The science and technology of X-ray optics have come far,enabling the focusing of X-rays for applications in highresolution X-ray spectroscopy,imaging,and *** spite of this,many forms of tailoring waves that had substantial impact on applications in the optical regime have remained out of reach in the X-ray *** disparity fundamentally arises from the tendency of refractive indices of all materials to approach unity at high frequencies,making X-ray-optical components such as lenses and mirrors much harder to create and often less ***,we propose a new concept for X-ray focusing based on inducing a curved wavefront into the X-ray generation process,resulting in the intrinsic focusing of X-ray *** concept can be seen as effectively integrating the optics to be part of the emission mechanism,thus bypassing the effciency limits imposed by X-ray optical components,enabling the creation of nanobeams with nanoscale focal spot sizes and micrometer-scale focal ***,we implement this concept by designing aperiodic vdw heterostructures that shape X-rays when driven by free *** parameters of the focused hotspot,such as lateral size and focal depth,are tunable as a function of an interlayer spacing chirp and electron *** forward,ongoing advances in the creation of many-layer vdw heterostructures open unprecedented horizons of focusing and arbitrary shaping of X-ray nanobeams.

Strong physical unsolvable function (PUF) has a wide range of applications in internet of things (IoT) security. However, it is vulnerable to machine learning (ML) modeling attacks. This paper proposes a strong PUF anti-ML attack method based on dynamic-matrix encryption. It obfuscates the challenge by multiplying the dynamic encryption matrix (DEM) with the challenge matrix synchronizing initial values during the registration phase of the device security authentication protocol prevents our obfuscation from being invalidated when the algorithms and structures motivating the obfuscation are made public. Each round of DEM is updated with respect to each previous round of challenge which is similar to the properties of sequential logic circuits in that the current response does not depend only on the current challenge but is related to previous challenge. Experimental results show that even if an attacker collects 1 million challenge response pairs, the prediction accuracies of the several ML attacks we use are below 53%, with negligible effects on randomness, reliability, and uniqueness. © 2024 IEEE.

User-centric data sharing is essential to encourage citizens'active participation in the digital *** key to smart cities,a form of the digital economy,is the promotion of public use of citizen ***,it is not easy to utilize data without citizens’*** this study,we took a technological approach to these *** access(UMA)is a well-known framework for delegating resource access rights to others on the *** UMA,authorization mechanisms are designed to be centralized so that resource owners can centrally manage access rights for various resources stored in different ***,the lack of transparency in the authorization mechanism is a barrier to its implementation in large-scale systems such as smart *** this study,we developed a blockchain-based cross-domain authorization architecture that enables a resource-sharing ecosystem in which organizations that wish to utilize data can freely trade with each *** proposed architecture solves the transparency problem that conventional authorization systems have had by designing the authorization mechanism on blockchain *** implemented the proposed architecture as smart contracts and evaluated its processing *** resultant time required for delegating access rights and accessing resources was less than 500 ***,we found that the fluctuation in the processing time overhead was *** on these results,we concluded that performance degradation with the proposed architecture is minor.

Recently, the internet has created a global community by connecting millions of individuals, devices, and organizations. Unfortunately, internet connectivity is still not available to many people around the world. To provide everyone with internet access, network infrastructures must be expanded, and internet connection costs must be reduced, particularly in developing regions. Therefore, Wireless Community Networks (WCNs) have emerged as a crucial alternative for individuals who lack direct access to internet services provided by traditional internet service providers. This research paper aims to investigate the routing protocols that have been widely employed in WCNs over the past decade. Specifically, it focuses on evaluating the strengths and limitations of these protocols to assess their effectiveness and reliability in establishing optimal routing paths for end-to-end message delivery across the network. A set of recommendations and future directions are proposed to facilitate further research into unresolved challenges related to WCN routing protocols. © (2024) International Association of Engineers. Osteosarcoma is one of the rare bone cancers that affect the individualsaged between 10 and 30 and it incurs high death rate. Early diagnosisof osteosarcoma is essential to improve the survivability rate and treatmentprotocols. Traditional physical examination procedure is not only a timeconsumingprocess, but it also primarily relies upon the expert’s *** this background, the recently developed Deep Learning (DL) models canbe applied to perform decision making. At the same time, hyperparameteroptimization of DL models also plays an important role in influencing overallclassification performance. The current study introduces a novel SymbioticOrganisms Search with Deep Learning-driven Osteosarcoma Detection andClassification (SOSDL-ODC) model. The presented SOSDL-ODC techniqueprimarily focuses on recognition and classification of osteosarcoma usinghistopathological images. In order to achieve this, the presented SOSDL-ODCtechnique initially applies image pre-processing approach to enhance the qualityof image. Also, MobileNetv2 model is applied to generate a suitable groupof feature vectors whereas hyperparameter tuning of MobileNetv2 modelis performed using SOS algorithm. At last, Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU)technique is applied as a classification model to determine proper class *** order to validate the enhanced osteosarcoma classification performance ofthe proposed SOSDL-ODC technique, a comprehensive comparative analysiswas conducted. The obtained outcomes confirmed the betterment of SOSDLODCapproach than the existing approaches as the former achieved a maximumaccuracy of 97.73%.

Optical Wireless Communication(OWC)is a new trend in communication systems to achieve large bandwidth,high bit rate,high security,fast deployment,and low *** basic idea of the OWC is to transmit data on unguided media with *** system requires multi-carrier modulation such as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM).This paper studies optical OFDM performance based on Intensity Modulation with Direct Detection(IM/DD)*** system requires a non-negativity *** paper presents a framework for wireless optical OFDM system that comprises(IM/DD)with different forms,Direct Current biased Optical OFDM(DCO-OFDM),Asymmetrically Clipped Optical OFDM(ACO-OFDM),Asymmetrically DC-biased Optical OFDM(ADO-OFDM),and *** also considers channel coding as a tool for error control,channel equalization for reducing deterioration due to channel effects,and investigation of the turbulence *** evaluation results of the proposed framework reveal enhancement of *** performance of the IM/DD-OFDM system is investigated over different channel models such as AWGN,log-normal turbulence channel model,and ceiling bounce channel *** simulation results show that the BER performance of the IM/DD-OFDM communication system is enhanced while the fading strength is *** results reveal also that Hamming codes,BCH codes,and convolutional codes achieve better BER ***,two algorithms of channel estimation and equalization are considered and *** algorithms include the Least Squares(LS)and the Minimum Mean Square Error(MMSE).The simulation results show that the MMSE algorithm gives better BER performance than the LS algorithm.

We present experimental measurements of the polarization state properties of nearly single-photon pulses propagating in micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) optical switches. The purpose of this research is to specify properties of four different photon polarization states (|H},|V}, :D}, |A}) propagated through a MEMS optical switch at three different very low average photon densities per pulse (μ=0.1,0.3,0.5). The measurement was made by directly analyzing the polarization states of nearly single-photon levels and detecting them using single-photon detectors. The polarization state of the output-port photons were estimated by fitting the detected photon number to the sinusoidal curve model. The results show that for all polarization states, the visibility fringes of the outputport photons were greater than 92%. The polarization states before and after the splitting process were also conserved. This measurement method and result are important for the specific application of switching weak coherent photons and single photons, such as in quantum communication. © 2022 IEEE.

Silver-coated whispering gallery mode resonator for bio-sensing applications

This letter presents a biosensor utilizing a whispering gallery mode resonator characterized by azimuthal symmetry and crescent-shaped coatings of silver. The study investigates the impact of the coupling gap on the extinction ratio and Q-factor of the setup. The resonator is coated with silver in crescent shapes， ranging from 40 to 65 nm thick. Coupling is achieved with a silica waveguide， simulating the tapered fiber coupling method. Notably， the resonator exhibits a maximum sensitivity of 220 nm/RIU when coated with 55 nm silver in conjunction with a four nm-thick layer of thiol-tethered DNA. This biosensor holds promise for biomolecule detection applications.
