This paper presents a comparative analysis of two MEMS Tuning Fork Gyroscope (TFG) designs employing microlever amplification mechanisms for sensitivity amplification in the sense mode. An input frame added in microlever amplification frame to increase the robustness of MEMS gyroscope. Design A incorporates a non-anchored input frame in microlever, while Design B features an anchored input frame in microlever. Frequency response analysis and modal analysis were performed using CoventorMEMS+ to evaluate the impact of input frame of microlever on undesired mode suppression, mechanical sensitivity, and robustness. The results indicate that anchoring the microlever in Design B significantly reduces quadrature displacement arise because of environmental linear acceleration in the sense mode while maintaining comparable amplified sensitivity to Design A. Design B offers enhanced stability and robustness, making it a more suitable candidate for precision applications such as autonomous vehicle navigation systems.

The complex permeability of magnetic cores acts as a vital factor in electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering choke design and optimization. Many efforts have been reported for toroid cores, but fewer target those with other shapes, such as EE, EI, UU, and UI cores. Owing to their commonly used in planar EMI filters, determining the complex permeability of them is of significance. Targeting EE cores, this paper presents a flexible printed circuit board (PCB)-based fixture adapter tailored designed for performing the measurement, while the corresponding core permeability can be calculated through magnetic flux path length analysis. The experiments validate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed methods, spanning a wide frequency range up to 120 MHz.

The rapid proliferation of intelligent Internet of Health Things (IoHT) applications within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic has exerted significant strain on the backhaul network infrastructure. This paper aims to introduce a novel framework that leverages software-defined networking (SDN) to enhance edge computing capabilities. This framework will expect to facilitate dynamic and adaptable communication between edge and cloud servers, specifically designed to support real-time Internet of Health Things applications. Through the establishment of a connection between servers and the Software-Defined Networking controller, the system is expected to facilitate load balancing, network optimization, and the utilization of resources in an efficient manner. This, in turn, enables the provision of real-time healthcare services. Ultimately, the efficacy of the suggested framework is assessed by analyzing its impact on service response time. The research results indicate that the proposed framework significantly benefits IoHT systems’ service response times across various workloads and traffic.

The objective of this paper is to investigate a new technique for skin lesion classification based on discrete wavelet transforms and convolutional networks. More precisely, for preprocessing the images, two 2D family wavelets and Low-Low (LL), High-High (HH) bands were used to generate subimages for each skin lesion image as melanoma and normal nevi. On each subimage datasets of nevi and melanoma, five convolutional neural networks (CNNs) were tested. The experiments were conducted on the public Mednode dataset which contains 170 images (70 melanoma and 100 nevi cases). The accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics were extracted from confusion matrix for each test performed on the proposed CNN architecture. All metrics show that LL subimages are recommended to be used in classifying melanoma vs. nevi.
