Food recognition has captivated much significance for health-related appliances. The traditional schemes mainly concern on the classification of food depending on its names and disregards the basic ingredient compositions. However, owing to shortage of datasets with labels of ingredient, the issues on food ingredient recognition (FIR) is often unnoticed. This work develops a new FIR approach, where, textual features, SIFT and deep features are derived. Then, the DBN classifier is deployed for the recognition of food ingredients. To get a precise recognition, tuning the weights of DBN is done via Improved TDO (ITDO) model. © 2023 IEEE.

Within the electronic design automation(EDA) domain, artificial intelligence(AI)-driven solutions have emerged as formidable tools, yet they typically augment rather than redefine existing methodologies. These solutions often repurpose deep learning models from other domains, such as vision, text, and graph analytics, applying them to circuit design without tailoring to the unique complexities of electronic circuits. Such an “AI4EDA” approach falls short of achieving a holistic design synthesis and understanding,overlooking the intricate interplay of electrical, logical, and physical facets of circuit data. This study argues for a paradigm shift from AI4EDA towards AI-rooted EDA from the ground up, integrating AI at the core of the design process. Pivotal to this vision is the development of a multimodal circuit representation learning technique, poised to provide a comprehensive understanding by harmonizing and extracting insights from varied data sources, such as functional specifications, register-transfer level(RTL) designs, circuit netlists,and physical layouts. We champion the creation of large circuit models(LCMs) that are inherently multimodal, crafted to decode and express the rich semantics and structures of circuit data, thus fostering more resilient, efficient, and inventive design methodologies. Embracing this AI-rooted philosophy, we foresee a trajectory that transcends the current innovation plateau in EDA, igniting a profound “shift-left” in electronic design methodology. The envisioned advancements herald not just an evolution of existing EDA tools but a revolution, giving rise to novel instruments of design-tools that promise to radically enhance design productivity and inaugurate a new epoch where the optimization of circuit performance, power, and area(PPA) is achieved not incrementally, but through leaps that redefine the benchmarks of electronic systems' capabilities.

Conventional fiber Bragg grating (FBG) accelerometer demodulation often suffers from high environmental sensitivity, complexity, and cost. To address these issues, this paper presents two arrayed waveguide grating (AWG)-based dynamic spectral reconstruction models. First, a novel differential FBG accelerometer with an equal-intensity triangular cantilever beam and a symmetric string-like design enhances sensitivity and mitigates temperature interference. A power ratio-nonlinear logarithmic regression (PR-NLR) model derived from static calibration then enables spectral reconstruction and wavelength demodulation across varying accelerations, achieving 4-82pm accuracy, slightly below that of high-speed demodulators (HSD). Next, by integrating convolutional neural networks (CNN), bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM), attention mechanisms, and a generative adversarial network (GAN) for data augmentation, prediction errors drop to 1-26pm at 20Hz and 0.2-21pm at 40Hz-a reduction of at least 60% over PR-NLR. This outcome underscores the advantages of deep learning (DL) in managing complex spectral shifts. By overcoming frequency-only demodulation limits, the proposed AWG approach achieves precise wavelength demodulation through dynamic spectral reconstruction. Its compact design, low manufacturing cost, and robust performance facilitate scalable deployment in structural health monitoring, particularly for bridge vibration analysis and industrial machinery diagnostics. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

This paper presents a study for subsurface object detection using different scanning acquisition paths. The air coupled system is considered, which can be easily attached to the unnamed aerial vehicle (UAV). The objective is to determine which acquisition scenario can acquire the largest area of interest. The SFCW radar can generate 200 samples within a frequency range of 500MHz-2.5GHz with pulse repetition interval of 100ms. The TEM antennas are used for transmitting and receiving signals. The following configurations of air coupled GPR are presented: monostatic down-looking and side-looking configurations, bistatic configuration, where antennas were separated for 2 meters, circular configuration with platform rotating along its vertical axis and circular configuration with platform moving along trajectory. The experiments were conducted using a polygon of 3×3×0.5 meters with homogeneous clay structure. Experiments showed that bistatic and circular acquisitions can be used for scanning ground areas of interest between 1 and 1.5 meters, when platform is placed 0.75 m above surface. © 2023 IEEE.

Patient medical information in all forms is crucial to keep private and secure,particularly when medical data communication occurs through insecure ***,there is a bad need for protecting and securing the color medical images against impostors and *** this paper,an optical medical image security approach is *** is based on the optical bit-plane Jigsaw Transform(JT)and Fractional Fourier Transform(FFT).Different kernels with a lone lens and a single arbitrary phase code are exploited in this security approach.A preceding bit-plane scrambling process is conducted on the input color medical images prior to the JT and FFT processes to accomplish a tremendous level of robustness and *** confirm the efficiency of the suggested security approach for secure color medical image communication,various assessments on different color medical images are examined based on different statistical security ***,a comparative analysis is introduced between the suggested security approach and other conventional cryptography *** simulation outcomes acquired for performance assessment demonstrate that the suggested security approach is highly *** has excellent encryption/decryption performance and superior security results compared to conventional cryptography approaches with achieving recommended values of average entropy and correlation coefficient of 7.63 and 0.0103 for encrypted images.

Enhancing the performance and extending the life-cycle of older vehicles through retrofitting with improved systems presents an alluring opportunity. However, achieving accurate sensing of crucial parameters, such as engine revolutions per minute (RPM), poses challenges due to the need for mechanical manipulation and some designs, which may result in diminished accuracy in adverse settings. This study proposes using the primary ignition pulse signal to accurately determine engine speed without mechanical manipulation. We investigate the effectiveness of signal processing methods, including the RC filter, 2nd and 6th order Butterworth filter, to improve the accuracy of the readings. Our proposed method successfully collects data from conventional internal combustion engines, with simulated signal processing methods producing accurate detection of RPM and reduced fluctuations. The proposed method eliminated the noise, leading to accurate RPM measurements, while the maximum standard deviation observed for the RC filter implementation was 38.74. By accurately sensing key parameters, older vehicles can be retrofitted with improved systems, leading to enhanced performance and an extended lifecycle. The introduced methods can be practically implemented using custom electronics or embedded systems and can contribute to future research on automotive retrofitting. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper reports on using simulation to characterize a Carbon Nanotube (CNT) based 2:1 multiplexer (MUX). This study aimed to evaluate the electrical properties, particularly the propagation delay, average power consumption, Power-Delay Product (PDP), and Energy-Delay Product (EDP). Different design approaches namely conventional CMOS, Pass Transistor Logic (PTL) approach, and Gate Diffusion Input (GDI) were adopted. The voltage supply (VDD) and diameter of the CNT are varied to see the effect on the electrical properties. The simulation was carried out using HSPICE. Through simulation, it is found that the GDI approach used the least number of transistors followed by PTL and CMOS. The calculation of the propagation delay exhibits a substantial improvement of more than 95% using the GDI approach. The average power consumption shows a 55.30% and 35.16% reduction when compared to CMOS and PTL respectively. The PDP demonstrates an improvement of more than 95% when compared with conventional CMOS and PTL approaches. The same trend of observation is also achieved for EDP. The variation of the VDD and chirality has a markable effect on the propagation delay and average power consumption. This is a preliminary attempt to evaluate the performance of CNT implementation in MUX. The outcome can become the guideline for engineers working in circuit design using emerging materials for future nanoelectronics applications. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. Background: With the development of technology, the data amount has increased signif-icantly. In data processing, the multi table query is the most frequent operation. Because the join keys cannot correspond one by one, there will be much redundant data transmission, resulting in a waste of network bandwidth. Objective: In order to solve the problems of network overhead and low efficiency, this paper pro-poses a heuristic multi table join optimization method. By sharing information, the unconnected tu-ples are eliminated so as to reduce the amount of data transmitting. This shortens response time and improves execution performance. Methods: Firstly, the join key information of one table is compressed by the algorithm to make the filtered information for sharing. Then, the concurrent execution is controlled according to the pancake parallel strategy. Finally, the selection strategy of multi table join order is proposed. Results/Discussion: The experiments show that the proposed algorithm can filter a large amount of useless data and improve query efficiency. At the same time, the proposed algorithm reduces a lot of network overhead, improves the algorithm performance, and better solves the problem of low efficiency of multi table join. Conclusion: This paper introduces the heuristic strategy to optimize the algorithm, so that it can perform the join tasks in parallel, which further improves the performance of multi table join. The algorithm creatively combines heuristic data filtering, which greatly improves the quality of data processing. The algorithm is worth popularizing and applying. © 2023 Bentham Science Publishers.

In recent years, the proliferation of smart devices and associated technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), has witnessed a substantial growth. However, the limited processing power and storage capacity of smart devices make them vulnerable to cyberattacks, rendering traditional security and cryptography techniques inadequate. To address these challenges, blockchain (BC) technology has emerged as a promising solution. This study introduces an efficient framework for the Internet of Healthcare Things (IoHT), presenting a novel cryptosystem for color medical images using BC technology in conjunction with the IoT, Secure Hash Algorithm 256-bit (SHA256), shuffling, and bitwise XOR operations. The encryption scheme is specifically designed for an IIoT grid network computing system, relying on diffusion and confusion principles. In this paper, the proposed cryptosystem strength is evaluated against differential attacks with several comprehensive metrics. Simulation results and theoretical analysis demonstrate the cryptosystem effectiveness, showcasing its ability to provide high levels of security and immunity to data leakage. The proposed cryptosystem offers a versatile range of technical solutions and strategies that are adaptable to various scenarios. The evaluation metrics, with approximate values of 99.61% for Number of Pixels Change Rate (NPCR), 33.46% for Unified Average Changed Intensity (UACI), and 8 for information entropy, closely align with the desired ideal outcomes. Consequently, this paper contributes to the advancement of secure and private systems for medical image encryption based on BC technology, potentially mitigating the risks associated with cyberattacks on smart medical devices. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

In the field of image processing, haze is a type of atmospheric scattering that reduces contrast and clarity of images, frequently masking small details and far-off objects. It is mostly caused by microscopic airborne particles like smoke, dust, and water droplets that scatter incoming light. The scattered light, producing a hazy image, diminishes the direct light that reaches the camera sensor. Many image processing methods have been presened to solve this problem and lessen the impacts of haze. Usually, these methods work by determining how much haze is there in an image, and then using this information to get the image back to its assumed previous quality. In this work, we present the proposed Modified Contrast Enhancement and Exposure Fusion (MCEEF) technique. The MCEEF dehazing technique falls under the umbrella of enhancement-based dehazing techniques. In this technique, hazy frames or images undergo sharpening through a Smoothing-Sharpening Image Filter (SSIF) designed to accentuate the disparity between the haze and objects in images. Subsequently, Gamma Correction (GC) and Color Preserving Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CP-AHE) enhance the sharpened hazy images by augmenting their contrast. Dehazed images are then obtained by fusing the results of the CP-AHE- and GC-enhanced images. The MCEEF dehazing technique is aided with enhanced hazy images or frames as input for the dehazing process. Moreover, essential enhancement tools precede the MCEEF dehazing technique. These tools include homomorphic processing and Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE), which are instrumental in controlling the dynamic range before the dehazing phase. In the proposed approach, a hazy image or frame is initially subjected to homomorphic processing, followed by the application of CLAHE, and finally, the MCEEF dehazing technique is employed.
