The Internet of Things (IoT) stands as a revolutionary leap in digital connectivity, envisioning a future network connecting billions of devices, seamlessly. Amidst the myriad benefits, there arises an intricate web of challenges, prominently centered around potential threats and data security implications. Recent cryptography techniques, such as DNA-based cryptography, 3D chaos-based cryptography, and optical cryptography, face challenges including large encryption times, high energy consumption, and suboptimal rather than optimal performance. Particularly, the burden of long encryption cycles strains the energy resources of typical low-power and compact IoT devices. These challenges render the devices vulnerable to unauthorized breaches, despite large storage capacities. The hallmark of the IoT ecosystem, characterized by its low-power compact devices, is the burgeoning volume of data they generate. This escalating data influx, while necessitating expansive storage, remains vulnerable to unauthorized access and breaches. Historically, encryption algorithms, with their multifaceted architectures, have been the bulwark against such intrusions. However, their inherently-complex nature, entailing multiple encryption cycles, strains the limited energy reserves of typical IoT devices. In response to this intricate dilemma, we present a hybrid lightweight encryption strategy. Our algorithm innovatively leverages both one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) chaotic key generators. Furthermore, it amalgamates a classical encryption philosophy, harmonizing the strengths of Feistel and substitution-permutation networks. The centerpiece of our strategy is achieving effective encryption in merely three rounds, tailored expressly for compressed Three-Dimensional Video (3DV) frames, ensuring their unwavering integrity. The CloudIoT paradigm has profoundly transformed the healthcare industry, providing outstanding innovation and practical applications. However, despite its many advantages, the adoption of this paradigm in healthcare settings remains limited. There is a lack of comprehensive understanding of the factors that ensure successful implementation. To address this issue, we have used the Analytic Hierarchy Process to prioritize 26 factors that could potentially influence the adoption of CloudIoT-based healthcare. These factors were derived from existing literature and categorized into four main groups: personal-specific, technology-specific, environment-specific, and organization-specific factors. Our findings revealed that performance expectancy, trust, facilitating conditions, task complexity, and perceived security are the top five critical factors influencing CloudIoT-based healthcare adoption. Interestingly, our results indicated that environmental factors were less influential than those in the other categories, with personal, technological, and organizational factors dominating the top ten significant factors. The insights from this study can help policymakers, CloudIoT service providers, healthcare providers, designers, and developers better understand the factors contributing to the successful implementation of CloudIoT-based healthcare. Novel Adaptive Control for Flexible-Joint Robots with Unknown Measurement Sensitivity

For the existing tracking control schemes of flexible-joint robots, precise sensor measurement is an implicit premise. However, idealized sensors are difficult to achieve due to manufacturing technology or other external factors. To this end, this paper further investigates the tracking control problem for flexible-joint robots with unknown measurement sensitivity. Specifically, for such multi-input multi-output Euler-Lagrange systems with completely unknown system dynamics, a novel measurement values-based adaptive control method is proposed by fusing sensitivity information and system variables into Lyapunov function candidates, where the restriction on system states in other the approximation lemma-based results is removed, since unknown nonlinearities are scaled by the structural characteristics of system variables. Above all, even if there are measurement errors, satisfactory tracking performance can be obtained by adjusting the design parameters, which is proved by rigorous theoretical analysis. Finally, hardware experiments further verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. Note to Practitioners - This work is motivated by the trajectory tracking control problem for flexible-joint robots under imprecise sensor measurements. Due to manufacturing technology limitations and component aging, there is inevitably a deviation between the measured values of sensors and real values, and this problem may become more prominent as the working environment of flexible-joint robots tends to become more complex. To our knowledge, most of the existing solutions for flexible-joint robots are developed based on precise sensor measurements, and they may fail to achieve satisfactory performance when real state information is not available. A Game Theoretic Link Scheduler for Wireless Networks with Heterogeneous Energy Sources

Poverty is considered a serious global issue that must be immediately eradicated by Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1, namely ending poverty anywhere and in any form. As a developing country, poverty is a complex issue faced by Indonesia. Tackling poverty in Indonesia has become a key focus of the government’s strategic priorities. This issue of poverty is experienced by all provinces in Indonesia, including Central Java. The poverty rate in Central Java stands at 10.77% or 3.79 million people. The causes of poverty are explained by several factors. Using these various factors, a mapping model can be conducted to determine the number of poor populations in Central Java. This research employs Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) and Mixed Geographically Weighted Regression (MGWR) approaches to compare the effectiveness of these models in analyzing the number of poor populations in Central Java in 2023. The kernel function weighting used in this study is Fixed Gaussian. The results showed that the MGWR model outperformed both the OLS regression and GWR models, achieving an Akaike information Criterion (AIC) of 62.766, an R2 of 82.3%, and a Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 0.177. Consequently, it can be inferred that the MGWR model was more suitable for explaining the poverty levels in Central Java. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). All Rights Reserved.

Job Resumes Recommendation using Integration of Fuzzy Discernibility Matrix Feature Selection and Convolutional Neural Network Multi-label Text Classification

The manual analysis of job resumes poses specific challenges, including the time-intensive process and the high likelihood of human error, emphasizing the need for automation in content-based recommendations. Recent advancements in deep learning, particularly Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for Multi-label Text Classification (MLTC), offer a promising solution for addressing these challenges through artificial intelligence. While CNN is renowned for its robust feature extraction capabilities, it faces specific challenges such as managing high-dimensional data and poor data interpretability. To address these limitations, this study employs the Fuzzy Discernibility Matrix (FDM) feature selection technique to determine the relevance of skills for each job vacancy. FDM assigns weights to the features of each job category and ranks their relevance based on the highest scores, which are then utilized in the MLTC CNN model. The integration of FDM and MLTC CNN serves as the foundation for generating content-based recommendations derived from key features in job resumes. This study produces a content-based job recommendation system that displays the top three job categories, accompanied by explanations of the skills supporting each selected category. These recommendations also consider cosine similarity values between analyzed items and the integrated results of FDM and MLTC CNN. The application of FDM for feature weighting has been proven to enhance multi-label text classification outcomes by providing better insights during the feature selection process. With a recall of 97.26%, precision of 94.81%, and accuracy of 98.58%, the MLTC model integrating FDM feature selection and CNN demonstrates robust performance characteristics in content-based job recommendation tasks. © 2025 Slovene Society Informatika. Modeling the Percentage of NEET in Indonesia with Spatial Cauchy Regression through the Bayesian Analysis Approach

Indonesia has entered a period of demographic bonus. Human resources must be optimized. The number of children who do not in employment, education or training (NEET) in each province needs attention. Several factors that could contribute to the decline in the NEET percentage are literacy rates and the number of adolescents with computer skills. Increasing these two factors is believed to be able to reduce the percentage of NEET in every province in Indonesia. To find out the relationship between these two factors and how much influence they have on the percentage of NEET, this research is modeled by Cauchy regression and includes spatial effects. The results of the analysis show that the best model is when the spatial effect is modeled by Fernandez Steel Skew Normal conditionally autoregressive (FSSN CAR). This result is seen from the smallest value of the Watanabe Akaike information Criterion (WAIC) in this model, which is 190.5. The parameter estimated shows that the higher the literacy rate and the number of adolescents with computer skills, the lower the percentage of NEET in each province in Indonesia. The results of this research can be useful for the Indonesian government to increase the number of educational facilities related to these two factors. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). In the ever-evolving landscape of urban development, innovative solutions are constantly sought to improve the quality of life of residents. Moving away from conventional static street lighting, one such transformative solution for residential environments is smart street lighting. This intelligent solution brings an increase in energy efficiency. In this paper, the goal is to analyze the implementation of smart street lighting within the concept of a smart city based on the possibilities of saving and efficient use of energy. In selected case studies of urban scenarios, through simulation procedures, the possibility of implementing smart lighting was analyzed from the point of view of energy saving, indicating the importance of this aspect in the context of building smart energy lighting systems in urban environments. The discussions given in the paper show a quantitative assessment of energy savings in urban areas by replacing traditional lighting systems. The results of the analyzes show that the analyzed solutions provide useful guidelines for the application of the concept of smart lighting in urban environments and the selection of suitable solutions with regard to possible reductions in energy costs. © 2024 University of Split, FESB.

Dynamic UAV Deployment in Multi-UAV Wireless Networks: A Multimodal-Feature-Based Deep Reinforcement Learning Approach

The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as aerial base stations has attracted increasing research interest in recent years. A key challenge in this field is determining how to deploy multiple UAVs in dynamic environments, particularly where mobile user demands fluctuate. To address this challenge, this article presents an adaptive UAV deployment scheme in a dynamic multi-UAV wireless network, considering the mobility of UAVs and users, state variability, and adjustable UAV transmission power. By jointly optimizing the UAVs’ operational modes, transmission power levels, and movement strategies, our objective is to achieve a tradeoff between minimizing power consumption and maximizing ground user coverage. A deep reinforcement learning (DRL) approach is proposed to address these challenges. To capture the dynamic variations of users and UAVs in the environment, a multimodal feature state space is designed, consisting of both a multichannel image and vectors. The image component integrates real-time data on user distribution and the UAV coverage area, while the vectors represent UAV operational modes, position data, and system temporal information. These multimodal features are processed using a combination of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and multilayer perceptrons (MLPs) for advanced feature extraction. To enhance training stability and efficiency, the proposed approach updates parameters using the proximal policy optimization (PPO) method. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme in balancing power consumption and coverage while effectively managing system dynamics. © 2014 IEEE.
