This paper suggests an online, rapid, dynamic, and pragmatic cross-correlation (CC) technique to eﬀectively realize maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of the photovoltaic (PV) array. The PV voltage and current are extracted, averaged, and rate of change of the power and terminal voltage dynamics are integrally cross-correlated to regulate the duty ratio of the converter. According to this approach, the maximum power point (MPP) is defned in terms of the polarity of the CC coefcient (rcc). If the CC coefcient is positive, the operating point is at left of the MPP, while a negative CC coefcient indicates that the operating point is located at right of the MPP, otherwise the MPP is attained zero CC coefcient with lower steady-state ﬂuctuations. In this regard, a tracking optimization can be realized with confned drift either under gradual or step solar irradiance changes. The proposed CC technique quickly converges to the MPP without identifcation of PV array parameters. Besides, the proposed CC tracking algorithm tracks MPP with wide-range small step-size iterations since the search area is restricted to the vicinity of the MPP rather than the entire PV curve. Moreover, the proposed technique is featured by robustness against system parameters and load variations with simple hardware implementation as compared to several existing techniques. The eﬀectiveness of the proposed technique is thoroughly explored via time-domain, experimental, and hardware-in-loop investigations and meanwhile compared to the two most popular techniques: P&O INC methods, for both gradual and step irradiance changes and also shadow eﬀects. © 2022, The Authors. Fast reroute (FRR) mechanisms that can instantly handle network failures in the data plane are gaining attention in packet-switched networks. In FRR no notification messages are required as the nodes adjacent to the failure are prepared with a routing table such that the packets are re-routed only based on local information. However, designing the routing algorithm for FRR is challenging because the number of possible sets of failed network links and nodes can be extremely high, while the algorithm should keep track of which nodes are aware of the failure. In this paper, we propose a generic algorithmic framework that combines the benefits of Integer Linear Programming (ILP) and an effective approach from graph theory related to constructive graph characterization of k-connected graphs, i.e., edge splitting-off. We illustrate these benefits through arborescence design for FRR and show that (i) due to the ILP we have great flexibility in defining the routing problem, while (ii) the problem can still be solved very fast. We demonstrate through simulations that our framework outperforms state-of-the-art FRR mechanisms and provides better resilience with shorter paths in the arborescences.

The paper describes few faults that can be present in Photovoltaic modules and presents results related to training and the testing of a mobile application designed for identifying faults in photovoltaic modules based on thermal images. The mobile application was trained and then tested with different individual and multiple faults. The mobile application can identify with high accuracy both the individual and multiple faults if the thermal images are preprocessed before to be uploaded for analysis.

In this work, we provide an experimental vali-dation of the recent concepts of closed-loop state and input sensitivity in the context of robust flight control for a quadrotor (UAV) equipped with the popular PX4 1 1 https://***/ controller. Our objective is to experimentally assess how the optimization of the reference trajectory w.r.t. these sensitivity metrics can improve the closed-loop system performance against model uncertainties commonly affecting the quadrotor systems. To accomplish this, we present a series of experiments designed to validate our optimization approach on two distinct trajectories, with the primary aim of assessing its precision in guiding the quadrotor through the center of a window at relatively high speeds. This approach provides some interesting insights for increasing the closed-loop robustness of the robot state and inputs against physical parametric uncertainties that may degrade the system's performance.

Secrecy Outage Probability Analysis for Downlink RIS-NOMA Networks with On-Off control

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) has been regarded as a promising technology since it has ability to create the favorable channel conditions. This paper investigates the secure communications of RIS assisted non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) networks, where both external and internal eavesdropping scenarios are taken into consideration. More specifically, novel approximate and asymptotic expressions of secrecy outage probability (SOP) for the k-th legitimate user (LU) are derived by invoking imperfect successive interference cancellation (ipSIC) and perfect successive interference cancellation (pSIC). To characterize the secrecy performance of RIS-NOMA networks, the diversity order of the k-th LU with ipSIC/pSIC is obtained in the high signal-to-noise ratio region. The secrecy system throughput of RIS-NOMA networks is discussed in delay-limited transmission mode. Numerical results are presented to verify theoretical analysis that: i) The SOP of RIS-NOMA networks is superior to that of RIS assisted orthogonal multiple access (OMA) and conventional cooperative communication schemes;ii) As the number of reflecting elements increases, the RIS-NOMA networks are capable of achieving the enhanced secrecy performance;and iii) The RIS-NOMA networks have better secrecy system throughput than that of RIS-OMA networks and conventional cooperative communication schemes. Detecting anomalies in satellite telemetry data is pivotal in ensuring its safe operations. Although there exist various data-driven techniques for the task of determining abnormal parts of the signal, they are virtually never validated over real telemetries. Analyzing such data is challenging due to its intrinsic characteristics, as telemetry may be noisy and affected by incorrect acquisition, resulting in missing parts of the signal. In this paper, we tackle this issue and propose a machine learning approach for detecting anomalies in single-channel satellite telemetry. To validate its capabilities in a practical scenario, we build a dataset capturing the nominal and anomalous telemetry data captured on board OPS-SAT—a nanosatellite launched and operated by the European Space Agency. Our extensive experimental study showed that the proposed algorithm offers high-quality anomaly detection in real-life satellite telemetry, reaching 98.4% accuracy over the unseen test set. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Accurately identifying key quality features can significantly streamline the manufacturing process by reducing the number of controlled variables and enhancing product quality prediction. To maximize prediction accuracy while minimizing the number of features, this study proposes a Machine-learning and Discrete Multi-verse-optimizer-based Hybrid method called MDMH. MDMH combines machine learning and the discrete Multi-verse optimizer, utilizing hierarchical clustering for effective feature grouping and employing a wrapper technique to find the optimal solution. After comparing its results with those of the exact solver and other intelligent optimization methods, the proposed method demonstrates superiority in terms of accuracy.

This paper investigates the performance of simultaneously transmitting and reflecting surface (STARS) assisted semi-grant-free non-orthogonal multiple access network with randomly distributed users. By deploying STARS, the transmit signals of grant-based user (GBU) and grant-free users (GFUs) can be exquisitely adjusted to reduce interference. We propose a maximum channel scheduling (MCS) protocol that allows a GFU to access GBU’s channel with the assistance of STARS. In particular, the impacts of perfect/imperfect successive interference cancellation (pSIC/ipSIC) on MCS protocol are taken into account. To characterize the performance of STARS aided MCS (STARS-MCS) network, we derive the expressions of outage probability for GBU and GFU with pSIC/ipSIC. By applying convolution theorem and Laplace transform, the asymptotic expressions of outage probability and diversity orders for GBU and GFU are attained. We further design a STARS-based power control (SPC) strategy to eliminate the outage probability error floor and improve the outage performance. Numerical results show that: 1) The performance of STARS-MCS outperforms the existing benchmarks in terms of outage probability and system throughput;2) The SPC strategy can effectively improve the performance of the STARS-MCS network and eliminate the outage probability error floor at high signal-to-noise ratios;and 3) By adjusting reflection and transmission coefficients of STARS, the outage performance of GBU and GFU can be greatly enhanced. © 2025 IEEE. Through the observation and analysis of the motion trajectory of spiral winding motion for slender legless biological creatures in water,V-REP software is adopted to build a dynamic simulator to study on the mechanism of spiral winding swimming(SWS)*** using the output of spiral function(SF),the dynamic simulation model of slender legless creature(SLC)realizes the SWS motion in *** corresponding experiments under the control of different bending angle of SF to control the dynamic model are also carried out to analyze the water performance of SWS in still *** with the output of two different bending angles of the spiral function,the dynamic model can be used to realize SWS and up/down *** work provides technical reserve and experimental platform for the corresponding study in related fields.

Defining, measuring, and modeling passenger's in-vehicle experience and acceptance of automated vehicles

Automated vehicle acceptance (AVA) has been measured mostly subjectively by questionnaires and interviews, with a main focus on drivers inside automated vehicles (AVs). To ensure that AVs are widely accepted by the public, ensuring the acceptance by both drivers and passengers is key. The in-vehicle experience of passengers will determine the extent to which AVs will be accepted by passengers. A comprehensive understanding of potential assessment methods to measure the passenger experience in AVs is needed to improve the in-vehicle experience of passengers and thereby the acceptance. The present work provides an overview of assessment methods that were used to measure a driver's behavior, and cognitive and emotional states during (automated) driving. The results of the review have shown that these assessment methods can be classified by type of data-collection method (e.g., questionnaires, interviews, direct input devices, sensors), object of their measurement (i.e., perception, behavior, state), time of measurement, and degree of objectivity of the data collected. A conceptual model synthesizes the results of the literature review, formulating relationships between the factors constituting the in-vehicle experience and AVA acceptance. It is theorized that the in-vehicle experience influences the intention to use, with intention to use serving as predictor of actual use. The model also formulates relationships between actual use and well-being. A combined approach of using both subjective and objective assessment methods is needed to provide more accurate estimates for AVA, and advance the uptake and use of AVs. © 2023, CC BY.
