Since the onset of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, modern industrial plants have become increasingly complex, leading to a growing demand for specialized information systems to manage their operations. Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is a popular tool which can be used to manage physical assets maintenance in a factory. While the current implementations of CMMS in small and medium specialized manufacturing plants improves many aspects of maintenance operations such as increased productivity, better planning, there are many enhancements that could be made in term of efficiency, extensibility,... This paper proposes a CMMS solution that, in addition to typical CMMS main features, focus on creating an open interface following ISA-95 for easy integration into other manufacturing management systems and enterprise level software, as well as improving user productivity through the use of automatic scheduling based on Tabu Search algorithm. The results from a plastic manufacturing plant indicate that the proposed solution can significantly reduce scheduling efforts while maintaining scheduling constraints and quality. © 2024 IEEE.

This article initially presents the working principle of electromagnetic switching devices and the significance of the contact system, distinguishing contact vibration into contact closure bounce and contact release rebound. It emphasizes that these phenomena are crucial factors influencing the lifespan and reliability of electrical devices. Subsequently, through the analysis of domestic and international literature, the paper discusses the academic community's progress in understanding and improving these vibration phenomena. The study shows that closure bounce and release rebound are affected by factors such as structural parameters and the contact engagement method. Notably, scholars have proposed innovative solutions, such as employing the principle of eccentric impact with inclined stationary contacts to suppress closure bounce, and adding limit stop plates between moving and stationary contact leaves to significantly mitigate release rebound, thereby markedly improving the appearance of contact vibration. Finally, the paper summarizes the current state of research on contact vibration in electromagnetic switches, pointing out the deficiencies in existing studies. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Hydrothermal vent areas are unique ecosystems with high productivity and high biodiversity that are subject to ongoing research. Hydrothermal vents form in areas with increased magmatic activity where superheated, mineral rich water leaks from the seafloor. Due to the rapid cooling of the water the metal sulfides precipitate and form a black or white plume that can be sensed several hundred meters away from the vent source. Finding and reliably following such plumes with autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) is a challenging task since the plume does not have a smooth concentration gradient but lots of local patches due to the turbulent particle flow. This paper presents an algorithm that combines biology inspired chemotaxis with Unscented Kalman filter (UKF) based extremum seeking control (ESC). The effectiveness is demonstrated by a simulation of a physics-based AUV model in a turbulent 3D Plume model. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

The bifurcation behaviors of coupled Andronov-Hopf oscillators is analyzed. For this, an analytic solution of the bifurcation point of two linear, static coupled Andronov-Hopf oscillators is provided. This solution is rearranged so that the bifurcation can be interpreted geometrically by maximizing the area of an triangle defined by the system parameters. This geometric interpretation serves as the basis to address a network of linear, static coupled Andronov-Hopf oscillators, where a rather simple solution for the bifurcation point can be determined depending on a simple tree topology. With this, implications about the synchronization of this class of networks can be deduced. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

In dynamic optimization problems where optimal solutions change over time, traditional ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithms face limitations. This study explores the adaptation of multi-colony ACO algorithms, known for their enhanced search capabilities in stationary problems, to tackle optimization problems in dynamic environments. Various strategies for exchanging information between colonies, which is a critical factor influencing algorithm performance, are investigated. Using the dynamic traveling salesman problem as a foundation, we generate test cases to reflect real-world complexities. Our results on a set of problem instances reveal that the choice of communication strategy between colonies significantly impacts the adaptability and efficiency of multi-colony ACO algorithms in tracking moving optimum. © 2024 IEEE.

In this study, we investigated the validity of using a two-dimensional gait analysis system, which employed industrial cameras and a custom-developed Inertial Measurement Unit system, compared to the gold standard three-dimensional Vicon gait analysis system. Four subjects with a mean age of 26.76 (SD: 0.71) were included in the study, and gait data was collected from their 8 limbs. Correlation analyses examined the relationship between the data obtained from the two-dimensional gait analysis system and the three-dimensional Vicon system. The study's results showed a high correlation for the hip and knee joints between the two systems, but a lower correlation for the ankle joint. This pilot study demonstrated the potential of using industrial cameras and IMU systems for practical gait analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

Image-based region mapping requires an image-stitching process to produce a complete map while preserving the details of the mapped objects. Image acquisition can be done using UAVs such as drones, and image stitching can be performed using the Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF (ORB) techniques. However, this algorithm has a drawback: There are many mismatches during feature matching. In this study, a maximum pixel displacement constraint between images was applied during the feature-matching process. Applying this constraint improved the feature-matching results due to a significant reduction of the mismatch rate from 84.28% to 25.17%. This reduction positively impacted subsequent stages, including map stitching. The mismatch removal process and the acquisition of transformation models during image registration became faster, reducing the processing time from 17m 36.8s to 1m 17.2s. Additionally, there was an improvement in the SSIM metric score, indicating that the stitched image results had a higher similarity to the reference image captured by a digital camera, increasing from 0.8423 to 0.8489. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. Chatbots, which emulate human conversation, are meeting the rising demand for efficient customer service by reducing the need for manual intervention and alleviating the challenges of timeconsuming human interactions. This paper introduces Ubot, a domain-specific chatbot fluent in both Urdu and English transliteration, designed to reduce the need for human intervention and lower service costs. We address the challenge of low-resource languages by creating a dataset comprising 750 utterances, 28 intents, and 45 entities, validated by 36 participants. Ubot, powered by the Rasa framework, achieves remarkable accuracy in intent detection 94.1% and entity extraction 95.4%, offering efficient multilingual conversational AI solutions. Our approach holds promise for similar script-sharing languages such as Persian and Arabic, contributing to advanced language applications and intelligent virtual assistants. © 2023 IEEE.
