Recently,ground-penetrating radar(GPR)has been extended as a well-known area to investigate the subsurface ***,its output has a low resolution,and it needs more processing for more *** paper presents two algorithms for landmine detection from GPR *** first algorithm depends on a multi-scale technique.A Gaussian kernel with a particular scale is convolved with the image,and after that,two gradients are estimated;horizontal and vertical ***,histogram and cumulative histogram are estimated for the overall gradient *** bin values on the cumulative histogram are used for discrimination between images with and without ***,a neural classifier is used to classify images with cumulative histograms as feature *** second algorithm is based on scale-space analysis with the number of speeded-up robust feature(SURF)points as the key parameter for *** addition,this paper presents a framework for size reduction of GPR images based on decimation for efficient *** further classification steps can be performed on images after *** sensitivity of classification accuracy to the interpolation process is studied in detail.

Renewable hybrid energy systems are crucial for ensuring energy sustainability. This work presents an advanced control and management system for green hydrogen production, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. The system optimizes renewable energy utilization, improves hydrogen production efficiency, and ensures a reliable energy supply to meet varying demands. AI algorithms are used, including Random Forest, Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks to forecast photovoltaic (PV) energy production and load consumption. These models are integrated into a centralized control system that dynamically adjusts energy distribution between immediate consumption and hydrogen production. Using data from the Rye microgrid, the system's effectiveness is demonstrated in enhancing decision-making for energy management in small-scale islanded operations. © 2024 IEEE.

A multiband tri-branch monopole antenna is presented. The antenna structure is constructed of radiating patches with three branches. It is fed by a microstrip transmission line. Essentially, the antenna is a simple structure created by a step impedance technique. In addition, the antenna can be separately regulated for each operational frequency band of 2.44 GHz, 3.36 GHz, and 5.52 GHz by the height of a central patch, a right patch with a thin strip line, and a small patch on the left, respectively. The antenna is manufactured on a size of 50x35 mm2 FR4 substrate with a thickness of 0.8 mm and a permittivity of 4.3. The suggested antenna is appropriate for network board internet of things (NB-IoT) technology working at 2.4 GHz/5.2 GHz/5.8 GHz (WLAN), 3.5 GHz (WiMAX), and 2.3 GHz/2.6 GHz/3.5 GHz (5G technology). The antenna's radiation pattern is omnidirectional, and its average gain is approximately 2dBi. © 2023 IEEE.

It is one of the topics that have been studied extensively on maximum power point tracking(MPPT)*** or soft computing methods are used for *** soft computing approaches are more effective than traditional approaches,studies on MPPT have shifted in this *** study aims comparison of performance of seven meta-heuristic training algorithms in the neuro-fuzzy training for *** meta-heuristic training algorithms used are particle swarm optimization(PSO),harmony search(HS),cuckoo search(CS),artificial bee colony(ABC)algorithm,bee algorithm(BA),differential evolution(DE)and flower pollination algorithm(FPA).The antecedent and conclusion parameters of neuro-fuzzy are determined by these *** data of a 250 W photovoltaic(PV)is used in the *** effective MPPT,different neuro-fuzzy structures,different membership functions and different control parameter values are evaluated in *** training algorithms are compared in terms of solution quality and convergence *** strengths and weaknesses of these algorithms are *** is seen that the type and number of membership function,colony size,number of generations affect the solution quality and convergence speed of the training *** a result,it has been observed that CS and ABC algorithm are more effective than other algorithms in terms of solution quality and convergence in solving the related problem.

This paper aims to implement and use the Spring Security framework to secure and authenticate the connection between a web application and the ESP32 device. In the context of a web application, by analyzing the integration of the Spring Security framework, it investigates the ways in which it manages the complex process of authentication and authorization, thus providing a secure and protected connection to an IoT device. Additionally, this study investigates the integration and use of the RTOS operating system to manage physical access in an IoT environment, in particular by implementing the opening of a door using tags. The mechanism described above leads to an additional level of security and control over physical access in an IoT ecosystem. © 2024 IEEE.

Visible light communication(VLC),which is a prominent emerging solution that complements the radio frequency(RF)technology,exhibits the potential to meet the demands of fifth-generation(5G)and beyond *** random movement of mobile terminals in the indoor environment is a challenge in the VLC *** model of optical attocells has a critical role in the uniform distribution and the quality of communication links in terms of received power and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR).As such,the optical attocells positions were optimized in this study with a developed try and error(TE)*** optimized optical attocells were examined and compared with previous *** novel approach had successfully increased minimum received power from−1.29 to−0.225 dBm,along with enhanced SNR performance by 2.06 *** bit error rate(BER)was reduced to 4.42×10−8 and 6.63×10−14 by utilizing OOK-NRZ and BPSK modulation techniques,*** optimized attocells positions displayed better uniform distribution,as both received power and SNR performances improved by 0.45 and 0.026,*** the results of the proposed model are optimal,it is suitable for standard office and room model applications.

Discontinuity in long Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) sequences creates harmful diseases. Changes in the DNA structure refers to changes in the human immunity system. Tuberculosis is a critical disease that causes coughing, fatigue, unintentional weight loss and fever on aged people due to the disorder in the DNA. Breaks or mutations over long DNA sequences are the pivotal reasons for this fatal disease. This study developed an automated machine learning technique to assess the total number of such breaks in the long DNA sequences. Data cleansing and deep neural network techniques are applied to handle this big data. The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database has been used to extract the amino acid sequences for Tuberculosis disease from the big DNA datasets. Results reveal that the proposed automated approach is significantly effective for the determination of DNA sequence breaks for the tuberculosis diseases due to the high sensitivity of Markov chain as well as the effective normalization techniques. This approach fixed the size of the training datasets and recursively divide the whole dataset into certain length. The study also adopts multiple predictions approaches, such as the hidden Markov chain, Box-Cox transformation and linear transformation to forecast about the breaks for any long positions of the training and testing datasets. The results demonstrated that hidden the Markov chain model provided faster analysis with more accurate and reliable results. © Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2018.

The Gannet Optimization Algorithm (GOA) and the Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) demonstrate strong performance;however, there remains room for improvement in convergence and practical applications. This study introduces a hybrid optimization algorithm, named the adaptive inertia weight whale optimization algorithm and gannet optimization algorithm (AIWGOA), which addresses challenges in enhancing handwritten documents. The hybrid strategy integrates the strengths of both algorithms, significantly enhancing their capabilities, whereas the adaptive parameter strategy mitigates the need for manual parameter setting. By amalgamating the hybrid strategy and parameter-adaptive approach, the Gannet Optimization Algorithm was refined to yield the AIWGOA. Through a performance analysis of the CEC2013 benchmark, the AIWGOA demonstrates notable advantages across various metrics. Subsequently, an evaluation index was employed to assess the enhanced handwritten documents and images, affirming the superior practical application of the AIWGOA compared with other algorithms.

Fault diagnosis in wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) is important to protect communities and ecosystems from toxic elements discharged into water. In this sense, fault identification of sensors plays an important role as they are the key components of the water plants control, especially because environmental legislation is very strict when referring to failures or anomalies in WWTPs. This paper analyzes the performances of two Deep Learning models, a Feedforward Neural Network (FFNN) and a 1D Convolution Neural Network (1DCNN) for identifying five operating states of the dissolved oxygen (DO) sensor: normal and faulty (bias, stuck, spike and precision degradation faults). The experiments were conducted on the Benchmark Simulator Model No 2 (BSM2) developed by the IWA Task Group. The performance of the Deep Learning (DL) classifiers was evaluated via accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The best overall classification accuracy was obtained by FFNN, 98.32% for training and 98.30% for testing. © 2023 IEEE.

Air quality forecasting is critical for environmental monitoring and public health, and in this study, we propose a hybrid approach utilizing Gooseneck Barnacle Optimization (GBO) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) to enhance predictive accuracy. The air quality dataset, comprising pollutant concentrations (CO, NOx, benzene) and meteorological factors (temperature, humidity), is sourced from the UCI Machine Learning Repository. GBO is employed to fine-tune the ANN's hyperparameters (especially the weight and bias), as well as the number of layers, neurons, and activation functions, to improve regression-based forecasting. The GBOANN model achieves a Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 0.562 and a Root Mean Squared Percentage Error (RMSPE) of 5.63%, outperforming other metaheuristic methods like BMO, SSA, DA, MVO, and EMA. This study demonstrates the GBO-ANN model's potential for accurate real-time air quality forecasting, offering a robust, sustainable solution. © 2025 IEEE.
