We have developed a method of representing robotic soccer game. This representation is used for controlling robots playing soccer. Our approach to robot soccer is to view it as a local interaction game, which reduces the need for centralized control. In this paper we describe both hardware and software implementation that is used by robots. Virtual grid is described. The virtual grid is much more efficient than representation of game using natural coordinates of robots. This representation can be efficiently used for a description of game strategies, which can be directly used for a faster control of robots. We also show how a can be learned and illustrate our approach using the latent semantic analysis. Strategy learning is important both for developing successful players and also for discovering strategies of the opponent team.

The subsystem of a visual functional test is an embedded system, which is an integral part of testing equipment for functional testing of electronic modules of dashboards of vehicles after their installation. The flexible solution of structure of measuring an information subsystem chain with a CCD camera and its interconnection with a controlling PC of testing equipment enables measurement and also analysis, in a long term time horizon, the functional characteristics of electro-optical parts installed generally in electronic modules produced. The solution is proposed with respect to reliability, the flexibility of re-installation also for other type of the electronic module measured, removal of the human factor from the process of visual functional tests and harmonization of the testing period with the period of production line.

In this paper a novel approach to the impulsive noise removal in color images is presented. The proposed technique employs the switching scheme based on the impulse detection mechanism using the so called peer group concept. Compared to the vector median filter, the proposed technique consistently yields better results in suppressing both the random-valued and fixed-valued impulsive noise. The main advantage of the proposed noise detection framework is its enormous computational speed, which enables efficient filtering of large images in real-time applications.

Repetitive processes are a distinct class of 2D systems (*** propagation in two independent directions) of both systems theoretic and applications interest. They cannot be controlled by direct extension of existing techniques from either standard (termed 1D here) or 2D systems theory. Here we give new results on the design of physically based control laws and, in particular, the first results on a mixed H 2 /H ∞ approach and on H 2 control in the presence of uncertainty in the process model.

Repetitive processes are a distinct class of 2D systems (i.e. information propagation in two independent directions) of both systems theoretic and applications interest. They cannot be controlled by direct extension of existing techniques from either standard (termed 1D here) or 2D systems theory. Here we give the first results on how feedback/feedforward control action can be used to influence one form of controllability for processes with discrete dynamics.
