real-time and accurate performance. Specifically, we first design a semantic contrastive alignment loss to align the two modalities at the semantic level, which facilitates mutual refinement in a parameter-free way. Second, inspired by the fast Fourier transform that obtains global relevance in linear complexity, we propose synchronized alignment fusion, which aligns and fuses bi-modal features in the channel and spatial dimensions by a hierarchical filtering mechanism. Our proposed model, AlignSal, reduces the number of parameters by 70.0%, decreases the floating point operations by 49.4%, and increases the inference speed by 152.5% compared to the cutting-edge BSOD model (i.e., MROS). Extensive experiments on the UAV RGB-T 2400 and three weakly aligned datasets demonstrate that AlignSal achieves both real-time inference speed and better performance and generalizability compared to sixteen state-of-the-art BSOD models across most evaluation metrics. In addition, our ablation studies further verify AlignSal's potential in boosting the performance of existing aligned BSOD models on UAV-based unaligned data. Physics-based fluid simulation has played an increasingly important role in the computer graphics *** methods in this area have greatly improved the generation of complex visual effects and its computational *** techniques have emerged to deal with complex boundaries,multiphase fluids,gas-liquid interfaces,and fine *** parallel use of machine learning,image processing,and fluid control technologies has brought many interesting and novel research *** this survey,we provide an introduction to theoretical concepts underpinning physics-based fuid simulation and their practical implementation,with the aim for it to serve as a guide for both newcomers and seasoned researchers to explore the field of physics-based fuid simulation,with a focus on developments in the last *** by the distribution of recent publications in the field,we structure our survey to cover physical background;discretization approaches;computational methods that address scalability;fuid interactions with other materials and interfaces;and methods for expressive aspects of surface detail and *** a practical perspective,we give an overview of existing implementations available for the above methods.

Enterprises are often concerned about disasters, particularly accidents involving personnel. Therefore, there is ongoing research dedicated to safeguarding the safety of employees within enterprises. In recent years, with the continuous development of machine vision technology, industry and academia have been working to adopt machine vision methods to address safety hazards in workers' production. Machine vision applications are still being researched for specific sectors and lack generalization. Algorithms commonly face issues of high computational complexity and demanding hardware requirements. This paper adopts the lightweight YOLOV5 as the baseline algorithm and enhances its accuracy using a receptive field attention mechanism. SeNet is introduced to improve the generalization of object detection, and IDetect Head is employed to increase the efficiency of the detection head. Ultimately, the algorithm's accuracy is enhanced by 3.7%, and mAP50 is increased by 3.0%. This algorithm can be deployed to Internet of Things (IoT) machine vision terminals, reducing deployment costs and improving monitoring efficiency. © 2024 SPIE.

This Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), facilitates the medical stop regarding real-time monitoring of patients, medical emergency management, remote surgery, patient information management, medical equipment, drug monitoring, etc. However, IoMT devices communicate with each other in an open environment that makes them vulnerable to a wide range of malicious threats from malicious entities. To protect the devices and their associated data, we designed a broadcast authentication scheme for IoMT devices using identity-based public key cryptography that exploits the lightweight features of the Hyper-Elliptic Curve (HEC). We then performed the security analysis based on the Random Oracle Model (ROM), in which we have proved that the proposed scheme is unforgeable under the hardiness of the hyperelliptic curve discrete logarithm problem. The proposed scheme is analyzed in terms of computational and communication overhead and the experimental results justify the superiority of the proposed work in comparison to the existing schemes. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an Arabic Alphabet Sign Language recognition approach, using deep learning methods in conjunction with transfer learning and transformer-based models. We study the performance of the different variants on two publicly available datasets, namely ArSL2018 and AASL. This task will make full use of state-of-the-art CNN architectures like ResNet50, MobileNetV2, and EfficientNetB7, and the latest transformer models such as Google ViT and Microsoft Swin Transformer. These pre-trained models have been fine-tuned on the above datasets in an attempt to capture some unique features of Arabic sign language motions. Experimental results present evidence that the suggested methodology can receive a high recognition accuracy, by up to 99.6% and 99.43% on ArSL2018 and AASL, respectively. That is far beyond the previously reported state-of-the-art approaches. This performance opens up even more avenues for communication that may be more accessible to Arabic-speaking deaf and hard-of-hearing, and thus encourages an inclusive society.

Many studies show that bearings are the most vulnerable components in low-voltage motors. While advanced bearing diagnostic systems exist, their cost can be a barrier for non-critical machinery due to the potential wait time to see a return on investment. This research explores the feasibility of using basic signal processing techniques on vibration data for bearing condition monitoring. The primary goal is to analyze benchmark data from the Case Western Reserve university (CWRU) dataset and establish a baseline performance for this data-driven approach. The results suggest that, with appropriate signal processing, it's possible to achieve early detection of bearing faults, leading to more efficient time-To-fault identification with higher detection accuracies ranging from 83 % to 100 % for each method. © 2024 IEEE.

Thousands of individuals succumb annually to leukemia alone. As artificial intelligence-driven technologies continue to evolve and advance, the question of their applicability and reliability remains unresolved. This study aims to utilize image processing and deep learning methodologies to achieve state-of-the-art results for the detection of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) using data that best represents real-world scenarios. ALL is one of several types of blood cancer, and it is an aggressive form of leukemia. In this investigation, we examine the most recent advancements in ALL detection, as well as the latest iteration of the YOLO series and its performance. We address the question of whether white blood cells are malignant or benign. Additionally, the proposed models can identify different ALL stages, including early stages. Furthermore, these models can detect hematogones despite their frequent misclassification as ALL. By utilizing advanced deep learning models, namely, YOLOv8, YOLOv11, ResNet50 and Inception-ResNet-v2, the study achieves accuracy rates as high as 99.7%, demonstrating the effectiveness of these algorithms across multiple datasets and various real-world situations. © 2025, CC0.

data quality issues are still a challenge in data migration. Existing methods mainly focus on technical issues. However, the problem of data quality is not only a technical problem, but the main one is the non-technical aspect. This paper aims to identify the role of data governance in the data migration process. The qualitative research method uses two primary references, namely the high-level data migration approach from Kazimir et al. and the DAMA-DMBOK framework. Both are highly compatible with data migration processes focusing on data quality and referencing governance roles. The case study was conducted in a central government working on data migration to the new One data application. The results show that eight data governance roles are involved in 20 migration processes (65%). Non-technical activities related to data quality involve more than half of the data migration process. This paper proposes the role of data governance for non-technical aspects of the migration process. This paper presents a case study of the high-level data migration process and how data governance comes into play. This research can help the government and practitioners overcome problems that often occur in data migration, especially related to data quality. © The Author(s) 2024.

The rapid advancement of technology has revolutionized the way organizations operate, resulting in the widespread adoption of Management Information Systems (MIS) as a crucial tool in decision-making processes. This research paper presents a comprehensive review of the effectiveness of Management Information Systems in facilitating decision-making within various organizational contexts. The paper begins with an exploration of the fundamental role of MIS in collecting, processing, and presenting relevant data to decision-makers. Emphasis is placed on understanding how MIS enables the integration of data from diverse sources and transforms it into actionable insights, empowering managers to make informed and timely decisions. Furthermore, this review delves into the different types of Management Information Systems, including Executive Information Systems (EIS), Decision Support Systems (DSS), and Transaction Processing Systems (TPS). By analyzing case studies and real-world examples, the paper highlights the specific applications and benefits of each system type in enhancing decision-making efficiency and accuracy. To assess the effectiveness of MIS in decision-making, the review examines key performance indicators, such as the speed and accuracy of decision-making processes, resource optimization, and overall organizational performance. The role of MIS in improving strategic planning, risk management, and competitive advantage is also thoroughly investigated. Additionally, the review explores potential challenges and limitations associated with the implementation and utilization of MIS in decision-making. Factors such as data security, system reliability, user training, and resistance to change are addressed, offering insights into strategies for mitigating these obstacles. The paper concludes with a synthesized analysis of the existing literature and identifies gaps for future research in the field of Management Information Systems and decision-making effectiveness
