A practical solution for counting traffic is analysed in this paper. The goal was to develop a solution that focuses on more CPU processing than on placing many complex sensors. This approach should reduce costs of both deployment and maintenance of such system. The proposed solution is to use video footage from a properly placed camera as input data. Vehicle movement is detected using optical flow algorithm. A great deal of post-processing is used to cope with problems that arise from this method of movement detection. Since the video of the entire crossroad is available, it is possible to fully analyse vehicle movement and produce turning movement counts and efficiently estimate (time varying) origin-destination trip tables if enough crossroads are monitored this way. The solution was developed in Simulink using Video and Image Processing Toolbox and custom blocks.

In this paper a novel decentralized robust control design scheme is proposed, considering the structured uncertain system matrix with a constant part (typical case for a system with dynamic controller as PID);the resulting robust control design is based on developed robust stability LMI condition which is less conservative than those from literature. In the following we use parameter dependent Lyapunov function and structured auxiliary matrices to receive "structured robust stability condition" which is the base for robust controller design. All developments are performed in general formulation including both discrete-time and continuous-time systems.

In paper the influence of thermal oxidation on nano-modified transformer oil is analyzed. The probes of mineral transformer were doped with different content of C 60 fullerenes from 0 mg/l to 512 mg/l. One set of probes were then aged for 64 hours in the temperature of 110°C with the presence of copper inhibitor. Oil parameters such us: resistivity, dielectric loss tangent and permittivity were measured for each probe set. The influence of C 60 additive on individual characteristics of fresh and aged oil was analyzed.

The paper discusses the problems of design and implementation of three-dimensional simulator for control of laboratory model helicopter. The research is realized under student project at the Department of automaticcontrol and Electronics of faculty of electricalengineering in Sarajevo. For this purpose the HUMUSOFT CE150 laboratory helicopter model was used. In order to verify various control algorithms the 3D simulator is designed. Simulator was developed in Matlab/Simulink environment using the Virtual Reality Modelling Language (VRML). Three-dimensional helicopter was built by using 3D Studio Max script. The quality of this simulator is tested during the helicopter motion with PID controllers.

The paper describes a digital PID controller realized in the framework of a student project at the Department of automaticcontrol and Electronics of faculty of electricalengineering in Sarajevo. This project included the complete solution, from hardware design to software implementation of control algorithms. Digital PID controller was implemented which was based on a microcontroller Microchip PIC16F877A. The device has the possibility of adjusting the value of PID controller parameters, with their display on the LCD display. Possibilities that the value of control error could be passed as an input signal on the analog input of the controller, or that the control error value might be formed internally in the controller itself were considered in advance. In this case, it was ensured that default value was either brought from outside through the analog input, or generated internally (with the possibility of setting the default value). PWM was used for output of the PID controller. Device is capable for proper connecting to the RS-485 bus. Realized controller has found great use in the teaching process.

It is commonly accepted that universities are an important source of new knowledge, especially in the science and technology sector. The mechanisms to transfer this new knowledge from academia to business organizations are widely discussed by many authors. This paper presents how web collaboration environments may help in distance knowledge transfer and also a web conferencing example meant to stress the factors which led to a successful web meeting for knowledge diffusion. There is presented also the positive feedback of the attendees, in the conditions of low participation rate in previous similar experiences.
