Data-flow-oriented formal specification languages, such as SOFL, bridge formal methods to industrial applications, allowing software developers to effectively use formal methods in developing practical software systems. In this paper, we introduce an extension to SOFL specification language for specifying concurrent software systems. SOFL is designed by integrating different notations and techniques on the basis that they are all needed to work together effectively in a coherent manner for specification constructions and verifications. We mainly introduce two notions, region and channel, to the SOFL language so that concurrency can be specified both graphically and formally, thus making SOFL specifications both intuitive and precise.

The problem of reconstructing three-dimensional objects buried in layered media is addressed in this paper. A numerical approach which is based on an Estimation of Distribution Algorithm(EDA) is proposed. The reconstruction is obtained from the iterative inversion method that minimizes the cost function by using EDA, where the cost function is defined as the squared magnitude of the difference between the measured fields and the calculated fields from the assumed profile of the object. Numerical result shows these methods are capable of reconstructing an arbitrary 3D inhomogeneous object buried in a multilayered medium.

This paper applies the Radial Basis function (RBF) collocation method to compute the eddy current magnetic field coupled with conductor movement. Because of the linear characteristic of the RBF collocation matrix equation, the unknown magnetic vector potential could be easily decoupled and directly expressed in moving coordinate systems without model recast. This offers a great convenience to deal with the conductor movement. Time-domain iteration is constructed to solve the governing equations. And in each iteration step, the magnetic field and kinetic equations are calculated alternately. Two numerical examples, the TEAM workshop problem 28 and a transient coil gun problem are considered to analyze the accuracy and efficiency of this method.

This paper investigates the performance of a lead-acid battery in a grid connected wind energy generator system. Wind energy has gained much credit in the past two decades as a sustainable energy resource. The penetration of wind energy generators into the electric utility grids is expected to increase to about 1.5 TW within the present decade. Due to the intermittent nature of the wind, there have been serious concerns about reliability and operation of the utility power grids. Battery storage is suggested to compensate wind power fluctuations and smooth the power fed to the utility grids. The battery storage in such applications has dynamic operating conditions and is subjected to different ageing mechanisms which stimulate the capacity degradation and hence influence the feasibility of their implementation. This paper investigates the implementation of fuzzy agent modeling as a powerful technique to estimate the dynamic and sophisticated electrochemical battery degradation mechanisms. Accordingly, the real behavior, the feasibility of the battery and its effect on wind power fed to the utility grid can be judged. The investigated system is simulated using real measurement data of a 600 kW rated power wind turbine. The simulation results of different battery capacities show that the integration of the battery storage has compensated the fluctuations of the generated wind power and smoothed the power fed to the utility grid. Moreover, the fuzzy agent has generated very important information about the battery degradation and available capacity (in this case of about 85%) after one year of operation.

Automatic transformation of paper documents into electronic documents requires document segmentation at the first ***,some parameters restrictions such as variations in character font sizes,different text line spacing,and also not uniform document layout structures altogether have made it difficult to design a general-purpose document layout analysis algorithm for many *** in most previously reported methods it is inevitable to include these *** problem becomes excessively acute and severe,especially in Persian/Arabic *** the Persian/Arabic scripts differ considerably from the English scripts,most of the proposed methods for the English scripts do not render good results for the Persian *** this paper,we present a novel parameter-free method for segmenting the Persian/Arabic document images which also works well for English *** method segments the document image into maximal homogeneous regions and identifies them as texts and non-texts based on a pyramidal image *** other words the proposed method is capable of document segmentation without considering the character font sizes,text line spacing,and document layout *** algorithm is examined for 150 Arabic/Persian and English documents and document segmentation process are done successfully for 96 percent of documents.

Polishing is a highly skilled manufacturing process with a lot of constraint and interaction with environment. Unfortunately, manual polishing process takes time consuming of the total manufacturing time and takes a significant cost. On top of that, undesired working condition exists due to dust and noise and next it is quite difficult to find skilled technicians. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an automation system on the polishing process. One of the automation systems that are often developed by the industry is the use of robots. The goal is to handle the repetitive work that humans are not able to do so. In general, the purpose of polishing is to get the uniform surface roughness distributed evenly throughout part's surface. This research combines computer vision and robotics systems to overcome the problems arising in the polishing process. Vision system is used to measure surface defect that divide into several categories. The surface data is learned using artificial neural networks then give the decisions to move the actuator on robot. Parameters that developed in this system are force and time polishing which has a significant effect on the polishing process. Therefore, this system studies the characteristics of surface defects before the given action with different value of force and polishing time, and then compared with surface defects after given the action. Results obtained show that it is possible to obtain surface parameters using vision-based methods with a certain limit of accuracy. However, there are some advantages using this system, including faster polishing time, simpler quality inspection, and more evenly surface roughness result compared with manual polishing. The overall results of this research would encourage further developments to achieve robust computer vision technique for robotic polishing application.

The paper presents the analysis of the subject-specificity of the radio channel in wireless body area networks using a simulation tool based on the parallel finite-difference time-domain technique. This technique is well suited to model the radio propagation around irregularly shaped, inhomogeneous objects such as the human body. The impact of different digital phantoms on the on-body radio channel was analysed at 2.4 GHz. The analysis demonstrated that the characteristics of the on-body radio channel are subject-specific and are associated with human genders, height, and body mass index.

Social experiment is explained about introduction of the security camera system with privacy protection into residential area in this paper. In July 2008, this experiment by using the security camera system with privacy protection had been started into a residential area: Tsunatori-cho, Isesaki. In this experiment, the security camera system doesn’t monitor only a premise of house but also watches the road which is public space in front of the house. This system is introduced into one of several houses of residential area, there is to keep the life in the whole region. However, monitoring of public space has the risk of privacy violation. So the privacy protection function was added to prevent this risk. Because images are encrypted and saved by this function, nobody watch them without a password for decoding. Consequently, the privacy is protected because only a person owning a password can watch. Detail of social experiment using this system in residential area is explained.

Ultra wide-band (UWB) is an appealing technology for wireless body area networks (WBANs). The paper presents the numerical analysis of the subject-specificity of the radio channel in UWB-WBANs adopting the finite difference time domain technique. The analysis has been performed in the frequency range 3-10 GHz considering nine homogeneous digital phantoms of different size and gender. A two-pole Debye model was used to model the frequency dispersion of the human body muscle tissues, and the results demonstrate that the received power in on-body links is subject-specific and associated with the body mass index of the subject.

This paper reviews our security camera system with privacy protection. Invasion of privacy is the most serious problem of security cameras. So, we have developed the software named Dairi EYE Lock to solve the problem. Images taken by a security camera were encrypted and view the images. This decrypting software is managed by the authority, such as a local government or the police. Thus, the agreement of both owner of the security camera and the authority is essential to view this image.
