electrical grids are increasingly congested, which causes stability and safety risks. To get more insights in how congestion can be managed, this paper analyses whether bus characteristics exist that have a consistent influence on grid loading. To study this, a metric for quantifying bus influence on grid loading is introduced and applied in two case studies. The first case study investigates if there are characteristics that correlate with congestion consistently, regardless of grid topology. The results from this case study suggest that none of the evaluated characteristics consistently correlate with grid loading. These results imply that topology should be explicitly considered in congestion management. The second case study investigates the variance in the correlation between bus characteristics and influence, within a single topology, over a variety of conditions. The results of the second case study suggest that this correlation is robust to reasonable changes in bus loads. © 2024 IEEE.

In this work, a novel methodological approach to multi-attribute decision-making problems is developed and the notion of Heptapartitioned Neutrosophic Set Distance Measures (HNSDM) is introduced. By averaging the Penta-Partitioned Neutrosophic Distance Measures under particular conditional criteria, the suggested technique ranks the options. Additionally, we explore the fundamental characteristics of HNSDM and provide several illustrative theorems. The Heptapartitioned Neutrosophic Set Distance Measures are formulated based on the Hepta Neutrosophic Set. Lastly, a practical numerical example is provided to illustrate the efficacy of the suggested methodology. © 2025, University of New Mexico. All rights reserved.

Simplicial convolutional filters can process signals defined over levels of a simplicial complex such as nodes, edges, triangles, and so on with applications in e.g., flow prediction in transportation or financial networks. However, the underlying topology expands over time in a way that new edges and triangles form. For example, in a transportation network, a new connection between two locations is newly built, or in a currency exchange market, two currencies can be exchanged without an intermediate currency that can be understood as a new edge between them. To handle the streaming nature of data, we propose an online prediction for edge flows which generalizes to other higher-order simplicial signals. This is achieved by updating the filter coefficients via an online gradient descent with a provable sub-linear regret relative to the simplicial filter optimized over the whole sequence of edge flows. The update of the filter coefficients associated with the lower and upper Hodge Laplacians can be uncoupled in general. We test the online edge flow prediction on an expanding synthetic simplicial complex and a coauthorship complex showing a close performance to the offline counterpart. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose two self-adaptive extragradient-like algorithms for solving pseudomonotone variational inequalities. We consider two cases: the mapping is Lipschitz continuous (with unknown modulus) and is not Lipschitz continuous. The step size in our algorithms can either increase or decrease at each step. This feature makes our algorithms more efficient. We also give some numerical examples to compare the performance of our algorithm with the existing one. ©2024 Applied Set-Valued Analysis and Optimization.

CuO nanoparticles are used for p-type thin film transistor integration at low temperatures. The gate dielectric layer is a spin-on nanocomposite resin with a dielectric constant of about 8. Transistors show low-voltage operation with high on/off-ratios at limited charge carrier mobility. Combined with ZnO nanoparticles for n-type transistors, inverter structures with common nickel metallization depict basic operation, although amplification and operating points need to be improved. © 2023 IEEE.

Fitting a polynomial to observed data is an ubiquitous task in many signal processing and machine learning tasks, such as interpolation and prediction. In that context, input and output pairs are available and the goal is to find the coefficients of the polynomial. However, in many applications, the input may be partially known or not known at all, rendering conventional regression approaches not applicable. In this paper, we formally state the (potentially partial) blind regression problem, illustrate some of its theoretical properties, and propose an algorithmic approach to solve it. As a case-study, we apply our methods to a jitter-correction problem and corroborate its performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Current spatiotemporal learning methods for complex data exploit the graph structure as an inductive bias to restrict the function space and improve data and computation efficiency. However, these methods work principally on graphs with a fixed size, whereas in several applications there are expanding graphs where new nodes join the network;e.g., new sensors joining a sensor network or new users joining a recommender system. This paper focuses on the non-trivial extension of spatiotemporal methods to this setting, where now it is key to jointly capture both the topological and signal dynamics. Specifically, it considers a graph vector autoregressive (GVAR) model for multivariate time series. The GVAR is a multivariate linear model that leverages a bank of graph filters allowing scalability and data efficiency. To account for the dynamic nature of the graphs, the filters's parameters are learned on-the-fly via adaptive gradient descent with provable sub-linear regret. Numerical results on both synthetic and real data corroborate the proposed method. © 2023 IEEE.

Privacy concerns the majority of individuals, governments, and organizations that share data over dissimilar networks of nodes. Every kind of participant requires awareness of the data journey that unfolds inside a blockchain network with its own trustworthy rules of data management and accessibility. This paper provides a methodological approach on privacy for data sharing within blockchain environments. Specific technological aspects of blockchains that relate to on-chain privacy such as network nature, party join, smart contracts, blockchain states, transactions, and ledger flows, are analysed with respect to the involvement and impact of privacy in distributed ledgers. A high-level architectural approach is suggested that is intended to address significant privacy concerns on data sharing among different kinds of users in the context of blockchain networks deployment and the broader Web 3.0 ecosystem building. Simultaneously, many pertinent challenges are discussed regarding network nature, configurable privacy, ownership, confidentiality, secured computation, and data monetization that appear in the field and ought to be carefully tackled for the future mass adoption of privacy-matured distributed ledgers that interconnect delivering the future Internet. © 2023 The Authors. Edge detection using the Prewitt operator with fractional order telegraph partial differential equations (PreFOTPDE)

Detecting edges in image processing is an important process in image analysis or enhancement. Many methods detected edge information based on the differences in brightness values. Prewitt, the most widely used edge detection method, performs the extraction of edges by partial differential calculation. This study performed fractional order partial differential calculation with the Telegraph equation in the Prewitt method calculation. Filter coefficients are determined by using Grumwald-Letnikov series expansion for fractional partial differential equation calculation. To determine the most appropriate fraction value, five different coefficients were tried. The proposed method is compared with the conventional edge detection methods Sobel, Canny and standard Prewitt. The obtained result showed that the proposed method detects the edges more accurately. In addition, it has been compared with Prewitt fractional order edge detection (FOED) and edge detection method based on ant colony optimization (ACO) methods developed in recent years. Pratt's figure of merit (FOM) metric was used to compare these studies. This research motive is to present more realistic results through the fractional order derivatives of the Robots mathematical system (FORMS), which is used to detect the coronavirus-positive cases. This nonlinear FORMS is useful to prevent individuals from the coronavirus and its spread. The classification of mathematical system is categorized into two dynamics, infected and Robots. The designed FORMS has never been solved before through the stochastic Levenberg–Marquardt backpropagation (LBMBP) neural networks (NNs), i.e., LBMBP-NNs. The solution of three cases of the FORMS is presented along with the statistics of 76% training, 12% authorization and 12% testing. To observe the exactness of LBMBP-NNs, a reference dataset is constructed using the Adams scheme. For the validation and capability of LBMBP-NNs, the illustrations are drawn based on the state transition values, regression measures, correlation performances and error histograms. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.
