In this work, Atropine as the anticholinergic drug was measured using the environmentally friendly sensor. In this regard, Self-cultivated Spirulina platensis with electroless silver was employed as a powder amplifier in carbon paste electrode modification. Also, 1-Hexyl-3 methylimidazolium Hexafluorophosphate (HMIM PF₆) ion liquid as a conductor binder was used in the suggested electrode construction. Atropine determination was investigated by voltammetry methods. According to voltammograms, the electrochemical behavior of atropine depends on pH, and pH 10.0 was used as the optimal condition. Moreover, the diffusion control process for the electro-oxidation of atropine was verified by the scan rate study, so the diffusion coefficient (D∼ 3.0136×10⁻⁴ cm²/sec) value was computed from the chronoamperometry study. Furthermore, responses of the fabricated sensor were linear in the concentration range from 0.01 to 800 μM, and the lowest detection limit of the Atropine determination was obtained at 5 nM. Moreover, the stability, reproducibility, and selectivity factors of the suggested sensor were confirmed by the results. Finally, the recovery percentages for atropine sulfate ampoule (94.48–101.58), and water (98.01–101.3) approve of the applicability of the proposed sensor to Atropine determination in real samples. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd

In this paper, a mathematical model for assessing the impact of COVID-19 on tuberculosis disease is proposed and analysed. There are pieces of evidence that patients with Tuberculosis (TB) have more chances of developing the SARS-CoV-2 infection. The mathematical model is qualitatively and quantitatively analysed by using the theory of stability analysis. The dynamic system shows endemic equilibrium point which is stable when R₀<1 and unstable when R₀>1. The global stability of the endemic point is analysed by constructing the Lyapunov function. The dynamic stability also exhibits bifurcation behaviour. The optimal control theory is used to find an optimal solution to the problem in the mathematical model. The sensitivity analysis is performed to clarify the effective parameters which affect the reproduction number the most. Numerical simulation is carried out to assess the effect of various biological parameters in the dynamic of both tuberculosis and COVID-19 classes. Our simulation results show that the COVID-19 and TB infections can be mitigated by controlling the transmission rate γ. © 2023 The Author(s)

In recent times, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are broadly utilized in targeted monitoring applications. Traditional target coverage techniques usually consider that environment is known completely and every target is covered by single sensor. However those algorithms are inflexible when the sensor is about to die, that is, lack of energy and therefore target has to be covered with more than a sensor which is termed as n coverage crisis. In general, n coverage problem is energy and time consuming process, as well sensor organization is needed all the time. To resolve this crisis, this work anticipates a n coverage model with VCH-PSO (Virtual Cluster Head based Particle Swarm Optimization and EFLM (Energy management based Fuzzy logic Model) to enlarge the lifetime of WSN. During the search of optimal area coverage, diverse factors like node position, energy consumption, and coverage range of sensors are considered significantly. Simulation was carried out in MATLAB environment and compared with prevailing techniques. The proposed model shows better trade off in terms of network lifetime and time needed for switching between various coverage regions. © 2020 IEEE.

A novel approach to reducing information leakage for quantum key distribution

Quantum key distribution (QKD) is an important branch of quantum information science as it holds promise for unconditionally secure communication. For QKD research, a central issue is to improve the final secure key rate (SKR) and the maximal transmission distance. To address this issue, most works focused on reducing the information leakage of QKD. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to further reduce the information leakage by specially considering the overlap between the information leakage of quantum part and post-processing part. The overlap means that the information leakage of post-processing part caused solely by multi-photon pulses is considered twice in previous studies, i.e., both in quantum part and post-processing part. Since the information carried by multi-photon pulses has been considered as completely known by Eve through the photon-number-splitting attack in quantum part, there is no need to consider it in post-processing part repetitively during the SKR calculation. Therefore, our approach can theoretically reduce the information leakage of a QKD protocol. Based on this idea, we derive the formulas to calculate the amount of information leakage for decoy-BB84 and sending-or-not-sending twin-field protocols. Simulation results for these two typical protocols also demonstrate that our approach evidently improves the SKR as well as the maximal transmission distance under practical experimental parameters. Wearable antennas have received a great deal of popularity in recent years owing to their enticing characteristics and opportunities to realize lightweight, compact, low-cost, and versatile wireless communications and environments. These antennas must be conformal, and they must be built using lightweight materials and constructed in a low-profile configuration when mounted on various areas of the human body. These antennas ought to be able to function close to the human body with limited deterioration. These criteria render the layout of wearable antennas demanding, particularly when considering factors such as investigating the usability of textile substrates, high conductive materials during fabrication processes, and the effect of body binding scenarios on the performance of the design. Although there are minor differences in magnitude based on the implementations, several of these problems occur in the body-worn deployment sense. This study addresses the numerous problems and obstacles in the production of wearable antennas, their variety of materials, and the techniques of manufacturing alongside with bending scheme. This is accompanied by a summary of creative features and their respective approaches to address these problems recently raised by work in this area by the science community. © 2020. Big data in healthcare has made a positive difference in advancing analytical capabilities and lowering the costs of medical care. In addition to providing analytical capabilities on platforms supporting current and near-future AI with machine-learning and data-mining algorithms, there is also a need for ethical considerations mandating new ways to preserve privacy, all of which are preconditioned by the growing body of regulations and expectations. The purpose of this study is to improve existing clinical care by implementing a big data platform for the Czech Republic National Health Service. Based on the achieved performance and its compliance with mandatory guidelines, the reported big-data platform was selected as the winning solution from the Czech Republic national tender (Tender Id. VZ0036628, No. Z2017-035520). The platform, based on analytical Vertica NoSQL database for massive data processing, complies with the TPC-H1 for decision support benchmark, the European Union (EU) and the Czech Republic requirements, well-exceeding defined system performance thresholds. The reported artefacts and concepts are transferrable to healthcare systems in other countries and are intended to provide personalised autonomous assessment from big data in a cost-effective, scalable and high-performance manner. Learning medium for students in schools are very crucial as it will capture the student interest, thus make them understand about the topic. However, most of the time, students in school are learning in the traditional method, where all notes are obtained from textbooks provided for them. The theory explained in the textbooks make students confuse with what they had learn and the explanations is too details. This situation will affect the interest of students to study. With the growing of technology in almost every domain, sector, and industry revolution 4.0, mobile apps had become part of our life where the benefit of it also can be extend to the classroom. Thus, the use of mobile apps in education has several benefits by providing intuitive learning and attractive platforms. This research addresses the needs of mobile applications in learning environment. It will focus on development of a mobile apps for learning chemistry. This paper will consider the case study for a local secondary school in Malaysia. Usability test and Functionality test will be conducted to evaluate the function of the mobile apps. The methodology used to develop the mobile learning application is Mobile Application Development Life Cycle (MADLC) Model. The result form this research had shown that, mobile apps can help school students understanding the theory of specific topics in chemistry subject. Thus, mobile apps can be one of the learning tools, providing intuitive learning and attractive platforms, for students in school, which not only depending on their textbooks.

Energy efficiency optimization for multi-cell massive MIMO: Centralized and distributed power allocation algorithms

This paper investigates the energy efficiency (EE) optimization in downlink multi-cell massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO). In our research, the statistical channel state information (CSI) is exploited to reduce the signaling overhead. To maximize the minimum EE among the neighbouring cells, we design the transmit covariance matrices for each base station (BS). Specifically, optimization schemes for this max-min EE problem are developed, in the centralized and distributed ways, respectively. To obtain the transmit covariance matrices, we first find out the closed-form optimal transmit eigenmatrices for the BS in each cell, and convert the original transmit covariance matrices designing problem into a power allocation one. Then, to lower the computational complexity, we utilize an asymptotic approximation expression for the problem objective. Moreover, for the power allocation design, we adopt the minorization maximization method to address the non-convexity of the ergodic rate, and use Dinkelbach's transform to convert the max-min fractional problem into a series of convex optimization subproblems. To tackle the transformed subproblems, we propose a centralized iterative water-filling scheme. For reducing the backhaul burden, we further develop a distributed algorithm for the power allocation problem, which requires limited inter-cell information sharing. Finally, the performance of the proposed algorithms are demonstrated by extensive numerical results. © 2021, CC BY-NC-SA.

A circular substrate integrated waveguide (CSIW) cavity was proposed based on the Electromagnetic band gap (EBG) teeth gear (TG) structure through a defected microstrip structure. A new class of TG-CSIW sensor with 20% size reduction based on the angle between input and output ports (ABIOP) has been established. The sensor operated at the ISM band with resonant frequency of 2.45GHz and was simulated by ANSYS HFSS software. Subsequently, the designed sensor ability to sense and detect different types of Zingiberaceace family of Java turmeric, Mango ginger, Black turmeric and Turmeric. The result achieved a very high unloaded quality factor 700 and good performance with ideal permittivity. The proposed sensor is practically useful for the medicine, cosmetic and food industries. © 2019 IEEE.
