Synthesis Design of Low-Loss and Self-Packaged Bandpass Filter on λ/4 SISL Resonators Using the Short-Open-Load (SOL) Technique

In this article, an efficient and accurate synthesis design method for bandpass filters (BPFs) based on low-loss quarter-wavelength (λ/4) substrate integrated suspended line (SISL) resonators is proposed, using the short-open-load (SOL) calibration technique. The BPF topology is comprised of SISL with two volumes of vias on both side walls and alternating SISL-based J/K inverters. First, with the help of full-wave simulation, the propagation characteristics of the SISL with periodically loaded pins are analyzed and extracted by SOL. Afterward, to facilitate the filter synthesis design, the equivalent circuit parameters of each J/K inverter with symmetrical/asymmetrical feed lines are accurately extracted. Herein, the extra transition for circuit measurement can be directly merged into the input port of the J01 inverter, and then be regarded as an error box to be calibrated out by SOL. Therefore, the efficient co-design of the resultant SISL BPF containing the feed transition can be achieved. Finally, two 4th-order all-pole Chebyshev SISL BPFs with λ/4 resonators are designed and fabricated. The synthesized, simulated, and measured results of all the implemented SISL BPFs are found in good agreement, evidently demonstrating the effectiveness of the SOL technique for designing the SISL circuits. In addition, the SISL BPFs have the advantages of low loss and self-packaging against traditional planar BPFs. © 2025 IEEE.

The sparse adversarial attack has attracted increasing attention due to the merit of a low attack cost via changing a small number of pixels. However, the generated adversarial examples are easily detected in vision since the perturbation to each pixel is relatively large. To achieve imperceptible and sparse adversarial attacks, this article formulates a bi-objective constrained optimization problem, simultaneously minimizing the 0 and 2 distances to the original image, and proposes a dual-population-based constrained evolutionary algorithm to solve it. The proposed method solves the optimization problem by evolving two populations, where one population is responsible for finding feasible solutions (i.e., successful attacks) and the other one is to minimize both the 0 and 2 distances. Moreover, a population initialization strategy and two genetic operators are customized to accelerate the convergence speed. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method can achieve high success rates with low attack costs, and strikes a better balance between the 0 and 2 distances than state-of-the-art methods. © 2020 IEEE.

Orthogonal matrices have become a vital means for coding and signal processing owing to their unique distributional *** orthogonal matrices based on amplitude or phase combinations have been extensively explored,the orthogonal matrix of polarization combinations(OMPC)is a novel,relatively unexplored ***,we propose a method for constructing OMPCs of any dimension encompassing 4n(where n is 1,2,4,8,…)mutually orthogonal 2ncomponent polarization *** the field of holography,the integration of polarization multiplexing techniques with polarization-sensitive materials is expected to emerge as a groundbreaking approach for multichannel hologram multiplexing,offering considerable enhancements in data storage capacity and security.A multidimensional OMPC enables the realization of multichannel multiplexing and dynamical modulation of information in polarization holographic *** consolidating all information into a single position within the material,we effectively avoided extraneous crosstalk during the reconstruction *** results show that achieving four distinct holographic images individually and simultaneously depends on the polarization combination represented by the incident *** discovery opens up a new avenue for achieving highly holographic information storage and dynamically displayed information,harnessing the potential of OMPC to expand the heretofore limited dimensionality of orthogonal polarization.

Nowadays the humanity needs to produce food in greater quantity and quality, in order to satisfy citizens and markets, supported by advanced technologies such as cyber-physical system (CPS) or intelligent systems where software and electronic devices and receivers of physical variables are mechanisms that control the management of multiple actions inherent to plant growth. Electronic devices and receivers of physical variables are mechanisms that involve a network of IoT components and control multiple actions inherent to plant growth in agricultural greenhouses, which in short, are intensive food production systems. In this context, this paper presents a case study that uses a monitoring and management system that considers environmental parameters measured inside a greenhouse, allowing the manager to assess the working status of an aquaponic systems, and detect critical conditions that require quick decisions in real time. It is intended to develop technology that can be used in greenhouses, close to consumer centres or cities, to mitigate the impact of transport, lowering CO2 emissions resulting from the distribution channels between the producers and consumers. © 2022, European Association for the Development of Renewable Energy, Environment and Power Quality (EA4EPQ). The focus of this paper is to address a novel control technique for stability and transparency analysis of bilateral telerobotic systems in the presence of data loss and time delay in the communication channel. Different control strategies have been reported to compensate the effects of time delay in the communication channel;however, most of them result in poor performance under data loss. First, a model for data loss is proposed using a finite series representation of a set of periodic continuous *** improve the performance and data reconstruction, a holder circuits is also introduced. The passivity of the overall system is provided via the wave variable technique based on the proposed model for the data loss. The stability analysis of the system is then derived using the Lyapunov theorem under the time delay and the data loss. Finally, experimental results are given to illustrate the capability of the proposed control technique.

This correspondence investigates the novel fluid antenna system (FAS) technology, combining with reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) for wireless communications, where a base station (BS) communicates with a FAS-enabled user with the assistance of a RIS. To analyze this technology, we derive the outage probability based on the block-diagonal matrix approximation (BDMA) model. With this, we obtain the upper bound, lower bound, and asymptotic approximation of the outage probability to gain more insights. Moreover, we design the phase shift matrix of the RIS in order to minimize the system outage probability. Simulation results confirm the accuracy of our approximations and that the proposed schemes outperform benchmarks significantly. © 2025 IEEE.

Kinodynamic Motion Planning for a Team of Multirotors Transporting a Cable-Suspended Payload in Cluttered Environments

We propose a motion planner for cable-driven payload transportation using multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in an environment cluttered with obstacles. Our planner is kinodynamic, i.e., it considers the full dynamics model of the transporting system including actuation constraints. Due to the high dimensionality of the planning problem, we use a hierarchical approach where we first solve for the geometric motion using a sampling-based method with a novel sampler, followed by constrained trajectory optimization that considers the full dynamics of the system. Both planning stages consider inter-robot and robot/obstacle collisions. We demonstrate in a software-in-the-loop simulation and real flight experiments that there is a significant benefit in kinodynamic motion planning for such payload transport systems with respect to payload tracking error and energy consumption compared to the standard methods of planning for the payload alone. Notably, we observe a significantly higher success rate in scenarios where the team formation changes are needed to move through tight spaces. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper firstly discusses the current research status and problems of the energy supply system for island scenes. In response to these problems, this paper proposes an integrated layout scheme for the construction of a multi-energy reef power plant based on paddle-less wind turbines, floating solar panels, and oscillating float-type wave energy capture devices, taking into account the island's natural conditions and geographic advantages, based on a full assessment of the wind/light/wave energy resource conditions of the island and its neighboring reef area scenarios. With the constraint of equal annual value investment cost, a reasonable layout optimization principle is established based on the actual conditions, and a typical day is selected using the scenario reduction idea to establish a layout optimization and capacity exploration model with the objective function of maximizing the annual total power generation. The CPLEX mixed integer planning algorithm is used to solve the modeling examples, and the results are compared with those of the exhaustive method with different accuracies. The results show that the proposed construction layout scheme is reasonable and feasible, and has unique advantages in the island scenario, with a large potential for power generation. © 2024, The Authors. Due to the rapid development of power electronics and new energy generation, conventional transformers cannot meet the higher requirements of intelligent grids due to a lack of controllability. While solid-state transformers (SSTs) are currently costly, making it impossible for them to be used widely in power networks. For this reason, a compromise solution of a hybrid transformer (HT) combining the traditional line frequency transformer (LFT) with power electronic devices has attracted more and more attention. Based on existing HT research, topologies of HT are classified according to installation position and connection type of power electronic devices. Rough theoretical analyses were carried out from the point of view of voltage compensation, current compensation, and power flow control. A review of HT topology in recent years is also included.

Msqat: A Multi-Dimension Non-Intrusive Speech Quality Assessment Transformer Utilizing Self-Supervised Representations

Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been widely utilized as the main building block for many \textit{non-intrusive} speech quality assessment (NISQA) methods. A new trend is to add a self-attention mechanism based on CNN to better capture long-term global content. However, it is not clear whether the pure attention-based network is sufficient to obtain good performance in NISQA. To this end, a framework named \textbf{M}ulti-dimension \textit{non-intrusive} \textbf{S}peech \textbf{Q}uality \textbf{A}ssessment \textbf{T}ransformer (MSQAT) is proposed. To strengthen the interactions of various speech regions between local and global, three multi-dimensional modules are devised. Additionally, speech quality varies not only in different frames, but also in different frequencies. Thus, a two-branch structure is designed to better evaluate the quality of speech. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed MSQAT has state-of-the-art performance on three standard datasets (NISQA Corpus, Tencent Corpus, and PSTN Corpus). © 2023, The Authors.
