The aim of this project is to develop an application which allows the user to automatize solving problems based on differential equations. The user of the application which was created especially for this thesis should have the possibility of defining equations by the graphical block diagramming interface. The application includes two different kinds of solving methods: local and distributed one. In these two cases every part of solving algorithm (which can work independently) is parallelized. The FEMM program was included in the solver module as an external one. A modification of FEMM program source has been done. Thus, the new LUA language features (shared memory and sockets communication commands) have been added.

Operating wind turbines produce infrasound noise thus they act on the environment. This also applies to small wind turbines, which are located in the immediate vicinity of human settlements. Small wind turbines can be located close to buildings and mounted directly on their walls and roofs. In this case, it is important to determine the level of environmental impact of such type of installation. Measurement results of infrasound noise generated by a small vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT), rated power 1 kW, are presented in the paper. Analysis results of sound pressure level and dependence of signal spectra from different wind speeds are shown. In the analysis of sound pressure level the G weighing curve was used according to the ISO 7196:2002 standard and achieved results were referred to the limits contained in the current legislation, what allowed for evaluation of the infrasound noise impact of the turbine under study.

Analysis results of sound pressure level of infrasound noise generated by high-power wind turbine Vensys type 62, which is operated for five years with an electrical capacity of 1.2 MW, are presented in the paper. Frequency and time-frequency spectrograms calculated for recorded low-frequency signals with respect to all registered changes of electrical power generated and the number of rotor revolutions per minute are presented. All measured sound pressure levels have been evaluated with and without the use of G weighting curve, which have helped to determine the size of infrasound impact of turbines and to analyze the influence of regarded parameters on this impact range of changes. Values obtained from measurement were referred to and compared with the limits specified in legislations existing in this area.

Although it is known that Gaussian elimination method for solving simultaneous linear equations is not asymptotically optimal, it is still one of the most useful methods for solving systems of moderate size. This paper proposes some ideas how to speed-up the standard method. First, the trick which takes the advantage of the eventual symmetry of the system is presented, which speeds up the calculation by the factor slightly less than 2. Second, it is shown that by using some rearrangement of the calculation, it is possible to get additional speed-up, no matter whether the system is symmetric or not, although the eventual symmetry additionally doubles the execution speed. This rearrangement is performed using similar approach as in LU factorization, but retaining basic features of the Gaussian elimination method, like producing the triangular form of the system. As the required modifications in the original method are quite simple, the improved method may be used in all engineering applications where the original Gaussian elimination is used.

Gain scheduling (GS) is one of the most popular approaches to nonlinear control design and it is known that GS controllers have better performance than robust controllers. Following the terminology in controlengineering linear parameter-varying (LPV) systems are time-varying plants whose state space matrices are fixed functions of some vector of varying parameters. Our approach is based on considering the LPV system and scheduling parameter and their derivatives with respect to time are supposed to lie in a priori given hyper rectangles. For guarantee the performance we use the notion of guaranteed cost and optimised to given a cost function. The class of control structure includes decentralised fixed order output feedback like PID controller. Numerical examples illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

This paper describes the capabilities of fuzzy logic based controllers in the process of pneumatic active suspension of a heavy vehicle seat vibrations. The pneumatic active suspension system is introduced to solve conflicting requirements of comfort and handling. The air spring is used as an active element and the damper is used as passive element for reducing vibrations. The usage of the active air spring enhances passenger comfort by comparison with passive, semi-active and active hydraulic suspension, during long time drives at a very bumpy road. Description of the seat, including its mechanical characteristics, is given in the paper. The mathematical model was created according to the physical setup of the vehicle seat at the testing laboratory. MATLAB and Simulink are used as tools for developing the simulation model of the driver seat. control system description and implementation at the experimental setup using dSPACE module, are also explained. The SEAT value is used for the validation of control quality. The obtained simulations show that the developed road adaptive suspension controllers provide superior driver's comfort for most difficult types of road.
