The deterioration of transmission lines has a profound effect on the reliability and safety of the power grid. Accurate estimation of their age is critical for effective maintenance and investment planning. This paper proposes a method that combines the percentage statistical health index (%SHI) with failure probability curve-fitting (FPCF) to estimate the ages of overhead transmission lines. %SHI assesses equipment condition through scoring and weighting, while FPCF correlates SHI with the probability of failure. Evaluation of 924 towers situated in various terrains across Thailand reveals discrepancies between estimated and actual ages, influenced by environmental factors. To enhance reliability, proactive maintenance strategies such as regular inspections and advanced monitoring are recommended.

Mapping to $k$ -input lookup tables ( $k$ -LUTs) is a critical process in field-programmable gate array (FPGA) synthesis. However, the structure of the subject graph can introduce structural bias, which refers to the dependency of mapping results on the inherent graph structure, often leading to suboptimal results. To address this, we present ELMap, an area-driven LUT mapping framework. It incorporates structural choice during the collapsing phase. This enables dynamic decomposition, maximizing local-to-global optimization transfer. To ensure seamless integration between the optimization and mapping processes, ELMap leverages exact $k$ -LUT synthesis to generate area-optimal sub-LUT networks. Experiments on the EPFL benchmark suite demonstrate that ELMap significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods. Specifically, in 6-LUT mapping, ELMap reduces the average LUT area by 8.5% and improves the area-depth-product (ADP) by 5.8%. In 4-LUT remapping, it reduces the average LUT area by 17.6% and improves the ADP by 2.4%.

Starting from the period of the Covid-19 pandemic, when the presence of students in the university laboratories was very limited, the research work on remote laboratories significantly increased. The most affected aspect of students’ study experience at that time were the laboratory experiments intended to be conducted on-premises, in the university laboratories. The UbiLAB framework was envisioned as a digital space for implementing and conducting laboratory work and experiments that are rarely completely transferred into the digital world. Here we have identified two most difficult challenges: achieving a nearly realistic substitute for learning experiences in the actual physical laboratories, and a nearly realistic substitute for the social element of collaborative learning and “making friends” in the process. The innovative cloud-based UbiLAB framework addresses both challenges, digitizing various and diverse actual laboratory experiments through a simple and widely available platform, while enhancing the reality of students’ experience in the process.

This paper discusses the advantages of orchestrating distribution energy resources (DERs) within the distribution network and integrating third generation (Gen3) blockchain technology among a diverse range of customers. The implementation of peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading aims to optimize local energy utilization, reduce energy costs for participants, and provide insights into profit margins for aggregators and the distribution system operator (DSO). The study focuses on three types of DERs, namely electric vehicles (EVs), photovoltaic (PV) systems, and battery energy storage systems (BESSs), to facilitate transparent and secure P2P energy trading. The results underscore the importance of Gen3 blockchain technology in expediting and enhancing energy trading processes, thereby benefiting a wide range of participants.
