software testing aims at exploring faults within software in order to ensure it meets all necessary specifications. Test case design strategies play key role in software testing. Classical test case design strategies, however, do not sufficiently include support for exploration of faults due to interaction between parameter values. New strategies known as t-way strategies (where t expresses interaction strength) have been developed for finding interaction faults. However, existing t-way strategies for input-output-based relationship (IOR) interaction testing mostly adopt greedy algorithms which often generate poor quality test data. Therefore, this paper presents the design of a new IOR test suite generation strategy called IOR_HH based on the exponential Monte Carlo with counter (EMCQ) hyper-heuristic. EMCQ is a parameter free hyper-heuristic which works as controller of the three implemented low-level meta-heuristic operators, namely crossover, peer learning and global pollination in the proposed IOR_HH strategy. Experimental results demonstrate the impact of the proposed strategy against existing computational strategies for IOR interaction testing. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Scrum is an incremental, interactive agile framework widely used to develop practical problems; the Scrum team focuses on achieving a common goal each cycle, "Sprint Goal" instead of the traditional sequential technique for delivering products. Although many organizations are adopting Scrum, it is still following the traditional manual approaches. Even though many tools are available in the market to facilitate project management and Scrum master tasks, the support is still limited and lacks the utilization of Artificial Intelligence science. This study focuses on integrating the Scrum framework with Artificial Intelligence to build a predicting model that can assist project management "in particular the Scrum master" to predict the achievement of the Scrum Team per Sprint using Story Points; this prediction is built based on several factors that can affect the burndown charts per Sprint.

The advent of deep Q-learning has opened up new possibilities in training autonomous agents to perform intelligently in intricate settings. This research work examines the potential of deep Q-learning in the paradigmatic Snake game, which requires an agent to navigate a grid, ingest food items, and avoid collisions. We incorporated a partially observable game state, introducing a novel level of difficulty to the task. Our proposed approach utilizes a straightforward feed-forward neural network to estimate Q-values of potential actions, given the current state. The agent progressively learns to balance between exploration and exploitation, allowing it to navigate optimally in the game scenario. Most existing studies in deep Q-learning for the Snake game overlook the complexities posed by partial observability, focusing mainly on fully observable state representations. Furthermore, the majority of the investigations delve into the efficacy of complex neural network architectures, leaving a gap in the understanding of the performance of more simplistic feed-forward networks. Our study fills this gap by offering an in-depth exploration and analysis of deep Q-learning strategies, especially when applied to partially observable game states and simple neural networks. Simulations and results reveal that adopting simpler state representations can significantly boost the agent's performance in the Snake game. A more detailed and intricate reward function is also observed to enhance the agent's decision-making skills and overall proficiency in the game. These observations underscore the significance of optimizing state representations and reward functions for maximizing the performance of deep Q-learning agents in the Snake game. © 2023 IEEE.

In the rapidly growing interest in digital identity management, there is an important shift toward adopting verifiable credentials, often based on blockchain technology. This transition highlights a growing interest in the concept of Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI), a paradigm that empowers individuals with control over their own digital identities through the use of verifiable credentials. This paper introduces a novel access control framework that leverages the principles of SelfSovereign Identity to significantly enhance the security of system access based on the users' credentials. By integrating the decentralized and user-centric nature of SSI, our proposed framework aims to address existing vulnerabilities in traditional access control systems. It provides a robust, scalable, and controlled mechanism that ensures higher levels of trust and security in digital interactions. This approach aligns with the broader digital identity trends favoring transparency, user autonomy, and trust. © 2024 IEEE.

PolyCystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder frequently found in women of reproductive age having a significant impact on the cause of infertility. It is an endocrine condition characterized by abnormalities in female hormone levels and aberrant synthesis of male hormones. This syndrome causes ovarian malfunction, increasing the risk of miscarriage and infertility. PCOS has a wide range of symptoms, making a diagnosis difficult. In this study, we proposed a feature selection method based on genetic algorithm with logistic regression to increase the accuracy of early diagnosis. A dataset containing the clinical and biochemical characteristics of 109 patients, including 36 with PCOS, is used. The genetic algorithm is used to extract the most important features from the dataset. Then, a logistic regression model is used for classification. The proposed model outperformed the baseline model that used all features, which had an accuracy of 86.2%, and produced a markedly improved accuracy of 95.4%. These results show that the proposed model effectively locates key characteristics for PCOS diagnosis. © 2023 IEEE.

This study investigates the application of the Mutual Information (MI) feature selection technique to improve the accuracy of Machine Learning (ML) models on NSL-KDD datasets, building upon prior research. Six ML models, namely Decision Tree (DT), Logistic Regression (LR), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Random Forest (RF), Naive Bayes (NB), and Support Vector Machine (SVM) with different kernels (1st, 2nd, and 3rd), are implemented for classification purposes. The proposed DT model in this study shows higher accuracy than the DT model proposed in the original paper by Ingre et al. for Intrusion Detection System (IDS). Additionally, a multi-class classification model for NSL-KDD datasets is developed, considering both normalized and non-normalized features. Interestingly, it is observed that the models trained without normalized features achieve higher accuracies compared to those trained with normalized features. Moreover, the study enhances the classification performance of the DT-based IDS using the Correlation based Feature Selection (CFS) technique for feature selection. The proposed IDS is evaluated both before and after feature selection for multi-class classification (normal and various attack types) and binary classification (normal and abnormal data). © 2023 IEEE.

the proliferation of fake news has become a widespread problem in the contemporary era of information, posing possible harm to public discussions, political stability, and community confidence. To tackle this difficulty, it is necessary to develop strong and effective detection methods that can accurately recognize misinformation in several languages, including Arabic. The aim of this study is to create and assess different models specifically designed for the identification of fake news in Arabic *** of deep Learning models like Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), Long short-term memory (LSTM), Bidirectional long short term memory (Bi-LSTM) and convolutional neural network (CNN) are used in this study. On the other hand, some of the traditional machine learning models like k-nearest neighbors (KNN), Random Forests (RF), Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), decision tree (DT) and multi-layer perceptron (MLP) are also used. Also, transformers, like Generative pre-trained Transformer 3 (Gpt-3) and Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT), are used as a feature extraction to convert text into numerical representation and assign different number to each token. All of these models were used in evaluation which of them is the best model in the process of fake news detection for the Arabic Language *** findings demonstrate strong performance across deep learning models, with CNN-LSTM, Bi-LSTM and CNN-Bi-LSTM exhibiting the best accuracy rates of 93.2% ,92.6%, 93.6% respectively. The LSTM model achieves a moderate accuracy of 87.4%, whilst the RNN model demonstrates a more modest accuracy of 56.8%. The results emphasize the capability of deep learning methods in reducing the dissemination of fake information in Arabic-language datasets. © 2024 IEEE.

SARS-CoV-2 is an infection that affects several organs and has a wide range of symptoms in addition to producing severe acute respiratory syndrome. Millions of individuals were infected when it first started because of how quickly it travelled from its starting location to nearby countries. Anticipating positive Covid-19 incidences is required in order to better understand future risk and take the proper preventative and precautionary measures. As a result, it is critical to create mathematical models that are durable and have as few prediction errors as possible. This study suggests a unique hybrid strategy for examining the status of Covid-19 confirmed patients in conjunction with complete vaccination. First, the selective opposition technique is initially included into the Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) in this study to improve the exploration and exploitation capacity for the given challenge. Second, to execute the prediction task with the optimized hyper-parameter values, the Least Squares Support Vector Machines (LSSVM) method is integrated with Selective Opposition based GWO as an objective function. The data source includes daily occurrences of confirmed cases in Malaysia from February 24, 2021 to July 27, 2022. Based on the experimental results, this paper shows that SOGWO-LSSVM outperforms a few other hybrid techniques with ideally adjusted parameters. © 2022 IEEE.

Non-invasive estimation of chlorophyll content in plants plays an important role in precision agriculture. This task may be tackled using hyperspectral imaging that acquires numerous narrow bands of the electromagnetic spectrum, which may reflect subtle features of the plant, and inherently offers spatial scalability. Such imagery is, however, high-dimensional, therefore it is challenging to transfer from the imaging device, store and investigate. We propose a machine learning pipeline for estimating chlorophyll content from hyperspectral data. It benefits from the Savitzky-Golay filtering to smooth the (potentially noisy) spectral curves, and from gradient-based features extracted from such a smoothed signal. The experiments revealed that our approach significantly outperforms the state of the art according to the widely-established estimation quality metrics obtained for four chlorophyll-related parameters. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
