THE development of agriculture faces significant challenges due to population growth, climate change, land depletion, and environmental pollution, threatening global food security [1]. This necessitates the development of sustainable agriculture, where a fundamental step is crop breeding to improve agronomic or economic traits, e.g., increasing yields of crops while decreasing resource usage and minimizing pollution to the environment [2].

This article presents developments by its authors: the IndustrialKit library package and the RCWorkspace application based on it. The library allows developers of third-party applications to use the functionality of programming and modeling robotic technological complexes in their products. The object-oriented concept of the package provides opportunities for offline training of manipulation robots in a developed simulation environment, subsequent transfer and launch of programs on real robots, organization of feedback control and obtaining statistical data from industrial equipment - common models of robots and various equipment devices, which is achieved through a unified structure of program modules. The connection of external visual models of production system components - robots, tools and parts - is demonstrated. An example of performing the task of assembling parts with spline joints is also given. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an original theoretical framework to model steel material properties in continuous casting line process. Specific properties arising from non-Newtonian dynamics are herein used to indicate the natural convergence of distributed parameter systems to fractional order transfer function models. Data driven identification from a real continuous casting line is used to identify model of the electromagnetic actuator device to control flow velocity of liquid steel. To ensure product specifications, a fractional order control is designed and validated on the system. A projection of the closed loop performance onto the quality assessment at end production line is also given in this paper.

This study introduces a model-based predictive controller to drive an omnidirectional robot to a specific location within a logistic environment. An object map is obtained from a LIDAR sensor. The proposed control structure enhances the safety, optimality, and efficiency of the trajectory of the omnidirectional mobile robot. The study employs simulation techniques of the kinematics and dynamics of the robot to assess the efficacy of a predictive control approach. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

This paper proposes the analysis of the material can be protected from transformer testing and presents a mathematical model of the power transformer. In this research, transformers were study in four protective materials, wood, rubber, glass and acrylic that are used in between the electric field measurement and the transformer. By simulating the test results of a transformer with a voltage of 230 kV. Computer-based simulation utilizing the finite element method (FEM) is exploited as a tool for visualizing electric fields distribution volume a power transformer. The simulation results showed that the material with the best protection against the electric field was wood insulation and the best installation location was a distance of 5 m from the transformer. © 2023 IEEE.

Polyphonic sound event localization and detection based on Multiple Attention Fusion ResNet

Sound event localization and detection have been applied in various fields. Due to the polyphony and noise interference, it becomes challenging to accurately predict the sound event and their occurrence locations. Aiming at this problem, we propose a Multiple Attention Fusion ResNet, which uses ResNet34 as the base network. Given the situation that the sound duration is not fixed, and there are multiple polyphonic and noise, we introduce the Gated Channel Transform to enhance the residual basic block. This enables the model to capture contextual information, evaluate channel weights, and reduce the interference caused by polyphony and noise. Furthermore, Split Attention is introduced to the model for capturing cross-channel information, which enhances the ability to distinguish the polyphony. Finally, Coordinate Attention is introduced to the model so that the model can focus on both the channel information and spatial location information of sound events. Experiments were conducted on two different datasets, TAU-NIGENS Spatial Sound Events 2020, and TAU-NIGENS Spatial Sound Events 2021. The results demonstrate that the proposed model significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods under multiple polyphonic and noise-directional interference environments and it achieves competitive performance under a single polyphonic environment. ©2024 the Author(s), licensee AIMS Press. With the development of artificial intelligence, home service robots have been widely applied in daily life. As one of the fundamental functions of service robots, object grasping helps improve the level of unmanned and intelligent household. However, traditional robots still face challenges in flexibility and accuracy in complex home environments. In this paper, an object recognition and grasp detection system in complex scenarios for home service robots is proposed. The system consists of four modules: image acquisition, human-machine interaction software, RGB-D image processing, and robot control. The image acquisition module captures RGB and depth images of the work area and sends them to the software. The RGB-D image processing module begins with object recognition to obtain object categories and bounding box with the help of YOLOv8. The target point cloud is produced by combining the target subimage and corresponding depth information, followed by depth completion and plane expansion. Then the processed point cloud is fed into a Graspnet pose estimation network to calculate the 6D grasping pose for service robot. And finally, the robot control module is invoked to carry out the corresponding target grasping action. To evaluate the performance, an experimental platform for home service robot is built to grasp various daily necessities. The results tell that the average accuracy for object recognition reaches up to 98.3%, the success rate for single-target grasping is 94.4%, and the success rate for multi-target grasping can achieve 80%. © 2024 IEEE.

TheUAV pursuit-evasion problem focuses on the efficient tracking and capture of evading targets using unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),which is pivotal in public safety applications,particularly in scenarios involving intrusion monitoring and *** address the challenges of data acquisition,real-world deployment,and the limited intelligence of existing algorithms in UAV pursuit-evasion tasks,we propose an innovative swarm intelligencebased UAV pursuit-evasion control framework,namely“Boids Model-based DRL Approach for Pursuit and Escape”(Boids-PE),which synergizes the strengths of swarm intelligence from bio-inspired algorithms and deep reinforcement learning(DRL).The Boids model,which simulates collective behavior through three fundamental rules,separation,alignment,and cohesion,is adopted in our *** integrating Boids model with the Apollonian Circles algorithm,significant improvements are achieved in capturing UAVs against simple evasion *** further enhance decision-making precision,we incorporate a DRL algorithm to facilitate more accurate strategic *** also leverage self-play training to continuously optimize the performance of pursuit *** experimental evaluation,we meticulously designed both one-on-one and multi-to-one pursuit-evasion scenarios,customizing the state space,action space,and reward function models for each *** simulations,supported by the PyBullet physics engine,validate the effectiveness of our proposed *** overall results demonstrate that Boids-PE significantly enhance the efficiency and reliability of UAV pursuit-evasion tasks,providing a practical and robust solution for the real-world application of UAV pursuit-evasion missions.

This article presents the development of electric motor torque meter using microcontroller together with dynamometer process and application of light process to find out revolutions per minute (RPM) which torque is a variable that affects the effectiveness of electrical machine. A torque meter is, therefore, a tool that has an important role to work with mechanical part. The torque meter and RPM was tested and found that there is an error of torque measure at 13.74 percent and found that the torque has higher errors when it exceeds 2 N-m and there is an error of RPM at 5.36 percent. © 2024 IEEE.
