Today, there are numerous methods of quantitative analysis of the human movement. Basic quality of these methods is the high degree of accuracy and reliability of the obtained data. According to systematic approach human movement is qualified as a complex system that is, as such, subject to the principle of incompatibility (Zadeh, 1973) - i.e. making precise assertions is in reciprocity with their significance for the system. In this paper the outline of a method for qualitative analysis of human movement in the case of ergometer rowing have been proposed. Qualification process of kinematic parameters is done on the basis of previously collected quantitative data and with possession of prior contextual knowledge for their qualification by rowing experts. Possible applications of the proposed method, as well as guidelines for method improvement are briefly discussed.

Possible contribution and limitations of model predictive controller are discussed for special case of thermostatic bath temperature control. The control potential is restricted because of constrained heating and cooling manipulated variables. The aim of the paper is to find out which knowledge and requirements can improve control and try to compare predictive controller with some traditional control approaches for given specific thermal process. Base predictive controller uses information about MIMO system dynamics and constrains. The control response of such a controller is unfortunately similar to known simple approaches. control with predictive controller became beneficial after additional information (future set-point knowledge) and other requirements (minimal energy cost - optimal steady state energy consumption) were used.

The paper describes a new MLF (Mostly Loaded First) method of HTTP requests scheduling and distribution in a cluster-based Web system. Its application enables keeping the quality of the Web service on the required level and makes the Web service behave in a predictable way, opposite to other Web services offering unpredictable and unreliable services of best-effort type. MLF method helps to keep the page response time within established bounds, so that at a heavy workload, servicing both small and simple or more complex pages, would not exceed the imposed time limit. In the method presented, appropriate mechanisms of HTTP requests scheduling have been applied, as well as a new algorithm of the requests distribution has been proposed. In the paper, the method, the testbed and results obtained, which indicate desirability of further research on the MLF method, are presented.

The purpose of this paper is to analyse and implement PI control for the permanent magnet DC motor. The control algorithm is realised using Siemens S7-200 programmable logic controller (PLC). The complex motor system is composed of DC motor, driver and tachogenerator. The main objective is to achieve a satisfactory time response of the system output under disturbances like death zone, nonlinearity, measurement noise and external load acting. The PI controller is designed in the programming environment on a previously identified nonlinear motor system. Then the PI controller is embedded into the S7-200 PLC. The effectiveness of this controller are tested in both simulation mode and experiments.

In this paper we present a design and implementation of a modern elevator control system. The conventional elevator control system has several disadvantages (complicated circuits, a large number of wires, sensitivity to noise, low level security, etc). An alternative to conventional elevator control systems is a distributed elevator control system. This paper describes a network-based elevator control system via controller area network (CAN). We will show the design of a CAN network with message scheduling. This paper presents the results obtained from the experiment on a real model, i.e. the CAN based elevator control system.

The paper presents the performance of the switched reluctance motor. The calculation of the magnetic field and electromagnetic torque were performed using the Femm program, based on the finite element method. The calculation results are in good agreement with experimented data obtained on the prototype motor. The presented calculations enables to determine the output electromechanical parameters of the motor already being in the stage of the design.
