Genomic variants, which can disrupt cellular functions, present a challenge in distinguishing deleterious from benign instances. While assessing genome-wide functional impacts, many current algorithms neglect protein tertiary structure of coding region variants due to limitations in protein structural prediction. This study introduces PMMVar, an advanced multimodal deep convolutional network, which adeptly integrates protein tertiary structures with conservation properties from ESM-2, supplemented by other protein structural sequences. PMMVar achieves outstanding performance on the latest clinical variant datasets, NCBI ClinVar (2023), and the Mendelian variant dataset, surpassing existing benchmarks. Ablation analyses validate the significance of protein multi-level structures in enhancing the model's accuracy. Overall, our findings spotlight the essential role of multi-level protein structures in pathogenicity predictions and their potential to discern deleterious genomic variants effectively. © 2023 IEEE.

This study aims at designing Map Reduce and federated learning-based asthma prediction model for adolescent to provide answers to the problems associated with the existing asthma prediction model for adolescent. This study leveraged on two diverse datasets: the Nigerian Hospital Asthma dataset and the National Survey of Children Health dataset for benchmarking purposes. Symmetrical uncertainty and normalization interaction were employed for feature selection. The model was trained using Federated Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology Enabler (FATE) and complemented with XGBoost model and one central server for federated algorithm averaging. The study was implemented with python programming language on Google Collaboratory environment. The results of the analysis showed considerable high accuracy of 0.98, precision (0.98%), recall (0.98%) and F1-socre (0.99%) for the asthmatic class and precision of 0.98%, recall of 0.98%, as well as F1-score of 0.99% for the non-asthmatic class. The implemented model was benchmark with the existing asthma prediction models in the literature. Simulated attack was also performed using implemented model with and without Map Reduce. This study concludes that the researchers' model has the potentials to outperform some of the existing machine learning models on asthma prediction in adolescent, thereby facilitating collaborative sharing of the model with other hospitals, protect the patient information from leakage, meeting the criteria of healthcare data protection regulation as well as beneficial for enhancing the security of the dataset. © 2024 IEEE.

Named Entity Recognition (NER) is one of the crucial and vital subtasks that must be solved in most Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks. However, constructing a NER system for the Sinhala Language is challenging. Because it comes under the category of low-resource languages. Therefore, the proposed approach attempted designing a mechanism to identify specific named entities in the sports domain. Firstly, a domain-specific corpus was built using Sinhala sport e-News articles. Then a semi-automated, rule-based component named as "Class_Label_Suggester" was built to annotate pre-defined named entities. After auto annotation, the outcome was further validated manually with a little effort. Finally, it was trained using the annotated data. Linear Perceptron, Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD), Multinomial Naive Bayes (MNB), and Passive Aggressive classifiers were used to train the NER model. Though, the above Machine Learning (ML) algorithms showed approximately 98% accuracy, the MNB model demonstrated highest accuracy for the identified class labels of which, 99.76% for 'Ground', 99.53% for 'School', 98.55% for 'Tournament', and 97.87% for 'Other' classes. Additionally, high precision values of the above classes were 81%, 72%, 62%, and 98% respectively. An accurately annotated Sinhala dataset and the trained Sinhala NER model are main contributions of the study. © 2022 IEEE.

Sentiment analysis or Opinion Mining (OM) has gained significant interest among research communities and entrepreneurs in the recentyears. Likewise, Machine Learning (ML) approaches is one of the interestingresearch domains that are highly helpful and are increasingly applied in severalbusiness domains. In this background, the current research paper focuses onthe design of automated opinion mining model using Deer Hunting Optimization Algorithm (DHOA) with Fuzzy Neural Network (FNN) abbreviatedas DHOA-FNN model. The proposed DHOA-FNN technique involves fourdifferent stages namely, preprocessing, feature extraction, classification, andparameter tuning. In addition to the above, the proposed DHOA-FNN modelhas two stages of feature extraction namely, Glove and N-gram ***, FNN model is utilized as a classification model whereas GTOA isused for the optimization of parameters. The novelty of current work is thatthe GTOA is designed to tune the parameters of FNN model. An extensiverange of simulations was carried out on the benchmark dataset and the resultswere examined under diverse measures. The experimental results highlightedthe promising performance of DHOA-FNN model over recent state-of-the-arttechniques with a maximum accuracy of 0.9928.

software requirements are the expectation of stakeholders which are identified and modeled by various requirements elicitation and modeling techniques like traditional methods, goal oriented methods, and unified modeling language (UML), etc. The identified software requirements are broadly classified into functional requirements (FRs) and non-functional requirements (NFRs). Based on our literature review, we found that most of the focus in the area of software engineering is on the analysis of FRs as compared to NFRs. For the successful development of any information system both FRs and NFRs should be considered equally during the elicitation and modeling process;and ignoring NFRs may lead to failure of software. Therefore, to address this issue, we developed a method for the analysis of both FRs and NFRs so that a successful software product can be developed by a software company. In the proposed method, FRs are modeled by UML use-case diagram, class-diagram, and activity diagram. The NFRs are analyzed using NFR-framework;and NFR propagation rules have been derived from the requirements of an information system. In this framework, fuzzy based approach has been used to analyze the contribution links of softgoal interdependency graph. Image deformation technology is an important technology in computer graphics image processing, which can satisfy people's requirements for visual and sensory effects, and its research results have been widely used in film and television animation, game development, virtual reality and other fields. Mesh-based deformation technology has been a research emphasis in image deformation technology, through the virtual model for the mesh division, the use of mesh nodes control, to achieve the deformation of the model. However, the more complex the model is, the greater number of mesh control nodes, which greatly increases the complexity of mesh deformation. In this paper, the deformation of 3D virtual character model is studied based on the method of image topological deformation. In order to solve the problem of large number of network nodes in 3D model, the Laplace deformation method is further combined to reduce the number of control nodes in the network. The experimental results show that the deformation can be effectively completed using a small number of control nodes by using the laplace coordinate system for adjacent topological mesh node control. © 2022 IEEE.

Web-blogging sites such as Twitter and Facebook are heavily influenced by emotions,sentiments,and data in the modern ***,a widely used microblogging site where individuals share their thoughts in the form of tweets,has become a major source for sentiment *** recent years,there has been a significant increase in demand for sentiment analysis to identify and classify opinions or expressions in text or *** or expressions of people about a particular topic,situation,person,or product can be identified from sentences and divided into three categories:positive for good,negative for bad,and neutral for mixed or confusing *** process of analyzing changes in sentiment and the combination of these categories is known as“sentiment analysis.”In this study,sentiment analysis was performed on a dataset of 90,000 tweets using both deep learning and machine learning *** deep learning-based model long-short-term memory(LSTM)performed better than machine learning *** short-term memory achieved 87%accuracy,and the support vector machine(SVM)classifier achieved slightly worse results than LSTM at 86%.The study also tested binary classes of positive and negative,where LSTM and SVM both achieved 90%accuracy.

The rapid growth of electronic commerce (e-commerce) has revolutionized the way Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) conduct business, enabling them to reach global markets and unlock new growth opportunities. However, this digital transformation has also exposed SMEs to an escalating array of cybersecurity threats that could compromise their data, financial integrity, and reputation. Blockchain technology, known for its decentralized and immutable nature, has emerged as a potential solution to enhance the security and resilience of e-commerce operations for SMEs. This research paper aims to investigate the current state of cybersecurity preparedness among SMEs engaged in e-commerce and identify the prevalent threats they face in the digital landscape. To achieve this goal, the study incorporates systematic literature review (SLR) method to examine the best technological solution to address the cybersecurity issues faced by e-commerce organizations in this paper of SMEs operating in e-commerce to gather data on their security practices, incident history, and perceptions of cybersecurity risks. In the context of this research, blockchain technology will be explored as a potential mechanism to enhance the security of e-commerce operations for SMEs. The inherent features of blockchain, such as decentralization, transparency, and immutability, could help protect sensitive data and thwart cyberattacks. By exploring the integration of blockchain into e-commerce systems, the research aims to shed light on the potential benefits and challenges associated with its adoption by SMEs. The research findings will not only shed light on the prevailing cybersecurity practices within SMEs and highlight their vulnerabilities but will also explore how blockchain technology can be leveraged to address these challenges. Speech emotion recognition(SER)is an important research problem in human-computer interaction *** representation and extraction of features are significant challenges in SER *** the promising results of recent studies,they generally do not leverage progressive fusion techniques for effective feature representation and increasing receptive *** mitigate this problem,this article proposes DeepCNN,which is a fusion of spectral and temporal features of emotional speech by parallelising convolutional neural networks(CNNs)and a convolution layer-based *** parallel CNNs are applied to extract the spectral features(2D-CNN)and temporal features(1D-CNN)representations.A 2D-convolution layer-based transformer module extracts spectro-temporal features and concatenates them with features from parallel *** learnt low-level concatenated features are then applied to a deep framework of convolutional blocks,which retrieves high-level feature representation and subsequently categorises the emotional states using an attention gated recurrent unit and classification *** fusion technique results in a deeper hierarchical feature representation at a lower computational cost while simultaneously expanding the filter depth and reducing the feature *** Berlin Database of Emotional Speech(EMO-BD)and Interactive Emotional Dyadic Motion Capture(IEMOCAP)datasets are used in experiments to recognise distinct speech *** efficient spectral and temporal feature representation,the proposed SER model achieves 94.2%accuracy for different emotions on the EMO-BD and 81.1%accuracy on the IEMOCAP dataset *** proposed SER system,DeepCNN,outperforms the baseline SER systems in terms of emotion recognition accuracy on the EMO-BD and IEMOCAP datasets.
