Environmental monitoring and educational accessibility face significant challenges due to the complexity and high cost of traditional satellite systems. Addressing these issues requires a cost-effective solution that enables comprehensive study and intervention to improve environmental conditions. In this paper, we introduce CanSat, a compact satellite designed for educational and research purposes, utilizing off-the-shelf components and a 3D-printed frame to streamline operations and focus on critical processes such as modeling and communication. Equipped with a microcontroller (Esp32) and an RF communication (LoRa Module). CanSat efficiently processes and transmits data, including real-time video, temp, and %RH (% Relative humidity), to ground stations. The CanSat's performance was observed through successful data transmission and global accessibility of data visualization and analysis. The results indicated reliable operation, with data visualization and analysis accessible worldwide through customized web pages and real-time tracking capabilities, demonstrating CanSat's potential as a user-friendly and cost-effective platform for near-space exploration © 2024 IEEE.

The rapid advancement of technology has brought transformative changes in the field of the healthcare system in recent years. Since they can enhance the quality and accessibility of healthcare services, particularly for patients with chronic conditions or in rural regions, microcontroller-based health monitoring systems have been extensively researched and developed in recent years. This paper presents a system capable of multiple measurements and improved ability of health parameters with a cost-efficient solution with reliability and portability. The proposed system is able to measure the parameters at an accuracy of 97.8% in terms of heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, and oxygen saturation. The system also proposes continuous monitoring of the patient's health status by collecting data from sensors attached to the patient's finger and transmitting it wirelessly to a central database via Blynk where the healthcare provider can monitor the results in real-time and provide immediate feedback. © 2023 IEEE.

Multiband Slotted Crescent-shaped Patch Antenna for K-band Satellite and mmWave Communications

In this paper, a multiband miniaturized crescent-shaped patch antenna with circular slots is presented for ultra-wideband applications. The proposed antenna is constructed on a Flame Retardant 4 (FR-4) dielectric substrate. Next-generation wireless communication systems, such as beyond 5G (B5G) and 6G mobile communication systems require a wider bandwidth and higher data rates. The overall size of the proposed antenna is 11.4 mm3 operating in the frequency range of 17.73 GHz to 26.04 GHz and 29.6 GHz to 31.02 GHz for satellite communications and radar systems, respectively, as well as 35.40 GHz to 38.65 GHz for future mmWave B5G mobile applications. These frequency ranges usually fall into the K-band and mmWave frequency spectrums. Simulation results demonstrate that the peak gain of the proposed antenna is 4.68 dB, which is obtained at 25 GHz. © 2022 The Institute of electronics and Information Engineers.

VANETs are highly attractive and is used in maximum of the applications of cross-regional communication. To increase the coverage of the vehicular network, Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAVs) are introduced, and they get connected with the satellite networks to perform heterogeneous communication. With the help of this connectivity, the communication quality of ground level to air medium is increased. Currently the vehicle usage is highly increased and as a results of communication link failure, improper resource allocation are arises whither abruptly assumes a stability about a network with that increases an energy consumption and communication delay in the heterogeneous networks. In these conditions, thus study is idea of Resource Allocation and Edge Computing for Dual Hop Communication (RAEDH) in introduced in satellite assisted UAVs enabled VANETs. The major sections of the approach are UAV assisted mobile computing, resource allocation among the vehicles and the UAVs, and dual communication among the vehicles and the *** these methods the input resources are properly allocated and that reduces the power utility and communication delay. Initially, the vehicular network is established, incorporating trusted components like TA, RSU, and CRS. Subsequently, mobile edge computing reduces energy consumption through computation offloading and optimized UAV trajectory selection. Resource allocation, facilitated by whale optimization, ensures effective utilization across vehicles. The implementation of this method is done in NS3, and the scenario is analyzed using two parameters like number of vehicles and its speed. The output parameters that remain thought-out over a performance examination stay throughput, end-to-end delay, energy efficiency, packet loss, packet delivery ratio, and routing overhead, and as well those results are compared with the earlier methods. Finally, dual-hop transmission between vehicles and UAVs enhances delivery ratio and throughput. From

Attackers are targeting rooted Android mobile devices to gain access to confidential data such as credit cards and banking transactions. Despite the removal of rooting applications from Google Play Store, attackers still provide easy rooting methods through third-party application stores. Previous studies have focused on rooting detection systems, but they have ignored Android rooting risk assessment, impacting device security. This research introduces a risk assessment framework for Android devices named ARAS, which uses three risk criteria: system, privacy, and financial criteria. ARAS extracts Android static analysis features and adopts Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) pairwise comparison methodology to decide the rooting risk level. The proposed scoring model is applied to a rooted device dataset to demonstrate the risk level assessment. ARAS introduces four levels of risk: low, medium, high, and critical risk levels, providing a decision support system for allowing or denying rooted devices access to applications and confidential information. © 2023 IEEE.

The new generation of aircraft will experience increasing electrical power demands because of the more electric trends and advances in recent years. Adopting higher voltage levels is widely discussed for More Electric Aircraft (MEA) Power Distribution Systems (PDSs) to efficiently deliver the increased power ratings and reduce the system weight. However, higher voltage levels also indicate the risk of electrical insulation failures. Hence, it is essential to select optimised voltage levels for onboard PDSs considering the trade-offs. In addition, the relationship between the PDS weight/efficiency and voltage levels is complex rather than linear, resulting in infeasibility issues when optimising voltage levels. This study proposes a voltage optimisation method based on selecting among a set of components, i.e., converters and cables, for onboard DC PDSs. Moreover, to improve feasibility, the Integrated Converter Component (ICC) concept is proposed to combine each converter with its lightest input/output cables as an integrated block. Hence, the optimal bus voltages can be decided by selecting the lightest and most efficient ICCs while meeting the power delivery and voltage conversion requirements. © 2024 IEEE.

Transfer learning is a powerful technique for image classification, especially when dealing with limited data. However, selection of the best transfer learning approach and model remains challenging, since the strategy is highly influenced by the scenario. This work conducted a thorough analysis of four transfer learning approaches for binary classification, and multiclass classification using four pretrained models i.e. MobileNetV2, MobileNetV3Large, EfficientNetB0, and EfficientNetB5. The test accuracy was measured with respect to the sample size considering the effects of data augmentation and fine tuning. The key finding of the study revealed that data augmentation has improved the test accuracy by up to 11.8%. Moreover, the lightweight models marked a breakthrough by outperforming large scale models' accuracy for sparse data settings when fine tuning (FT) and data augmentation (DA) are applied appropriately. Hence, this work provides a comprehensive overview on selecting different transfer learning approaches for sparse data classification by exploring diverse models and datasets, while discussing the consequences and challenges for future real-world applications. © 2024 IEEE.

Video in an outdoor environment suffers from the haze problem due to smoke, dust, and other particles in the atmosphere. The quality of video under these atmospheric conditions is clearly/dramatically degraded, leading to poor contrast and information leakage. The proposed algorithm in this paper depends on pre-processing of video frames prior to the dehazing process. Different enhancement techniques are used to remove noise and control the dynamic range, because each frame has some noise due to sensor measurement errors. This noise might be magnified during the haze removal process, if totally neglected. Previous dehazing algorithms enhance the video contrast and reduce frame degradation. We use optimized dehazing algorithms, namely a dual-transmission-map dehazing algorithm, and a recursive Deep Residual Learning (DRL) network, as dehazing tools. We modify the previous dehazing algorithms to generate new algorithms to be suitable not only for visible frames but also for Near Infrared (NIR) frames. In the optimized dehazing algorithms, the haze effect is reduced, according to the hazing model. In the dual-transmission-map dehazing algorithm, the effect of attenuation parameter R and attenuation weight U on the dehazed frames is investigated. A dual-transmission-map algorithm, depending on the Dark Channel Prior (DCP) technique, is studied. We study the effect of a regularization parameter Ω on the visible and NIR dehazed frames without and with enhancement techniques. For the recursive deep residual learning algorithm, we increase the number of iterations in the DRL network from three iterations in the traditional DRL algorithm without denoising techniques to nine iterations, in order to explore the impact of increasing the number of iterations on the output dehazed frames. Language models excel in linguistic processing but often face challenges with complex reasoning tasks that require real-world interaction and multi-step logic. This paper presents the Cognitive Adaptive Reasoning Architecture (CARA), a framework that enhances reasoning by integrating a modular swarm architecture with knowledge graphs (KGs) and specialized agents. These agents, equipped with diverse tools, dynamically adapt to various tasks, actively engaging with real-world data. CARA's continuous memory update cycle ensures each reasoning step is based on up-to-date, contextual KG knowledge, enhancing decision-making. Incorporating human insights further aligns outcomes with nuanced cognition. Experimental results demonstrate CARA's superior performance over larger models, advancing language models' reasoning capabilities for more context-aware, informed decision-making in dynamic environments. © 2024 IEEE.
