Due to the complexity of the search space, the calculation of robot trajectories is a well suited field for evolutionary algorithms. Owing to the time-expensive calculation of the evolutionary algorithm and especially the collision-detection algorithm, the calculation of robot trajectories is mostly not in real time. Therefore, this paper presents an approach for shortening the calculation time by parallelising the whole algorithm. First, the problem to be solved is described. Here, the special coding of the robot trajectories is presented. Then the parallel algorithm and its realisation on a cluster is introduced. Finally, the performance comparisons are presented.

Grading of durian is an important preprocess in durian production line. This paper proposes an automatic ripeness grading of durian pulp by using color histograms and density. In this method, both color and density of durian pulp are utilized to classify the pulp ripeness. Since in case of ripe pulp, the color changes from white to yellow and density increase, we employ color obtained from video cameras. density from video cameras and weight measurement unit. In this paper, we extend the 1-D real valued discrete Gabor transform (RDGT), proposed in our previous work, to the 2-D case for image representation and discuss how to apply the discrete Hartley transform (DHT) to compute the 2-D RDGT coefficients of an image and to reconstruct the original image from the coefficients efficiently. Meanwhile, as in the 1-D case, the 2-D RDGT also bears a simple relationship with the complex valued discrete Gabor transform (CDGT) so that the 2-D CDGT coefficients can be directly obtained from the 2-D RDGT coefficients, Moreover, through experiments, we shall show that the 2-D RDGT coefficients have much more degree of information decorrelation than the 2-D CDGT coefficients because both the magnitudes and the phases of the complex coefficients need to be separately quantized.

As steam generator (SG) tubes have aged, new and subtle degradations have appeared. Most of them start growing from outside the tubes. Since outer diameter defects might not be detected by conventional eddy current testing due to skin effect phenomena, this paper studies the feasibility of using the remote field eddy current (RFEC) technique, which has shown equal sensitivity to inner diameter (ID) and outer diameter (OD) defects in ferromagnetic pipe inspection. Finite element modeling studies show that the operating frequency needs to be increased up to a few hundred kHz in order for RFEC effects to occur in the nonmagnetic SG tube. The proper distance between exciter and sensor coils is also found to be 1.5 OD, which is half of the distance used in ferromagnetic pipe inspection. The resulting defect signals show equal sensitivity to ID and OD defects. These results demonstrate superior capability of the proposed RFEC probe compared to the differential ECT probe in detecting OD defects.

This paper describes a methodology for designing analog systems starting from a top-level, behavioral model. The methodology has been incorporated within an analog synthesis system (ADSA), which is based upon the use of optimization at both behavioral and circuit levels. Initial design uses ideal models without interaction. Model refinement takes place to accommodate, first, signal offsets and levels, and then, the source and load impedances of the circuit blocks. Tremendous increase in the Internet traffic has resulted in electronic processing bottleneck for communication networks. We propose a technique to alleviate this bottleneck in ultra-dense wavelength division multiplexed networks. This involves transmission of control information on a separate and dedicated channel, called the control channel. The packets on the control channel contain information about the routing of data packets on various channels. Thus, only control channel packets need processing at higher layer(s), while packets on the data channels can stay in the optical domain from source to destination.
