The paper presents a test system for measuring air pollution based on a unmanned aerial vehicle. Thanks to the usage of multi-socket microprocessor system, it is possible to measure simultaneously up to six different chemical compounds. Additionally, the humidity and pressure on the platform are measured. The wireless connection enables to save data locally and remotely. Data evaluation is performed by the flying unit carrying the designed and manufactured by authors device. The test was performed on the industrial cement plant site. Measurement results were visualised according to flight coordinates.

This paper discusses the issue of dependability of a measuring system from the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) point of view. During the tests, the equipment for conducting electromagnetic compatibility tests was used. The tests were carried out in accordance with the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and the harmonized standard IEC 61000-4-6. The measuring system equipped with non-classical piezoelectric transducers called MFC was considered. The MFC transducer was used as a sensor connected to the NI 9191 CompactDAQ Chassis. During the research, the influence of conducted disturbances on the transmission wire was examined. One of the elements of the test bench was an EM-clamp (providing both inductive and capacitive coupling) consisting of a tube of split ferrite rings of two different grades, which can be clamped over the cable under test in a non-invasive way.

The subject of the article is a simulation of heat affected components of a device for deep drawing by extreme conditions in vacuum by high temperatures required for forming of crystallization containers made from thin molybdenum sheets. The simulation is focused on the distribution of heat in particular components in relation with their shape. There are presented the design of working components and the boundary conditions of transient thermal simulations with the results.

The paper presents an optimizing method of energy parameters of three-phase induction motor in order to improve their efficiency class from IE2 to 1E3 or IE4. These efficiency classes are defined in the European standard IEC 60034-301:2014. The optimization is performed using specific software by successively adjusting the geometry and the technology. The results have been validated by experiments within the UMEB SA laboratories. The three-phase induction motor that has been analyzed has a rated output of 45 kW, 380V (delta connection), rated speed 1475 rot/min and squirrel-cage rotor type.

This paper presents the new laboratory test rig of the vertical axis flexible shaft supported by two active magnetic bearings. Behind the motivation of establishing this setup is the control of vibration modes of the flexible rotor - shaft assembly, while the rotational speed varies and the unbalanced mass on the whirling disc is introduced to the system. The proposed model is aimed to simulate real operation conditions of the rotating machinery with an applied external load, with a variable structure caused by a change of material properties of the rotor - shaft assembly, or due to a fault of some elements coupled with the rotor.

Occupant comfort and energy cost are the dual, explicit or implicit, objectives of advanced control strategies implemented in smart buildings. Focusing on the former, we present a novel approach for data-driven modeling of user comfort and a path for integrating the resulting models in a generic predictive framework for optimal HVAC control. This offers significant improvement potential over the static scheduling or occupancy based temperature bounds.
