The paper presents research on the accuracy of measuring illuminance and chromaticity of airport lamps. The impact of the type of DC and AC power supply on measurement was assessed with the use of electronic sensors. BH1750 and BH1745 type sensors in a microprocessor system with an I2C interface were used for the measurements. A professional luxmeter was used for comparison purposes. Experimental tests were carried out under laboratory conditions for three types of halogen lamps: approach system lamps, runway centerline lamps, and touchdown zone lamps. © 2023 Division of Signal Processing and Electronic Systems, Poznan University of Technology (DSPES PUT).

This article presents a way to implement a collection of fitness moves on an iCub (Cognitive Universal Body) robot, whose objective is to act as a fitness instructor and interact with humans. Due to the advantages of a simulation medium, the robot is simulated in the Gazebo simulator, on The Construct online platform. The control is done using Robot Operating System (ROS) with PID controllers for the robot joints, with the proportional, integral and derivative parameters tuned using a Genetic Algorithm. The scripts for the collection of moves and the algorithm used to tune the PID controllers are written in Python. © 2023 IEEE.

The paper presents an analysis of fast selection of neural network for the purpose of visual analysis of mechanical wear on prism lenses of in-pavement airport navigational lighting systems. This issue is particularly important in terms of aviation safety and navigational lighting control, regulated by EASA and ICAO. The article is the next stage of the development of the system for the vision control of lamps, in which the concept of using a different neural network with an increased data set prepared by the authors is presented. The Deep Network Designer tool included in the Matlab 2022b environment was used. The solution using the GoogLeNet neural network allows for the classification of lamps with an accuracy of 88.37%. © 2023 Division of Signal Processing and Electronic Systems, Poznan University of Technology (DSPES PUT).

Various control methods have been presented to prevent the occurrence of instability in power systems, among which, it seems that methods based on the special protection system (SPS) are more effective and efficient than other ones. In this article, a SPS using the capabilities of large-scale photovoltaic power plants (LSPVPPs) is presented to prevent frequency increase and instability in power systems. According to the presented algorithm, when frequency increases, the proposed SPS uses the ability of photovoltaic power plants to quickly change their generation powers based on the operating point and frequency changes to prevent frequency instability. To confirm the proposal, LSPVPPs along with their controllers are modeled in the DSL environment of DIgSILENT PowerFactory software. The proposed SPS is implemented and tested on the IEEE 39-bus test system and the results of dynamic simulations show that this SPS prevents frequency instability in different conditions by taking timely measures. © 2023 IEEE.

The article focuses on analysing financial indicators according to the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI) standard, examining metrics across seven selected hotel entities in Poland. It identifies Gross Operating Profit (GOP) as a crucial metric. Through wavelet coherence analysis, the research aims to reveal the temporal relationships and determine the impact of specific USALI components on the GOP within these hotels. In health care, it is crucial to organize patient care and resources based on the urgency level so that patients whose lives are in danger are treated as a priority. This study introduces a new algorithm, created in C# using new technologies such as ChatGPT, to improve the sorting and prioritizing of patients based on the National Urgency Level. The algorithm aims to demonstrate the possibility of real-time reporting of the occupancy level of all hospitals. This way, patients can head to the nearest and most available hospital based on both proximity and urgency level. To identify the urgency level, the algorithm utilizes a widely used external service, ChatGPT. Additionally, the algorithm calculates the average waiting time based on the number of patients, their urgency level, and the number of on-duty doctors. To achieve these goals, the algorithm's implementation has been carried out using modern technologies, such as C# programming language, ranging from the artificial intelligence service ChatGPT to entity framework for managing data in the Microsoft database. The article addresses two major issues, namely text-based classification into a specific category based on common characteristics, such as a patient's symptoms concerning a specific urgency level. The second issue is represented by the proposed calculation formula for real-time estimation of waiting time, based on the identified urgency level. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

In the paper, the design and Simulink implementation of a predictive current control structure in dq frame for a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) are presented. Starting from the multivariable model of the currents in the dq reference frame, first it is decoupled and through the rejection of the disturbance introduced by the back-EMF, two single-input single-output (SISO) systems result whose dynamics are generated by R-L circuits. For these SISO systems, the model predictive control (MPC) algorithms are designed that allow the consideration of physical limitations through constraints The performances of the current control structure with MPC algorithms are compared with those obtained with the conventional PI controllers. © 2023 IEEE.

In the era of artificial intelligence and real-time applications, the demand for swift data processing on large volumes has become paramount. This article delves into the critical role of programming languages and frameworks in meeting these requirements. With a focus on web development, the study conducts a comparative analysis of eight classic sorting algorithms—Bubble Sort, Insertion Sort, Selection Sort, Merge Sort, Quick Sort, Heap Sort, Introspective Sort, and Shell Sort—evaluated in two prominent programming languages, PHP and C#. The research emphasizes the importance of selecting programming tools based on performance criteria in the context of modern applications. Next, a new formula for assessing the complexity of sorted words was introduced, aiming to scrutinize its impact on sorting time. Furthermore, a comparative analysis was conducted, evaluating the implementation of sorting in C# using arrays versus lists. The article sought to delineate the intricacies associated with each approach, considering computational efficiency and resource utilization. Formation control is currently a popular field of research due to the increasing application areas of unmanned aerial vehicles. Of concern is the stability of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) formation while tracking especially under the influence of disturbances, and model parameter uncertainty. Since formation of the UAV formation while tracking, especially flying involves a mutual cooperation, consensus-based techniques are more suited such that a group of UAVs are collectively coordinated to perform some tasks. In this paper, a leader–follower formation control of homogeneous fixed wing UAVs based on model reference adaptive control with an integral error control compensation is presented. Model reference adaptive control is powerful and effective for handling uncertain and varying dynamics. This proposed distributed composite control strategy with a directed graph topology, although model-dependent can be effective to suppress disturbances affecting the vehicles, while achieving consensus-based tracking of a reference path. The numerical simulation results given show the applicability of this proposed control strategy. © 2025 Budapest University of Technology and Economics. All rights reserved.

This study proposes methods that can be used to examine and interpret comments that users have made after watching videos on YouTube on a particular topic. YouTube tutorials are very popular among young people. They have become an important pillar in informal education, thus contributing to the rapid acquisition of skills and knowledge. Under these circumstances, we were interested in analysing the YouTube videos comments, knowing that the platform has a continuous increase in popularity, which is also due to the opportunities of sharing them. Since ChatGPT-themed YouTube videos have seen a significant surge in popularity since 2022, we were interested to analyse some videos that approach the topics of 'ChatGPT, AI clone, AI robot and Deep Learning.' © 2024 IEEE.
