Typical reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) implementations include metasurfaces with almost passive unit elements capable of reflecting their incident waves in controllable ways, enhancing wireless communications in a cost-effective manner. In this paper, we advance the concept of intelligent metasurfaces by introducing a flexible array geometry, termed flexible intelligent metasurface (FIM), which supports both element movement (EM) and passive beamforming (PBF). In particular, based on the single-input single-output (SISO) system setup, we first compare three modes of FIM, namely, EM-only, PBF-only, and EM-PBF, in terms of received signal power under different FIM and channel setups. The PBF-only mode, which only adjusts the reflect phase, is shown to be less effective than the EM-only mode in enhancing received signal strength. In a multi-element, multi-path scenario, the EM-only mode improves the received signal power by 125% compared to the PBF-only mode. The EM-PBF mode, which optimizes both element positions and phases, further enhances performance. Additionally, we investigate the channel estimation problem for FIM systems by designing a protocol that gathers EM and PBF measurements, enabling the formulation of a compressive sensing problem for joint cascaded and direct channel estimation. We then propose a sparse recovery algorithm called clustering mean-field variational sparse Bayesian learning, which enhances estimation performance while maintaining low complexity. Due to large amount of image data, the accuracy and real-time performance of classification are difficult problems in image classification. On the one hand, the broad learning system (BLS) has achieved good results in the timeliness of classification. On the other hand, deep learning feature extraction effect is good, but its structure is complex and the training time is long. Therefore, based on the above advantages of both methods, this paper proposed BLS based on deep features for image classification. Firstly, a feature extractor is constructed based on the ResNet101 to obtain the deep features of the classification image. Then, the feature nodes and enhancement nodes of BLS are constructed based on the deep features. Through the experiment, our method has two performance on benchmark datasets: high classification accuracy, good real-time. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) is expected to be a promising technology in the sixth-generation (6G) wireless networks for its ability to alleviate resources shortage and excessive hardware expenses. One typical representative for ISAC waveforms is the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) waveform, which divides the time-frequency resources into orthogonal resource elements (REs). In order to satisfy their diverse design requirements and mitigate mutual interference, the communication and sensing subsystems can be assigned with different REs, which necessitates effective allocation strategies of different resources across time and frequency domains. In this article, a cross-domain multicarrier waveform design method-ology is proposed, which optimizes the RE assignment and power allocation strategies for the OFDM-based ISAC system. Specifically, for sensing performance enhancement, the unit cells of the ambiguity function (AF) of the sensing components are spe-cially shaped to achieve a “locally” perfect auto-correlation (AC) property within a predefined region of interest (RoI) in the Delay-Doppler domain. Afterwards, the irrelevant cells outside the RoI, which can determine the sensing power allocation strategy, are optimized alternatively with the communication power allocation strategy to maximize the throughput for the communication purpose. Numerical results demonstrate the superiority of the cross-domain multicarrier waveform design, which also provides useful guidelines for parameter settings of the proposed OFDM-based ISAC system.

In the development of wireless communication technology, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology has emerged as a key enabler, significantly enhancing the capacity of communication systems. However, traditional MIMO systems, which rely on fixed-position antennas (FPAs) with spacing limitations, cannot fully exploit the channel variations in the continuous spatial domain, thus limiting the system’s spatial multiplexing performance and diversity. To address these limitations, movable antennas (MAs) have been introduced, offering a breakthrough in signal processing and spatial multiplexing by overcoming the constraints of FPA-based systems. Furthermore, this paper extends the functionality of MAs by introducing movable rotatable antennas (MRAs), which enhance the system’s ability to optimize performance in the spatial domain by adding rotational degrees of freedom. By incorporating a dynamic precoding framework based on both antenna position and rotation angle optimization, and employing the zero-forcing (ZF) precoding method, this paper proposes an efficient optimization approach aimed at improving signal quality, mitigating interference, and solving the non-linear, constrained optimization problem using the sequential quadratic programming (SQP) algorithm. Due to the need for different communication types (Voice, video, and data) over the network, vendors improving enterprise networks for this purpose to minimize delays in order to support the better result, some applications like voice considered real-time applications which suffer from delay, jitter and packet losses, This paper discusses comparison of QoS performance between three QoS algorithms (PQ, FIFO, and WFQ), when using MPLS-TE technology considering the VoIP QoS parameters (end to end delay, jitter, and packet loss, as simulation done by OPNET modeler 14.5. © 2021 IEEE.

In modern life, health status prediction has become very crucial. Big data analysis plays a vital role to predict this perfectly. Asthma is a severe chronic disease with severe symptoms. Asthma disease is a chronic disease that leads to death. Researchers have focused on this for better decision making to predict the disease timely use of predictive analysis. This study proposes a Predictive Analytic Model for Asthma prediction using Random Forest (PAM-RF). Data of patients suffering from Asthma has been trained by a random forest approach which predicts to classify the data. Experiments are performed on Hadoop-spark which predicts the future health state of patients. The proposed approach has attained an accuracy of 98.80 percent to predict the asthma disease. © 2020 IEEE.

In this paper, an adaptive position control method combining proportional-derivative (PD) control, RBF neural network-based sliding mode (SM) control, and feedforward (FF) control, i.e., PD-FF-SM control, is proposed to deal with the dynamic uncertainties, disturbances, and slow response in lower limb exoskeleton robot system. The Lagrange method is utilized to establish dynamic models that ignore the uncertainties and disturbances in the swing phase and supporting phase. Then, the PD feedback controller is designed with a sliding surface function, to keep the system stable. The FF controller is adopted to improve the response by using dynamic models. And the RBF neural network-based SM controller is designed to compensate for the uncertainties and disturbances. The system’s stability is verified by Lyapunov’s theorem. The simulation results show that the proposed control method can effectively reduce the error of position tracking and response time with inaccurate dynamic modeling.

In the burgeoning field of autonomous vehicles (AVs), trajectory prediction remains a formidable challenge, especially in mixed autonomy environments. Traditional approaches often rely on computational methods such as time-series analysis. Our research diverges significantly by adopting an interdisciplinary approach that integrates principles of human cognition and observational behavior into trajectory prediction models for AVs. We introduce a novel "adaptive visual sector" mechanism that mimics the dynamic allocation of attention human drivers exhibit based on factors like spatial orientation, proximity, and driving speed. Additionally, we develop a "dynamic traffic graph" using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Graph Attention Networks (GAT) to capture spatio-temporal dependencies among agents. Benchmark tests on the NGSIM, HighD, and MoCAD datasets reveal that our model (GAVA) outperforms state-of-the-art baselines by at least 15.2%, 19.4%, and 12.0%, respectively. Our findings underscore the potential of leveraging human cognition principles to enhance the proficiency and adaptability of trajectory prediction algorithms in AVs. Thermoresponsive mobility of liquid crystals and reactive mesogens during photopolymerization-induced phase separation

Molecular interactions between liquid crystals (LCs) and reactive mesogens (RMs) at temperatures across the phase transition regions were comprehensively studied during photopolymerization-induced phase separation (PPIPS) beginning with raw mixtures until the formation of polymer network liquid crystals (PNLCs). Then, the molecules were found to be nonuniformly more and less mobile in response to temperature as PPIPS progressed. Optical birefringence and infrared absorption were carefully measured throughout PPIPS, using 4-cyano-4′-hexylbiphenyl (6CB) and 1,4bis-[4-(3-acryloyloxypropyloxy) benzoyloxy]-2-methylbenzene (RM257) as typical LCs and RMs. Microscopic views of thermoresponsive changes in the molecular orientation order of both LCs and RMs were obtained: LCs and RMs in raw mixtures interacted with one another but uniformly transformed their molecular orientation. Such interactions continuously change to become nonuniform with progress in PPIPS. At the incipient stages of PPIPS, RMs, which are polymerized but not completely networked, inhibit LCs from changing their molecular orientation and vice versa. As PPIPS progresses, some LCs become more mobile and some less mobile owing to RM constraints. The domain configuration of the submicrometer phase separation affects the thermoresponsive mobility of LCs and RMs, that is, LCs become more mobile in LC-richer areas. The quantitative knowledge here provides comprehensive insight that LCs and RMs are mutually constrained and that such interactive behavior varies nonuniformly as PPIPS progresses.
