This paper studies a new modification of the anti-synchronization chaos shift keying scheme for the secure encryption and decryption of data. A new concept of the detection of the correct/incorect binary value in the receiver is used. The method proposed here requires very reasonable amount of data to encrypt and time to decrypt a single bit. Basically, to encrypt a single bit, only one iteration is needed. Moreover, the security of this method is systematically investigated showing its good resistance to typical decryption attacks. Theoretical results are supported by the numerical simulations.

Robust stability is an important aspect in control of real world systems, since uncertainties have to be considered in dynamic system models. The basic required quality of the system is its stability in the whole uncertainty domain called robust stability. This paper studies the robust decentralized controller design for a quadruple tank process, [3,4]. For this case study, several important aspects of system analysis are shown (pairing, stabilizability via decentralized control). The main contribution is the decentralized PID controller design in both frequency and time domains, analysis and comparison of results. The obtained results are supported by simulations used to demonstrate and compare the different approaches.

The new BMI based method for robust stabilizing PID controller design for linear uncertain system is proposed. The general constrained structure of controller matrix is considered which is appropriate both for output feedback and decentralized control. The developed control design scheme aims at robust stabilization with guaranteed cost. The extended quadratic performance index is used including the first derivative of the state vector to damp oscillations. The obtained results use parameter-dependent Lyapunov function to reduce conservatism of robust stability conditions.

In this paper the practical BIBO stability concept introduced by Agathoklis and Bruton is analyzed with respect to its applicability in the field of signal processing applications. In the field of n-D signal processing signals are often bounded to all but one dimension like be the time-direction of a spatio-temporal signal, for instance. This property makes the use of systems which meet the conditions of practical BIBO stability, mainly known from the field of control theory, appear to be feasible. However, it can be shown hat practical stability in its original form is not sufficient in signal processing if not further conditions are supposed. This is done by comparing the 2D Fourier transform of the actually measured impulse response of exemplary systems to the frequency response expected on basis of the transfer function. Additionally, an application example is given to verify the presented observations.

This paper aims to further improve previously developed design for Acrobot walking based on partial exact feedback linearization of order 3. Namely, such an exact system transformation leads to an almost linear system where error dynamics along trajectory to be tracked is a 4-dimensional linear time-varying system having 3 time-varying entries only, the remaining entries being either zero or one. In such a way, exponentially stable tracking can be obtained by quadratically stabilizing a linear system with polytopic uncertainty. The current improvement is based on applying LMI methods to solve this problem numerically. This careful analysis significantly improves previously known approaches. Numerical simulations of Acrobot walking based on the above mentioned LMI design are demonstrated as well.
