With the pandemic, coaching or tutoring classes became to halt as the underlying system wasn't facilitating to adapt to emergency teaching mechanisms due to sparse of relevant technologies and tutor unawareness. SmartCoach is an integrated platform that allows students to find suitable tutors based on recommendations and other parameters like proximity, previous track record etc. using sentiment analysis and natural language processing. For tutors, SmartCoach allows publishing learning materials, automatic quiz creation, tracking attendance and, attentiveness during classes using OpenCV library. Moreover tutors get a dashboard featuring critical aspects about their classes and, personal income. This research is aimed to introduce a comprehensive distance learning platform with novel technological approaches that connect both potential students and tutors to a common platform. © 2021 IEEE.

Background and objective: Epilepsy is among the most prevalent illnesses of the central nervous system. This condition results in frequent, uncontrolled seizures that happen suddenly and are caused by a variety of trigger factors, including brain injury, physiological, genetic, etc. Involuntary spasms or distraction during seizures can cause severe bodily harm or even death for epileptics. In this paper, an effective method for accurately classifying Electroencephalogram (EEG) data for the early identification of epileptic seizures is ***: The suggested process essentially hybridizes several statistical data, discrete wavelet transformations (DWT), machine learning algorithms, and feature selection techniques independently. Through the use of DWT, the automated multi-resolution signal processing approach decomposes EEG signals into detail and approximation coefficients after splitting them into detailed parts with varying window sizes to guarantee an accurate classification performance. Statistical latent features are extracted from these coefficients that describe the nonlinear and dynamical patterns in the signals. Feature selection techniques were used to reduce the dimension of the feature matrix while highlighting the important elements. Different classifier structures were developed to classify input matrices. For all classifiers, the optimal hyperparameters were found using grid search techniques. Performance metrics for classification were calculated to assess the model's ***: In the analysis, to compare the proposed procedure with the other approaches in terms of detecting the epileptic behaviors correctly, a benchmark data set from the University of Bonn database was used. The performance of a battery pack is greatly affected by an imbalance between the cells. Cell balancing is a very important criterion for Battery Management System (BMS) to operate properly. This paper presents the various cell balancing topologies which have been presented by various researchers in the past years. A novel topology has also been discussed, which improves the overall efficiency of the components being used. Vehicular ad hoc networks(VANETs)provide intelligent navigation and efficient route management,resulting in time savings and cost reductions in the transportation ***,the exchange of beacons and messages over public channels among vehicles and roadside units renders these networks vulnerable to numerous attacks and privacy *** address these challenges,several privacy and security preservation protocols based on blockchain and public key cryptography have been proposed ***,most of these schemes are limited by a long execution time and massive communication costs,which make them inefficient for on-board units(OBUs).Additionally,some of them are still susceptible to many *** such,this study presents a novel protocol based on the fusion of elliptic curve cryptography(ECC)and bilinear pairing(BP)*** formal security analysis is accomplished using the Burrows–Abadi–Needham(BAN)logic,demonstrating that our scheme is verifiably *** proposed scheme’s informal security assessment also shows that it provides salient security features,such as non-repudiation,anonymity,and ***,the scheme is shown to be resilient against attacks,such as packet replays,forgeries,message falsifications,and *** the performance perspective,this protocol yields a 37.88%reduction in communication overheads and a 44.44%improvement in the supported security ***,the proposed scheme can be deployed in VANETs to provide robust security at low overheads.

Runtime Backdoor Detection for Federated Learning via Representational Dissimilarity Analysis

Federated learning (FL), as a powerful learning paradigm, trains a shared model by aggregating model updates from distributed clients. However, the decoupling of model learning from local data makes FL highly vulnerable to backdoor attacks, where a single compromised client can poison the shared model. While recent progress has been made in backdoor detection, existing methods face challenges with detection accuracy and runtime effectiveness, particularly when dealing with complex model architectures. In this work, we propose a novel approach to detecting malicious clients in an accurate, stable, and efficient manner. Our method utilizes a sampling-based network representation method to quantify dissimilarities between clients, identifying model deviations caused by backdoor injections. We also propose an iterative algorithm to progressively detect and exclude malicious clients as outliers based on these dissimilarity measurements. Evaluations across a range of benchmark tasks demonstrate that our approach outperforms state-of-the-art methods in detection accuracy and defense effectiveness. When deployed for runtime protection, our approach effectively eliminates backdoor injections with marginal overheads. © 2025 IEEE.

Analyzing and evaluating students' progress in any learning environment is stressful and time consuming if done using traditional analysis methods. This is further exasperated by the increasing number of students due to the shift of focus toward integrating the Internet technologies in education and the focus of academic institutions on moving toward e-Learning, blended, or online learning models. As a result, the topic of student performance prediction has become a vibrant research area in recent years. To address this, machine learning and data mining techniques have emerged as a viable solution. To that end, this work proposes the use of deep learning techniques (CNN and RNN-LSTM) to predict the students' performance at the midpoint stage of the online course delivery using three distinct datasets collected from three different regions of the world. Experimental results show that deep learning models have promising performance as they outperform other optimized traditional ML models in two of the three considered datasets while also having comparable performance for the third dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

A cataract is one of the most significant eye problems worldwide that does not immediately impair vision and progressively worsens over *** cataract prediction based on various imaging technologies has been addressed recently,such as smartphone apps used for remote health monitoring and eye *** recent years,advances in diagnosis,prediction,and clinical decision support using Artificial Intelligence(AI)in medicine and ophthalmology have been *** to privacy concerns,a lack of data makes applying artificial intelligence models in the medical field *** address this issue,a federated learning framework named CDFL based on a VGG16 deep neural network model is proposed in this *** study collects data from the Ocular Disease Intelligent Recognition(ODIR)database containing 5,000 patient *** significant features are extracted and normalized using the min-max normalization *** the federated learning-based technique,the VGG16 model is trained on the dataset individually after receiving model updates from two *** transferring the attributes to the global model,the suggested method trains the local *** global model subsequently improves the technique after integrating the new *** client analyses the results in three rounds to decrease the over-fitting *** experimental result shows the effectiveness of the federated learning-based technique on a Deep Neural Network(DNN),reaching a 95.28%accuracy while also providing privacy to the patient’s *** experiment demonstrated that the suggested federated learning model outperforms other traditional methods,achieving client 1 accuracy of 95.0%and client 2 accuracy of 96.0%.

We present a continuous reciprocal-kind Zhang dynamics (RKZD) model for solving the time-dependent linear matrixvector equation. On the basis of the model, we deduce its simplified form for solving the time-independent linear matrix-vector equation (TILMVE). Subsequently, for more efficient computation and easier implementation in digital hardware, we utilize Euler forward difference formula (EFDF) to discretize the continuous RKZD model, resulting in a discrete RKZD algorithm. Finally, numerical experimental results attest to the feasibility and high effectiveness of the discrete RKZD algorithm for solving TILMVE. Comparisons with the discrete gradient neural network (or termed discrete gradient dynamics), Jacobi iteration, as well as Gauss-Seidel iteration highlight the superior convergence properties of the discrete RKZD algorithm. © 2023 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.
