In preceding papers an original structure of two distant speed-controlled or positioning servodrives with cross-coupling control has been proposed and tested by Naumović, and Stojić (1996, 1997a, b, 2004). The structure enables synchronous motion of the servomechanisms. The suggested cross-coupling control is based upon the idea of simulation of effects that appear in a virtual mechanical link between the shafts of servomechanisms. In this paper, a novel approach to design an observer-based crosscoupled nonlinear contour tracking regulator is proposed. Results of analytical design are verified by simulation runs of a circular contour tracking example.

Two novel linear matrix inequality (LMI) based procedures to receive a stabilizing robust output feedback gain are presented, one of them being a modification of previous results of OLIVEIRA et al., [5]. The proposed robust control law stabilizes the respective uncertain discrete-time system described by a polytopic model with guaranteed cost. In this paper, a novel method for compressing color images using binary image segmentation and contour polygons is presented. This method encodes the image information by a number of polygons, which represent image regions with identical bit values in the color components. In the color space model RGB for example all neighbored pixels with the same bit value in the color components R, G or B are merged together to one region. This process allows us to represent a color image by number of binary images, which can be described through their contour polygons. The decompression of the image is achieved through reconstruction of the RGB values of every pixel by reversing the compression process.

A representation method for 2D object shapes using contour polygons and Daubechies wavelet transform is presented for image processing and pattern recognition applications. Wavelet descriptors is derived using an angle function which is obtained from an extracted contour polygon. An approximation method is used which describes the contours as polygons. The method is qualified to approximate the contours depending on the local curvature, since this is necessary to avoid distortion of the contour characteristics. The resulting polygons are then described in polar coordinates. To reconstruct the original signal from the approximation the IWT (inverse wavelet transform) is used.
