This work solves a problem of the inverted pendulum system regulation using a fuzzy regulator. As this regulator has been used the programmable logic controller (PLC) Tecomat TC600, type 607. The PLC is connected to the personal computer (PC) by the use of a voltage converter and an industrial PC card PCI 1751. The PC works as a simulation device of the inverted pendulum system, where the simulation is performed by a program created in the Delphi programming language version 5. The fuzzy model used in the fuzzy regulator is designed directly for the inverted pendulum system. The whole application has been successfully tested and also very good results have been reached.

The aim of this work was to design and realize a compact module of data acquisition. This module was designed for the applications of meteorological measurements of barometric pressure, temperature and relative air humidity. The main parts of this module are above all 8-bit microcontroller with digital and analog ports, external EEPROM memory for storage of the measured data, LCD display for their actual visualization and RS232 interface for communication and transfer of data to PC. This paper describes present state of our project, whose result should be the system measuring ventilation fans relevant quantities in industrial enviroment, and this data will be processed and evaluted to detect incomming problems and control maintenance of monitored device. We are designing control unit based on microcontroller Motorola HC08 family, which will be able to measure and make simple data processing. Further this data will be transferred into the main computer by using industrial bus to make evaluation and visualization.

In this paper we proposed a fuzzy neural network model which can embody a fuzzy Takagi-Sugeno model and carry out fuzzy inference and support structure of fuzzy rules. The algorithm of model properties improvement consists of new origin procedures namely input space partition, fuzzy terms number and rule number extending, low-effective fuzzy terms and rules extraction and consequent structure identification. In the proposed fuzzy modeling method we first design a rough initial fuzzy model with complete partition of input variable space (or initial partition based on expert knowledge). Then a fuzzy neural network is constructed based on rough fuzzy model. By learning of the neural network we can tune of embedded initial fuzzy model. Next, the additional identifying procedure is introduced based on additional partition of fuzzy input space to improve the properties of initial fuzzy model and to decrease the model error. In final part of identification some low-effective terms and rules are extracted and final rule based model is formed. To apply the new identifying procedures and to introduce possibilities of variability of their properties some parameters have to be put in. The strategy of such parameter optimization is provided by new advanced genetic algorithm. Criterion and cost function has been selected as global fuzzy-neuro model error. To show the applicability of new method and to make a possibility to real systems modeling, we designed the fuzzy-neural network programme tool FUZNET. There were two case studies performed: the first case study presents the prediction of Mackey-Glass time series with using fuzzy-neural regression model (FNRM) predictor; the second case study presents task of a coke-oven gas cooler modeling.

Development in a computer area enables creation of an automatic diagnostic and a maintenance system. These new diagnostic systems should be more robust, adaptable, reliable, and compute in a real time. A modern diagnostic system could be composed from an embedded system and a personal computer. The embedded system enables ensuring of all very positive and improves feature for the diagnostic and maintenance system design. The embedded system is controlled by a digital signal processor DSP. The personal computer enables well arranged a visualization of all measured and computed data, which are useful for the diagnostic and maintenance of technical devices. The diagnostic system design is very complicated and difficult for necessity to know about problematic of a technology, methods of measuring magnitude, a data analyze, a data computation, the embedded systems and a data communication. Our development of the diagnostic and maintenance system is in-process, and research target is composing modern improved diagnostic and maintenance system controlled by the embedded systems.

Recent advances in the power electronics have made the use of the voltage source inverter (VSI) feasible at both transmission and distribution levels. This paper demonstrates a new optimal control scheme for the Unified Power Flow controller (UPFC) to control power flow as well to improve the system stability and to eliminate current harmonics and voltage flickers in the system. In this paper optimal control with two tracking strategies have been tested: tracking according to steady state behavior and tracking with PI controller. The shunt converter only and the series converter only have been demonstrated too.
