IoT devices rely on authentication mechanisms to render secure message *** data transmission,scalability,data integrity,and processing time have been considered challenging aspects for a system constituted by IoT *** application of physical unclonable functions(PUFs)ensures secure data transmission among the internet of things(IoT)devices in a simplified network with an efficient time-stamped *** paper proposes a secure,lightweight,cost-efficient reinforcement machine learning framework(SLCR-MLF)to achieve decentralization and security,thus enabling scalability,data integrity,and optimized processing time in IoT *** has been integrated into SLCR-MLF to improve the security of the cluster head node in the IoT platform during transmission by providing the authentication service for device-to-device *** IoT network gathers information of interest from multiple cluster members selected by the proposed *** addition,the software-defined secured(SDS)technique is integrated with SLCR-MLF to improve data integrity and optimize processing time in the IoT *** analysis shows that the proposed framework outperforms conventional methods regarding the network’s lifetime,energy,secured data retrieval rate,and performance *** enabling the proposed framework,number of residual nodes is reduced to 16%,energy consumption is reduced by up to 50%,almost 30%improvement in data retrieval rate,and network lifetime is improved by up to 1000 msec.

Nash Equilibria in Reverse Temporal Voronoi Games

We study Voronoi games on temporal graphs as introduced by Boehmer et al. (IJCAI ’21) where two players each select a vertex in a temporal graph with the goal of reaching the other vertices earlier than the other player. In this work, we consider the reverse temporal Voronoi game, that is, a player wants to maximize the number of vertices reaching her earlier than the other player. Since temporal distances in temporal graphs are not symmetric in general, this yields a different game. We investigate the difference between the two games with respect to the existence of Nash equilibria in various temporal graph classes including temporal trees, cycles, grids, cliques and split graphs. Our extensive results show that the two games indeed behave quite differently depending on the considered temporal graph class. © 2024, Brown University. All rights reserved.

A Package Level Regression Test Selection Approach for Java software Systems

Regression testing of software systems is an important and critical activity yet expensive and resource-intensive. An approach to enhance its efficiency is Regression Test Selection (RTS), which selectively re-executes a subset of relevant tests that are impacted by code modifications. Previous studies on static and dynamic RTS for Java software have shown that selecting tests at the class level is more effective than using finer granularities like methods or statements. Nevertheless, RTS at the package level, which is a coarser granularity than class level, has not been thoroughly investigated or evaluated for Java projects. To address this gap, we propose PKRTS, a static package-level RTS approach that utilizes the structural dependencies of the software system under test to construct a package-level dependency graph. PKRTS analyzes dependencies in the graph and identifies relevant tests that can reach modified packages, i.e., packages containing altered classes. In contrast to conventional static RTS techniques, PKRTS implicitly considers dynamic dependencies, such as Java reflection and virtual method calls, among classes belonging to the same package by treating all those classes as a single cohesive node in the dependency graph. We evaluated PKRTS on 885 revisions of 9 open-source Java projects, with its performance compared to Ekstazi, a state-of-the-art dynamic class-level approach, and STARTS, a state-of-the-art static class-level approach. We used Ekstazi as the baseline to measure the safety and precision violations of PKRTS and STARTS. The results indicated that PKRTS outperformed static class-level RTS in terms of safety violation, which measures the extent to which relevant test cases are missed. PKRTS showed an average safety violation of 2.29% compared to 5.94% safety violation of STARTS. A mathematical multi-objective optimization model and metaheuristic algorithm for effective advertising in the social internet of things

The integration of social networks with the Internet of Things (IoT) has been explored in recent research, giving rise to the Social Internet of Things (SIoT). One promising application of SIoT is viral marketing, which plays a critical role in modern advertising. However, current solutions proposed for viral marketing are often impractical in real-world scenarios, and there has been limited investigation into viral marketing within the context of SIoT. To address this issue, we present a multi-objective integer linear programming model named ILP-ASoT that facilitates advertising through SIoT. Our approach introduces two realistic parameters: the node sociality rate and the node appropriateness rate as an advertising destination. By balancing the cost of selecting a seed set with the number of users who receive the advertisement, our model offers an appropriate trade-off. Since this is proven as an NP-hard problem, A PSO-based metaheuristic algorithm is proposed to provide near-optimal solutions for advertising in SIoT, called PSO-ASoT. Through simulations, we show that our PSO-ASoT algorithm outperforms state-of-the-art algorithms in several metrics, such as influence spread, advertising cost, and duplicated advertising rate. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Smartphones contain a vast amount of information about their users, which can be used as evidence in criminal cases. However, the sheer volume of data can make it challenging for forensic investigators to identify and use the most relevant information. Neutrosophic logic is a generalization of fuzzy logic that allows for uncertainty and vagueness, making it a more potent tool for dealing with the ambiguity of real-world data. The proposed framework aims to identify and utilize the most relevant information for forensic investigators, making it easier to solve criminal cases using Neutrosophic logic. This novel approach provides a more powerful tool for dealing with the ambiguity of smartphone data, ultimately improving the accuracy and effectiveness of forensic investigations. Our research has utilized Neutrosophic logic to evaluate the degree of truth, falsity, or Indeterminacy of this information. Additionally, this study analyzes conversations between individuals using Excel’s fuzzy lookup add-in to determine the percentage of truth and false in each conversation. The results were compiled into a dataset and utilized a Neutrosophic Python code to evaluate the information. The results indicate the percentage of truth, false, and Indeterminacy in each conversation and which can be used to determine its admissibility as evidence and which not. © 2025, University of New Mexico. VGIS (Virtual Geographic Information System) Platform is a unified oilfield operations management platform based on MaaS (Management as a Service) that integrates advanced technologies such as AIoT (Artificial Intelligence & Internet of Things), GIS (Geographic Information System), Digital Twin, and AR (Augmented Reality)/ VR (Virtual Reality). The VGIS platform connects, collects, integrates, analyses, and acts on disparate data sources to provide the oilfield with a centralized view to help make informed decisions fast, bring operational visibility across all assets to improve safety and operational efficiency, reduce costs and improve margins, provide comprehensive analytics and decision support, increase business agility, and reduce management complexity. This is a case study of the application of the VGIS platform Majnoon oilfield, Basrah, Iraq. VGIS digital transformation, production process, and KPIs (Key performance indicators) are highly managed taking oilfield management to a higher level globally, in this study, the objective is to address and resolve the issue of high costs associated with using cloud services by utilising a local Data Center (a large group of networked computer servers typically used by organizations for the remote storage, processing, or distribution of large amounts of data). This approach involves directly uploading 3D maps to ensure faster service on the intranet, eliminating the need to pay for cloud *** aims providing a platform for researching and implementing monitoring and controlling processes in a more convenient and remote manner. The vGIS platform has emerged as a crucial instrument in the realm of disaster response and crisis management. This technology enables responders to rapidly evaluate, analyse, and respond to crucial information in real-time. This paper investigates the application of GradCAM, an explainable AI (XAI) technique, to enhance the transparency and precision of fingerprint authentication systems in forensics, particularly in detecting fingerprint mutilation-a common method used to evade biometric security measures. Employing the SOCOfing dataset, which contains both unaltered and synthetically altered fingerprint images, we apply GradCAM to visualize and understand the decision-making process of a convolutional neural network (CNN) model trained to recognize and classify these alterations. Our study not only demonstrates the model's effectiveness in identifying different types of fingerprint modifications but also identifies areas where the model's performance can be enhanced. Through detailed visual analysis, we uncover the model's focus points and assess its reliability across various alteration types and difficulty levels. The insights gained underline the potential of XAI in improving the robustness and reliability of biometric verification systems, paving the way for more secure and equitable AI applications in high-stakes environments. © 2024 IOS Press. A new meaningful image encryption algorithm based on compressive sensing(CS)and integer wavelet transformation(IWT)is proposed in this *** of all,the initial values of chaotic system are encrypted by RSA algorithm,and then they are open as public *** make the chaotic sequence more random,a mathematical model is constructed to improve the random ***,the plain image is compressed and encrypted to obtain the secret ***,the secret image is inserted with numbers zero to extend its size same to the plain *** applying IWT to the carrier image and discrete wavelet transformation(DWT)to the inserted image,the secret image is embedded into the carrier ***,a meaningful carrier image embedded with secret plain image can be obtained by inverse ***,the measurement matrix is built by both chaotic system and Hadamard matrix,which not only retains the characteristics of Hadamard matrix,but also has the property of control and synchronization of chaotic ***,information entropy of the plain image is employed to produce the initial conditions of chaotic *** a result,the proposed algorithm can resist known-plaintext attack(KPA)and chosen-plaintext attack(CPA).By the help of asymmetric cipher algorithm RSA,no extra transmission is needed in the *** simulations show that the normalized correlation(NC)values between the host image and the cipher image are *** is to say,the proposed encryption algorithm is imperceptible and has good hiding effect.

The novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) spread rapidly around the world and caused overwhelming effects on the health and economy of the world. It first appeared in Wuhan city of China and was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). Many researchers, as well as experts in clinical and artificial intelligence experts, are working together to control the rapid spread of COVID-19 with early detection. This study focused on intelligent prediction for coronavirus using computational intelligence approaches (IPC-FCIA) like convolutional neural networks, support vector machines, and fuzzy logic techniques. The proposed IPC-FCIA model is based on two sections namely the training section and the validation section. Features fusion and decision-level fusion are used in this study to enhance the performance of the recommended IPC-FCIA model. The proposed model predicts the early detection of COVID-19 in two types COVID-negative and COVID-positive. The benchmark results of the model show an accuracy of 97.66 % on decision-level fusion in the detection of COVID-19. The proposed model can be helpful for medical experts as well as COVID-19-affected patients. © 2025 Institute of Electronics Engineers of Korea. All rights reserved.
