The transformer-based inverters in PV systems increase the weight, size, and cost of the inverter while reducing efficiency. This research presents a new PV inverter topology to increase efficiency using a reduction of dc-link. The proposed multilevel inverter is comprised of six power switches, one discrete diode, and three capacitors to produce five voltage levels. The proposed inverter is connected to a PV panel at input and a local grid at output to inject a sinusoidal current waveform into the grid. To control the grid current, a finite set model predictive control is needed to evaluate the proposed inverter. A comparison study is carried out between the proposal and other five-level inverters to verify the strengths and weaknesses of the proposed multilevel inverter. Finally, to demonstrate the performance of the proposed multilevel inverter, the simulation results are presented in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. © 2022 IEEE.

A robotic system, in general, should be safe for the operators who are using it and, if possible, it should be safe for the system itself and the environment it interacts with. This paper investigates three methods for human detection by an RGB-D camera and their adjustments for monitored robot movement. The methods are implemented in ROS and integrated into a robotic system consisting of an industrial robot arm ABB IRB-2400L and an RGB-D camera. Validation and comparison of the implemented algorithms was performed on the recorded video dataset containing people in the robot working area with per-frame annotations of human presence, velocity and proximity to the robot. The algorithms detect humans with highest recall of 98%.

Interoperability is broad and complex subject being the most critical issue facing businesses that need to access information from multiple systems. The concept of unwanted interoperability can result in fault decision making based on counterfeit data produced by hostile interoperable system. Research in this paper is based on highway toll collection system analysis as representative of hierarchical heterogeneous systems where integration becomes more important than development due to the short time in disposal between the contract signature and implementation. Unwanted interoperability detect mechanism is presented using information collected from different information system levels.

A Multisource Inverter (MSI) comprises several DC sources in the input that can be combined together with varying voltage levels to operate at different loads to reduce the battery size of electric vehicles. Different multisource inverter configurations have been presented recently in the literature. These structures use two DC sources to operate at different demand loads by using a low battery size. The weakness of these multisource inverters is that they use a high number of power switches. In addition, these structures cannot connect two DC used sources together in series to operate under a heavy load, which increases the battery's size, increases high power losses, and reduces efficiency due to a high number of switches. This paper proposes a new topology for multisource inverters that reduces the power electronics switches and the battery size due to generating four combinations between the two used DC sources in the proposed technique. The proposed multisource topology is controlled by the model predictive due to its popular advantages. The performance of the proposal is verified through simulation results in Matlab. The results show that the MPC is a good alternative for such applications due to its simplicity, high performance, and low harmonic content. © 2022 IEEE.

Herein,a two-node beam element enriched based on the Lagrange and Hermite interpolation function is proposed to solve the governing equation of a functionally graded porous(FGP)curved nanobeam on an elastic foundation in a hygro–thermo–magnetic *** material properties of curved nanobeams change continuously along the thickness via a power-law distribution,and the porosity distributions are described by an uneven porosity *** effects of magnetic fields,temperature,and moisture on the curved nanobeam are assumed to result in axial loads and not affect the mechanical properties of the *** equilibrium equations of the curved nanobeam are derived using Hamilton’s principle based on various beam theories,including the classical theory,first-order shear deformation theory,and higher-order shear deformation theory,and the nonlocal elasticity *** accuracy of the proposed method is verified by comparing the results obtained with those of previous reliable ***,the effects of different parameters on the free vibration behavior of the FGP curved nanobeams are investigated comprehensively.

The paper presents the application of the Cole-Cole model for determining the runs of the return voltage of the paper-oil insulation sample through a computer simulation. Different insulation conditions were simulated through an adequate selection of parameters alpha and tau of the Cole-Cole model. For calculation purposes, a series-parallel substitute scheme, obtained through approximation of a discrete characteristic operator impedance Z a of the model applied, was used. The diagnostics of the simulated insulation condition was based on the analysis of a few selected parameters of the return voltage, obtained from time characteristics.

Most of the links in future wireless communication networks will be established over relatively short distances. This new direction in wireless communication is adopted and being developed by embedded multimedia applications leaders. Moreover, these short range communications are introduced into critical applications, where the dependability/reliability is mandatory. Thus, dependability concerns around reliability evaluation becomes an essential question to answer, and poses several challenges. Obviously, it's particularly difficult to investigate the reliability of such mixed HW/SW IPs based systems. Therefore, dependability has to be investigated at different abstractions levels, and for all components integrated into the system being designed. In this paper, we discuss the investigation of dependability in wireless short range systems. Firstly we show how a HW platform based dependability investigation can be a very interactive approach; secondly, we describe a real experience in building a wireless hardware platform for short range systems dependability analysis, and finally, based on this wireless network platform, we propose a dependability flow that takes care of the heterogeneous parts of the wireless embedded systems.

Machine learning becomes one of the top fields in world of ICT (Information and communications technology). In the last few decades machine learning has taken a big boost in sports. Sport fans are using machine learning in sport betting and sport managers are using it for player selection, performance evaluation and even in outcome prediction. This paper gives basketball outcome prediction algorithms using k-nearest neighbours (k-nn). Few methods of preparing data calculated with different k and time period for k-nn algorithm will be presented and closely explained. The eXtended isogeometric analysis (X-IGA) combined with Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used for crack identification in twodimensional linear elastic problems based on inverse problem. The application of fracture mechanics test under mode II loading is performed. The X-IGA possesses the advantages of the combination between eXtended Finite Element Method (X-FEM) and the Isogeometric Analysis (IGA). The objective function minimizes the gap between the calculated and measured displacements. Convergence studies at various positions of crack on the plate are calculated and the results shows that the proposed technique can detect damage with minimum accuracy 95% for the position and maximum accuracy 98%. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2019.

Classical tasks of a librarian, such as screening and categorizing new documents based on their content, are increasingly replaced by search engines or through the use of cataloging software. A first overview of a corpus topical orientation can be achieved by combining graph-based search engines and clustering methods. Existing classical clustering methods, however, often require an a priori specification of the desired number of clusters to be output and do not consider term relationships in graphs, which is deficient from a practical point of view. Therefore, fully unsupervised graph-based clustering approaches at the term level offer new possibilities that mitigate these shortcomings. Within this work, a set of novel graph-based clustering algorithms have been developed. The hierarchical clustering algorithm (HCA) forms term hierarchies by iteratively isolating nodes of a given co-occurrence graph based on the evaluation of the edge weight between the nodes. Based on the co-occurrence graph inherent relationships of terms, a new graph is built agglomerative forming individual term clusters of related terms. The feasibility of the outlined methods for text analysis is shown.
