The influence of chemical composition effects, modes of synthesis, pressing on the structural states and electrical qualities of lead telluride has been investigated. The analyses indicated that thermoelectric parameters of the investigated materials depend on technological factors. The results revealed that conductivity is n-type in stoichiometric composition equilibrium and lead-excess states, while conductivity is p-type in tellurium-excess states. The maximum value of the Seebeck coefficient, which characterizes the thermoelectric materials, was obtained at d = 0.8-1.0 mm for powder fractions and 0.75-1.0 GPa for pressed.

Outdoor machine vision is getting a concern nowadays. Ranging from surveillance and monitoring system to automotive system such as driver assistance system require vision application or artificial eye to keep monitoring the situations. However, most of these applications works very well during clear weather and degrade during bad weather due to the atmospheric particles mitigate the quality of vision system. This paper discuss the state of the art of image enhancement techniques used to adjust the contrast of an outdoor image degrade by fog, haze, and rain. A brief overview of bad weather will be discussed and several recent techniques on removing fog, haze and rain are discussed.

This paper presents Spanar Antenna designed using CST Microwave Studio Simulation 2011. The proposed antenna was designed to operate at 10 GHz, which suggested return loss, S11 must be less than -10 dB and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) must be less than 2. The best performance of simulation of Spanar Antenna was obtained at a small size of 24.8 mm × 8.0 mm with dimension board of FR4 substrate 31.7 mm × 18.5 mm. The thickness (h) and dielectric constant (εr) of substrate were 1.6 mm and 4.7. An analysis between simulation result and measurement result has been compared in order to see the antenna performance.

An adaptive compressed domain watermarking method is proposed in the paper. In this technique, multiple binary images derived from a single watermark image are first embedded in a video sequence. The spatial spread spectrum watermark is directly incorporated in the compressed bit streams by modifying the wavelet coefficients. Experimental evidence demonstrates that the developed approach is efficient and also robust against spatial attacks such as scaling and frame averaging, and temporal attacks like frame dropping and shifting.

In this paper we address exploration algorithm in flat experimental environment with colored objects for multi robots system. The aim of exploration in unknown environment is finding target points like mine detection in outdoor environment without any positioning device. Two algorithms were investigated in this paper one is frontier based random search algorithm and the second is efficient algorithm based on segmentation strategy. To improve efficiency, each robot had to go to different regions to avoid cumulating robots in one region. Constructed maps for all four regions could be shared and navigation could be done more effectively. For constructing map robot can use on built range finder sensor or using vision based systems. Also the algorithm using segmentation strategy is using frontier base algorithm for exploring divided area. Both algorithm implemented and analyzed in Player/Stage simulation. The result was compared and showed the efficiency of the designed algorithm based segmentation strategy. In simulation this algorithm is tested with different number of robots to achieve better view of efficiency for proposed algorithm in different type of environment like harsh environment as possibility of losing some robots.

Pneumatic systems are well known for their advantages, simplicity and can be applied in various industrial applications. This paper presents a comparative study of tuning methods on Proportional-Integral (PI) controller for position control performance both in simulation and in real system. A PI controller designed by optimization with the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed and its output is compared with the Ziegler-Nichols (Z-N) formula and manual (trial and error) results. Performance assessment of the tuned controllers was performed in MATLAB Simulink. It was observed that the controller designed using PSO gives better results and performance compared to the Z-N formula and manual tuning in simulation and real-time.
