Reversible Watermarking Method with Low Distortion for the Secure Transmission of Medical Images

In telemedicine,the realization of reversible watermarking through information security is an emerging research ***,adding watermarks hinders the distribution of pixels in the cover image because it creates distortions(which lead to an increase in the detection probability).In this article,we introduce a reversible watermarking method that can transmit medical images with minimal distortion and high *** proposed method selects two adjacent gray pixels whose least significant bit(LSB)is different from the relevant message bit and then calculates the distortion *** use the LSB pairing method to embed the secret matrix of patient record into the cover image and exchange pixel *** results show that the designed method is robust to different attacks and has a high PSNR(peak signal-to-noise ratio)*** MRI image quality and imperceptibility are verified by embedding a secret matrix of up to 262,688 bits to achieve an average PSNR of 51.657 *** addition,the proposed algorithm is tested against the latest technology on standard images,and it is found that the average PSNR of our proposed reversible watermarking technology is higher(i.e.,51.71 dB).Numerical results show that the algorithm can be extended to normal images and medical images.

The work addresses PID control design based on the velocity-pausing particle swarm optimization (VPPSO) technique. The suggested control design is utilized to develop a load frequency control (LFC) approach for an isolated microgrid (MG) with heat-pumps (HPs) and electric-vehicles (EVs). The efficiency and effectiveness of suggested control design are assessed when there are randomized solar power and load-demand disturbances. Furthermore, the robustness and effectiveness of suggested control schemes are evaluated under uncertainty in system parameters and different EVs & HPs controller's operating time-scheduling situations. The simulation results demonstrated the efficiency and usefulness of the recommended VPPSO-PID control strategy under several practical situations. © 2023 IEEE.

Output Tracking control of a Nonlinear System Based on Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Model: Generalized Partial Eigenstructure Assignment Approach

This paper introduces an innovative optimal control approach to achieve output tracking while incorporating H2-performance specifications in a specific class of nonlinear dynamics modeled by the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model (TSFM). The primary innovation lies in extending partial eigenstructure assignment to TSFM-based nonlinear systems within the framework of sliding mode control (SMC). We propose a two-step methodology for designing optimal sliding surface gains. Initially, optimal state feedback gains are computed for each rule consequence containing a linear subsystem, adhering to predetermined eigenvalues and satisfying H2-performance criteria. Subsequently, using a convex combination, the overall state feedback gain is calculated and utilized to design sliding matrix gains. The sliding matrix gains are then determined by strategically combining previously calculated state-feedback gains in a convex optimization problem. We reframe the output tracking strategy as a stabilization problem using a virtual control input and reformulate the optimization task concerning tracking state errors. This process yields state feedback gains, sliding gains, and the formulation of the virtual control input. The effectiveness of our approach is verified through comprehensive simulations, emphasizing its capability in addressing output tracking challenges within nonlinear systems. © 2013 IEEE.

This paper presents a novel approach for the online calculation of Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) gains using the Tabular Dyna-Q algorithm. By leveraging Q-learning, this technique enables the determination of gains for unknown dynamic systems by using input-output data only. The proposed algorithm is particularly advantageous for situations where acquiring input-output data is expensive or time-consuming, as it effectively reduces computation time by reusing previous data. To validate the accuracy of the calculations and control scheme, a simulation example is provided. The results indicate the effectiveness of the Tabular Dyna-Q algorithm in accurately computing LQR gains and its potential application in real-world scenarios. This research contributes to advancing the field of control theory by offering an efficient and reliable method for online gain calculation in dynamic systems. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper discusses the reduction of background noise in an industrial environment to extend *** the Industry 4.0 era,the mass development of voice control(speech recognition)in various industrial applications is possible,especially as related to augmented reality(such as hands-free control via voice commands).As Industry 4.0 relies heavily on radiofrequency technologies,some brief insight into this problem is provided,including the Internet of things(IoT)and 5G *** study was carried out in cooperation with the industrial partner Brose CZ spol.s.r.o.,where sound recordings were made to produce a *** experimental environment comprised three workplaces with background noise above 100 dB,consisting of a laser/magnetic welder and a press.A virtual device was developed from a given dataset in order to test selected commands from a commercial speech recognizer from *** tested a hybrid algorithm for noise reduction and its impact on voice command recognition *** virtual devices,the study was carried out on large speakers with 20 participants(10 men and 10 women).The experiments included a large number of repetitions(100 times for each command under different noise conditions).Statistical results confirmed the efficiency of the tested *** welding environment efficiency was 27%before applied filtering,76%using the least mean square(LMS)algorithm,and 79%using LMS+independent component analysis(ICA).Magnetic welding environment efficiency was 24%before applied filtering,70%with LMS,and 75%with LMS+*** workplace environment efficiency showed no success before applied filtering,was 52%with LMS,and was 54%with LMS+ICA.

Diagnosing various diseases such as glaucoma,age-related macular degeneration,cardiovascular conditions,and diabetic retinopathy involves segmenting retinal blood *** task is particularly challenging when dealing with color fundus images due to issues like non-uniformillumination,low contrast,and variations in vessel appearance,especially in the presence of different ***,the speed of the retinal vessel segmentation system is of utmost *** the surge of now available big data,the speed of the algorithm becomes increasingly important,carrying almost equivalent weightage to the accuracy of the *** address these challenges,we present a novel approach for retinal vessel segmentation,leveraging efficient and robust techniques based on multiscale line detection and mathematical *** algorithm’s performance is evaluated on two publicly available datasets,namely the Digital Retinal Images for Vessel Extraction dataset(DRIVE)and the Structure Analysis of Retina(STARE)*** experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our method,withmean accuracy values of 0.9467 forDRIVE and 0.9535 for STARE datasets,aswell as sensitivity values of 0.6952 forDRIVE and 0.6809 for STARE ***,our algorithmexhibits competitive performance with state-of-the-art ***,it operates at an average speed of 3.73 s per image for DRIVE and 3.75 s for STARE *** is worth noting that these results were achieved using Matlab scripts containing multiple *** suggests that the processing time can be further reduced by replacing loops with *** the proposed algorithm can be deployed in real time *** summary,our proposed system strikes a fine balance between swift computation and accuracy that is on par with the best available methods in the field.

The main focus of this research is on improving the performance of dynamic systems with actuator non-linearities and time-varying disturbances. To this end, using the concept of finite-time stability, a novel observer is presented to estimate the disturbances in systems with input non-linearities. Then, introducing an innovative sliding manifold, a robust observer-based technique is derived to guarantee the finite-time stability of the sliding surface. Hence, the closed-loop system would be stable in the presence of hard non-linearities and time-varying disturbances. The performance of the proposed approach was assessed in using a simulation study of two numerical examples. The obtained results and comparison with a conventional method confirmed the benefits of the suggested approach. © 2022 The Authors. Current trends of digitalization and automation in the automotive industry have increased the complexity of computer clusters in different domains of vehicular ecosystems, which are required to support new features. This has led to redundancy in resource usage in specific use cases, resulting in increased production costs and manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) markups for the finalized products. The average retail price of a new vehicle in the United States increased by 13.4% between 2015 and 2020. Considering the global chip shortage of 2020 and current global inflation, the average price of a new vehicle in the United States reached 49,500 in 2023 [1]. With the electrification of current automotive platforms underway, as well as the move to centralized system architectures, new approaches to inter-domain communication are expected. This paper proposes a solution of a distributed AUTOSAR Adaptive system that can establish communication with the In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) domain. The proof of concept implemented in a controlled environment proves viable for inter-domain communication, as it provides good scalability and adaptability to different scenarios. The use of a distributed approach facilitates the applicability of distributed system principles, allowing for the implementation of a stable system. © 2023 IEEE.
