Human action identification is a practical area of study with broad applicability in various domains, such as medical care, sport science, and manufacturing management. In logistics, it is essential to identify and examine individual actions, enabling machines to perceive and comprehend human motions for non-verbal interaction. This study specifically fo-cuses on efficiently classifying working activities in the logistics industry using wearable sensors, particularly in the context of human activity recognition. To achieve the research objective, a deep residual neural network was introduced, integrating convolutional layers, shortcut connections, and aggregated transformation for human activity recognition in logistics. The authors evaluated the effectiveness of their proposed deep learning model using the publicly accessible LARa dataset. The LARa dataset comprises a diverse range of human actions in the logistics domain, including standing, walking, cart handling, and synchronization. The details of activity were captured using wearable sensors affixed to different anatomical sites of the study participants. The experimental findings indicate that the model achieved a maximum F-measure of 85.30%. © 2023 IEEE.

This article aims to propose a finite element formulation based on Quasi-3D theory for the static bending analysis of functionally graded porous(FGP)sandwich *** FGP sandwich plates consist of three layers including the bottom skin of homogeneous metal,the top skin of fully ceramic and the FGP core layer with uneven porosity distribution.A quadrilateral(Q4)element with nine degrees of freedom(DOFs)per node is derived and employed in analyzing the static bending response of the plate under uniform and/or sinusoidally distributed *** accuracy of the present finite element formulation is verified by comparing the obtained numerical results with the published results in the ***,some numerical examples are performed to examine the effects of the parameters including power-law index k and porosity coefficient on the static bending response of rectangular FGP sandwich *** addition,a problem with a complicated L-shape model is conducted to illustrate the superiority of the proposed finite element method.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a long-lasting, degenerative brain illness for which there is now no successful treatment. However, there are medications that can delay its growth and stop its tracks. Therefore, stopping and regulating the progression of AD depends greatly on its early diagnosis. computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) in health care has become more and more dependent on deep learning technologies. This has help in early diagnosis and detection of various disease in health care. New techniques for the early diagnosis of neurocognitive abnormalities are now possible thanks to advancements in medical imaging and computational capacity in an effort to stop or slow down cognitive aging. Therefore, this study proposes a residual network (ResNet) type 50 for early diagnosis of AD. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are first used in the study for features extraction and then make the ultimate diagnosis using the ResNet-50. To create a better architecture, the problem of AD diagnosis will be addressed by utilizing and incorporating ResNet-50, which improves the current categorization problem's accuracy to its maximum. With a 98.8% accuracy rate, the proposed model using ResNet-50 produces encouraging findings for AD prediction. The study reveals that the model can effectively circumvent CNNs for the diagnostic issue with AD. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Gait Sequence Upsampling using Diffusion Models for Single LiDAR Sensors

Recently, 3D LiDAR has emerged as a promising technique in the field of gait-based person identification, serving as an alternative to traditional RGB cameras, due to its robustness under varying lighting conditions and its ability to capture 3D geometric information. However, long capture distances or the use of low-cost LiDAR sensors often result in sparse human point clouds, leading to a decline in identification performance. To address these challenges, we propose a sparse-to-dense upsampling model for pedestrian point clouds in LiDAR-based gait recognition, named LidarGSU, which is designed to improve the generalization capability of existing identification models. Our method utilizes diffusion probabilistic models (DPMs), which have shown high fidelity in generative tasks such as image completion. In this work, we leverage DPMs on sparse sequential pedestrian point clouds as conditional masks in a video-to-video translation approach, applied in an inpainting manner. We conducted extensive experiments on the SUSTeck1K dataset to evaluate the generative quality and recognition performance of the proposed method. Furthermore, we demonstrate the applicability of our upsampling model using a real-world dataset, captured with a low-resolution sensor across varying measurement distances. Stereo matching is the key of reconstructing 3D face model from 2D face images and Barnard's algorithm is one of the classical stereo matching algorithms based on feature points. In order to enhance the stability of extracting feature points, reduce computational complexity and minimize the effect of subjective factors, in this paper, Barnard's algorithm of edge point matching was improved from two aspects: edge point sets of left and right face images were extracted with dyadic wavelet transform, rather than comparing gray values of adjacent pixels; on the other hand, edge points in binocular stereo face images were matched under epipolar constraint in parallel binocular stereo matching. Experimental results demonstrate that stability and efficiency of stereo matching algorithm are both improved.

Recognizing hand-drawn sketches is a promising starting point for various applications, such as assisting artists in creating 3D environments for games or virtual environment scenes quickly and efficiently from concept arts. In addition, by understanding drawings, we can generate 3D models that can be used for further design and development. Thus, in this paper, we aim to develop a novel lightweight network that can accurately recognize sketch drawings. We propose a lightweight-yet-efficient neural network based on MobileNetV2 for sketch recognition and employ knowledge distillation to train the proposed model from EfficientNet-B4. To evaluate the accuracy of the proposed method, we collect a dataset of sketches comprising 1800 drawings in 12 categories, ranging from furniture to animals. The experimental results show that our network model achieves an accuracy of 96.7%, with 96.9% precision, 96.7% recall, and 96.7% F1-score. These results demonstrate that the proposed approach has great potential for practical sketch recognition applications, such as interior design or VR scene generation. © 2023 IEEE.

Step response method is a method for detection of foreign metal objects in the proximity of the transmitter coil in WPT system. It is based on a measurement of the resonant frequency of the transmitter’s LC tank. As such, it can be used on the fly, while the wireless power transfer takes place, and it should have low impact on WPT system performance. This paper discusses drawbacks of the step response method with respect to required modifications of the transmitter and receiver circuits, and also the impact it has on the DC power supply through increased inrush currents. The discussion is verified through measurements on the built prototype with implemented step response method.

This paper presents the development of low-cost CPR machine which will be applicable to both adult and neonates. With the prevalence cardiopulmonary problems among the people of all ages of and the incompetence of people around the development of such automated and portable CPR machine can be a gift of science and technology to mass people. This proposed CPR machine has three parts. First part is the motor-controller that receives the power from the source and controls the motor of the actuator with the instruction given by Arduino Uno. Second part is the actuator itself which will provide linear motion and the third part is a frame which is set to hold the actuator. The pressure applied to the victim will be thoroughly controlled by the Arduino Uno and the motor driver, which applies the measured pressure. Rate of compression (30 compressions-per-minute for neonates and 120 compressions per minute for adults) is maintained by microcontroller (Arduino Uno). The proposed CPR machine shows very good performance for both elderly and neonates in quite low cost compared to the existing technology. © 2022 IEEE.

Discrete chaotic systems based on memristors exhibit excellent dynamical properties and are more straightforward to implement in hardware, making them highly suitable for generating cryptographic keystreams. However, most existing memristor-based chaotic systems rely on a single memristor. This paper introduces a novel discrete chaotic system employing dual memristors, named the 3D memristive cubic map with dual discrete memristors (3D-MCM). The 3D-MCM system demonstrates richer and more intricate dynamical behaviors compared to its single-memristor counterparts, as verified through bifurcation diagrams, Lyapunov exponent spectra, and complexity analyses. Notably, the system exhibits coexisting attractors, substantially enhancing its dynamical complexity. Hardware implementation of the 3D-MCM attractors confirms its feasibility for industrial applications. To illustrate the system's potential in encryption tasks, this study integrates the quaternary-based permutation and dynamic emanating diffusion (QPDED-IE) scheme for image encryption with the *** results demonstrate that the QPDED-IE scheme based on the 3D-MCM exhibits strong diffusion and confusion properties, effectively resisting cryptanalytic attacks. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Computational Geometry and picture-based Modeling are methods of reading and visualizing gadgets in three-dimensional space. These techniques are used to generate correct 3-D models of gadgets by taking pictures a huge number of photographs of the object from one-of-a-kind angles and then using algorithms and software programs to create a three-D version. Computational Geometry techniques permit the automated extraction of spatial features, which includes edges and vertices from photos, at the same time as photograph-based Modeling makes use of identical techniques to provide a 3-D model from a set of 2D pics. The resulting 3D version faithfully reproduces the details of the object's shape. It might provide an expansion of beneficial records inclusive of the distance between factors, floor area, volume, and relative positioning of objects. Furthermore, these strategies can be used to exactly overlay three-D fashions on the second pix, taking into consideration higher interpretation and evaluation of physical objects. © 2024 IEEE.
