As a highly repetitive logic operation unit in programmable logic modules, the operating speed of a carry adder circuit is crucial to the overall performance of the programmable logic circuit. In order to optimize circuit propagation delay and area overhead, this paper proposes an improved design scheme for carry adder circuits. Firstly, several basic adder structure types and their performance characteristics are compared to determine the most suitable architecture for carry adder circuits in programmable modules. Then, based on the carry-propagate principle of the carry lookahead adder, a novel single MOS transmission gate structure is proposed to optimize the underlying carry logic circuit. Finally, the carry adder circuit is implemented using a full-custom design flow in TSMC 28nm technology. Experimental results show that compared to existing logic designs, the proposed carry adder circuit in this paper reduces propagation delay and area overhead by 14% and 26.5% respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to address the radiation-induced effects in the timing units of configurable logic block(CLB), a design scheme for an anti-single event flip-flop based on master-slave D flip-flops has been proposed. This design scheme first optimizes the radiation-hardened structure of the dual-delay chains in SETTOFF and combines it with the functionality of the CLB timing unit to design a flip detection D flip-flop circuit. Then, the full-custom design method is used to complete the schematic and layout design of the circuit. Finally, the designed circuit was simulated using the TSMC 28nm CMOS process parameters in SPECTRE. The simulation results showed that the circuit has correct logical functionality and good transient characteristics. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed D flip-flop can achieve the basic function of the CLB timing unit. The layout area is approximately 3.36μm2, and the power-delay product is about 1.01fJ. The simulation results revealed that the output Q exhibited a glitch with a voltage of approximately 0.3V, which was successfully corrected to the correct logic value. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents a novel coaxial cavity filter using in 5G NR Base Stations. The resonant cylinder utilizes stepped impedance technology combined with folding edge bending and rectangular zigzag arm structure on the top to improve the electrical coupling mainline. Therefore, dimensions of cavity filter are reduced while maintaining the filter performance parameters. This proposed resonator is verified in the design of one filter integrated in C-Band 5G station with ten orders and four zero points. The dimensions of the filter are only 56.81 mm x 15.56 mm x 9.5 mm (length x width x height). The simulation results show the passband of 304MHz, the return loss of 15.6dB, the insertion loss of 0.1dB. These specifications are suitable for applying in Band C 5G network. © 2024 IEEE.

The persistent challenges faced by sun-tracking systems include inefficient power production, wastage of energy, ineffective control, and high costs. Most of the existing systems are either static or dual-axis tracking which lead to inefficient output or increasing energy wastage and cost overheads. Though, single-axis tracking system has some benefits over the static or dual-axis tracking, most of the systems do not analyze the selection of optimal sun-path which again leads to inefficient and inadequate absorption of sunlight. Addressing the issues, this article presents a design of optimal parameters for single-axis solar-tracking by analyzing the sun-path and tracking vector dynamics. The study mainly focuses on analyzing solar-tracking dynamics, variations in sunray angles, Azimuth and Elevation dynamics throughout the day for the twelve months, Sun-vector calculation for local coordinates, joint rotational-axis, and joint motion control using a Proportional-Derivative controller. Additionally, the article outlines a conceptual architecture for automated control, monitoring, and power distribution for the potential development of a sustainable smart city. The proposed strategy addresses the issues of the optimal design of a single-axis solar-tracker, thus ensuring the reduction of cost overhead and energy wastage. © 2024 IEEE.

Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are efficient tools for pattern recognition applications. They have found applications in wireless communication systems such as modulation classification from constellation diagrams. Unfortunately, noisy channels may render the constellation points deformed and scattered, which makes the classification a difficult task. This paper presents an efficient modulation classification algorithm based on CNNs. Constellation diagrams are generated for each modulation type and used for training and testing of the CNNs. The proposed work depends on the application of Radon Transform (RT) to generate more representative patterns for the constellation diagrams to be used for training and testing. The RT has a good ability to represent discrete points in the spatial domain as curved lines. Several pre-trained networks including AlexNet, VGG-16, and VGG-19 are used as classifiers for modulation type from the spatial-domain constellation diagrams or their RTs. Several simulation experiments are presented in this paper to compare different scenarios for modulation classification at different Signal-to-Noise Ratios (SNRs) and fading channel conditions. © 2022, The Author(s).

In this paper, we investigate a simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT)-enabled cell-free millimeter-wave multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system. Therein, multiple base stations (BSs) serve multiple users by using the SWIPT based on power-splitting (PS) protocol. To further improve the system throughput and harvested energy, multiple intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRSs) are deployed. We formulate an optimization problem that aims to optimize the beamformers of the BSs, phase shifts of the IRSs, and PS factors at users to maximize the minimum energy efficiency of the users. The max-min energy efficiency optimization problem is computationally intractable, and we propose an alternating descent algorithm to solve it with low computational complexity. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2023 IEEE.

With the development of high-speed rail technology, the electrical system of the rolling stock, as a core component, is crucial for its normal operation. Once the electrical system fails, it may lead to safety accidents and property losses. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the identification and judgment of the false connection of the electrical circuit of the moving train set. The low resistance of the circuit is measured by injecting high current and voltammetry to establish the correlation between the resistance value and the false connection, so as to realize the accurate identification of the false connection abnormality. Aiming at the characteristics of vehicle electrical circuits with many complex structures, the magnetic retention relay array is used to realize multi-channel matrix testing, which improves the efficiency of circuit resistance testing. At the same time, the data is transmitted to the system platform through wireless communication. In the end, the development of "electrical connection reliability testing device"with the functions of high-current low-resistance testing, grounding resistance testing, automatic circuit testing, etc., to provide reliability assurance for the electrical system of the rolling stock. © 2024 IEEE.

The recent advancements in vision technology have had a significant impact on our ability to identify multiple objects and understand complex *** technologies,such as augmented reality-driven scene integration,robotic navigation,autonomous driving,and guided tour systems,heavily rely on this type of scene *** paper presents a novel segmentation approach based on the UNet network model,aimed at recognizing multiple objects within an *** methodology begins with the acquisition and preprocessing of the image,followed by segmentation using the fine-tuned UNet ***,we use an annotation tool to accurately label the segmented *** labeling,significant features are extracted from these segmented objects,encompassing KAZE(Accelerated Segmentation and Extraction)features,energy-based edge detection,frequency-based,and blob *** the classification stage,a convolution neural network(CNN)is *** comprehensive methodology demonstrates a robust framework for achieving accurate and efficient recognition of multiple objects in *** experimental results,which include complex object datasets like MSRC-v2 and PASCAL-VOC12,have been *** analyzing the experimental results,it was found that the PASCAL-VOC12 dataset achieved an accuracy rate of 95%,while the MSRC-v2 dataset achieved an accuracy of 89%.The evaluation performed on these diverse datasets highlights a notably impressive level of performance.

Wilga 2022 Summer Symposium on Photonics Applications and Web engineering was the 50th edition of the research and technical meetings series. Traditionally, the whole week lasting annual series of technical conferences and topical sessions was split to one winter meeting in January and two summer events in May/June, and in September 2022. The hybrid meetings were held in Wilga resort near Warsaw, owned by the Warsaw University of technology and in Lublin. Nearly 100 participants took part in all of the Wilga 2022 events, most of them being young researchers active in all aspects of photonics, electronics and ICT science and technology. Wilga Symposium embraces hardware and software technologies associated with photonics like optics, optical engineering, optoelectronics, electronics and electrical engineering, mechatronics, chemical and material engineering, applied physics, industrial solutions and applications. Around 100 papers were presented during Wilga 2022, oral and poster. Out of this number, some papers chosen by authors are published in this volume of Proc. SPIE mostly related to photonics. The major change was that during Wilga 2020, 2021 and 2022 Symposia, during summer editions, no traditional large young researcher sessions at large were possible to be organized. © 2022 SPIE.
