A novel drive system using Magnetic Multiple Spur Gear (MMSG) and multiple high-speed motors is characterized by small size, lightweight, and high efficiency even at high-speed region, it is expected to apply to in-wheel motor systems. However, there is a risk of contact between the rotors when applied to in-wheel motor system. In this study, a novel axial-gap MMSG is proposed to solve this problem, stabilize the air gap between the high-speed and low-speed rotors, and effectively utilize the magnets, and its performance is evaluated by finite element analysis. © 2023 IEEE.

Distributed Denial of services (DDoS) attack is one of the most dangerous attacks that targeted servers. The main consequence of this attack is to prevent users from getting their legitimate services by bringing down targeted victim. CICFlowMeter tool generates bi-directional flows from packets. Each flow generates 83 of different features. The research focuses on 8 features which are active min (f1), active mean (f2), active max (f3), active std (f4), idle min (f5), idle mean (f6), idle max (f7), and idle std (f8). CICFlowMeter tool has several problems that affected on the detection accuracy of DDoS attacks. The idle and active based feature of Shannon entropy and sequential probability ratio test (SE-SPRT) approach was implemented in this research. The problems of original CICFlowMeter were presented, and the differences between original and revised version of CICFlowMeter tool were explored. The DARPA database and confusion matrix were used to evaluate the detection technique and present the comparison between two versions of CICFlowMeter. The detection method detected neptune and smurf attacks and had higher accuracy, f1-score, sensitivity, specificity, and precision when revised version of CICFlowMeter used to generate flows. However, the detection method failed to detect neptune attack and had higher miss-rate, lower accuracy, lower f1-score, and lower specificity, and lower precision when original version used in generating flows. © 2022 IEEE.

We consider a multi-armed bandit setting with finitely many arms, in which each arm yields an M-dimensional vector reward upon selection. We assume that the reward of each dimension (a.k.a. objective) is generated independently of the others. The best arm of any given objective is the arm with the largest component of mean corresponding to the objective. The end goal is to identify the best arm of every objective in the shortest (expected) time subject to an upper bound on the probability of error (i.e., fixed-confidence regime). We establish a problem-dependent lower bound on the limiting growth rate of the expected stopping time, in the limit of vanishing error probabilities. This lower bound, we show, is characterised by a max-min optimisation problem that is computationally expensive to solve at each time step. We propose an algorithm that uses the novel idea of surrogate proportions to sample the arms at each time step, eliminating the need to solve the max-min optimisation problem at each step. We demonstrate theoretically that our algorithm is asymptotically optimal. In addition, we provide extensive empirical studies to substantiate the efficiency of our algorithm. While existing works on pure exploration with multi-objective multi-armed bandits predominantly focus on Pareto frontier identification, our work fills the gap in the literature by conducting a formal investigation of the multi-objective best arm identification problem. This paper presents the design and implementation of an energy management system (EMS) for a renewable energy system using Matlab Simulink and Arduino Mega. The proposed renewable energy system is composed of an electrolyzer, a battery, photovoltaic modules, and fuel cells. The developed energy management is implemented on the Arduino board to control the connection of the different components to the load based on the load power consumption, the battery's charge state, and the energy produced by the photovoltaic modules. The energy management system inputs include the information on the amount of energy produced by the photovoltaic modules, the power used by the load, and the battery's charge state. When the produced energy exceeds the energy used by the load and the batteries are fully charged, the system allows the electrolyzer to connect to the photovoltaic modules to produce the hydrogen. Our proposed system is based on low cost technology that intends to extend the life of the batteries and enhance the efficiency of the renewable energy system by the production and using the hydrogen. The obtained experimental results show the effectiveness of the EMS in controlling the connection of the different components. © 2022 IEEE.

In the frame of current research authors has developed a prototype of the Internet of Things. A selection of sensors for monitoring air pollution (CO2, PM1.0, PM2.5 and PM10) was made and on its basis a prototype of the IoT (The Internet of Things) network was developed for limiting the access of vehicles in areas of increased air pollution. Results of the application of air pollutant measurement in real life are presented. Results of the experimental part, which were collected in the parking lots of Riga shopping centers and stores - Alfa, Domina, Sāga and Lidl - are summarized. Data were collected for CO2, PM1.0, PM2.5 and PM10 pollutants. Results compared, their reasons and potential impact on human health. At the end, it is concluded about the possible development of air quality improvement and control using the created prototype. © 2023 Kaunas University of Technology. All rights reserved.

Cosmetics is one of the emerging industries in Indonesia. Cosmetology is the practice of using cosmetics and cosmetic products to alter the appearance of the face. When applying makeup, it is essential to tailor it to the occasion and consider the facial structure. Applying appropriate cosmetics may enhance self-assurance. According to the questionnaire findings, women apply makeup more than twice. However, not all of them possess the talent to apply makeup on themselves. They struggle to locate a makeup artist with a style and availability that meets their requirements. Glowapp was developed with booking functionalities. Customers will find it more convenient to schedule an appointment. Blackbox testing was utilized to assess the functionality of the system. The results indicate that the features performed effectively and satisfied user requirements. The usability test is conducted by integrating the eight golden guidelines and ISO-9241-11. The goal is to reduce the time respondents spend filling questionnaires while maintaining usability principles to ensure more accurate answers. Glowapp has a performance score of 93%, with efficiency scoring the highest and effectiveness scoring the lowest. © 2024 IEEE.

In the Smart Grid(SG)residential environment,consumers change their power consumption routine according to the price and incentives announced by the utility,which causes the prices to deviate from the initial ***,electricity demand and price forecasting play a significant role and can help in terms of reliability and *** to the massive amount of data,big data analytics for forecasting becomes a hot topic in the SG *** this paper,the changing and non-linearity of consumer consumption pattern complex data is taken as *** minimize the computational cost and complexity of the data,the average of the feature engineering approaches includes:Recursive Feature Eliminator(RFE),Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGboost),Random Forest(RF),and are upgraded to extract the most relevant and significant *** this end,we have proposed the DensetNet-121 network and Support Vector Machine(SVM)ensemble with Aquila Optimizer(AO)to ensure adaptability and handle the complexity of data in the ***,the AO method helps to tune the parameters of DensNet(121 layers)and SVM,which achieves less training loss,computational time,minimized overfitting problems and more training/test *** evaluation metrics and statistical analysis validate the proposed model results are better than the benchmark *** proposed method has achieved a minimal value of the Mean Average Percentage Error(MAPE)rate i.e.,8%by DenseNet-AO and 6%by SVM-AO and the maximum accurateness rate of 92%and 95%,respectively.

Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) is widely used in various fields, and obstacle avoidance is a key technology for USV. Accurately detecting the position and type of obstacles is crucial for obstacle avoidance. Active sensors can accurately detect the position of obstacles but cannot distinguish their types, necessitating the use of vision sensors. Therefore, this paper employs stereo vision and proposes a stereo obstacle detection and localization method, based on SGBM and YOLOv5. The SGBM algorithm generates depth information, while the YOLOv5 algorithm detects the position of obstacles in the image. To address the issue of errors in measuring the continuous position of obstacles, this paper uses a Kalman filter to smooth the trajectory. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves obstacle localization accuracy by approximately 38% compared to raw measurements. Besides, considering the energy constraints and computing capabilities of lightweight USV, which cannot meet the demands of processing vision tasks, this paper introduces an edge-device collaboration architecture, by offloading the USV computing tasks to edge nodes, thereby extending the computing capacity and energy efficiency of the USV. Experimental results indicate that the proposed architecture meets the real-Time obstacle avoidance requirements of USV. © 2024 IEEE.

Experimental evaluation of MU-MIMO in TDD environment for 5G NR using exploiting channel reciprocity

5G New Radio (NR) operates in two frequency ranges viz. Frequency Range 1 (sub-6 GHz band) and Frequency Range 2 (millimeter wave communication). It utilizes Time Division Duplex (TDD) communication, allowing the same frequency band for uplink and downlink transmission using sounding reference signals. These signals help estimate channel conditions for scheduling downlink traffic. Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) technology enables simultaneous data transmission to multiple users using multiple antennas. This study examines MU-MIMO performance in TDD by analyzing variables like radio conditions, modulation schemes, code rates, precoding algorithms, and sub-carrier spacing. Simulation results show that Zero Forcing (ZF) precoding outperforms Block Diagonalization (BD) and Regularized Zero Forcing (RZF) in good radio conditions. However, in bad radio conditions, RZF performs better than ZF. Choosing higher code rates in 16 and 64-QAM and lower code rates in 256-QAM from the MCS table improves throughput. This indicates that MCS and user selection are crucial for higher throughput in TDD-based MU-MIMO for 5G NR. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.
