This paper investigates the system performance of an intelligent reflecting surface-assisted mobile edge computing (MEC) network under Nakagami-m fading channel with an uplink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scenarios. The considered system consists of an access point (AP), two NOMA users, i.e., a cell-center user and a cell-edge user, and a two-dimensional passive element array of the intelligent reflecting surface (IRS). Specifically, we consider the IRS to act as a relay to help cell-edge users offload tasks to the AP. We derive closed-form expressions of the successful computation probability (SCP) to evaluate the system performance. Furthermore, we analyze the ceiling SCP when the system operates in the high-SNR regime to clarify the system further. Finally, we investigate the impact of critical system parameters on the behavior of this considered system to look insight into the performance. Satellite high aerial platform terrestrial integrated networks have become the hot topic these years, which have been regarded as the major part of the intelligence of things for future networks. During this work, we investigate the secrecy performance for rate-splitting multiple access-assisted satellite high aerial platform terrestrial integrated networks. Besides, imperfect hardware and channel estimation errors are considered in the secrecy networks. Moreover, to enhance the energy utilization efficiency, rate-splitting multiple access scheme is utilized into the considered network, which is prior to that of the non-orthogonal multiple access scheme. What's more, to enhance the satellite transmission, multiple high aerial platforms are used to forward the transmission along with multiple eavesdroppers. In addition, the direct transmission link is not considered in the secrecy networks due to the heavy fading and obstacles. Relied on the former considerations, the exact and asymptotic analysis for the secrecy performance is further obtained to confirm the rightness of the analysis. Recently, with the wide distribution of digital media, the need for authenticating digital images was increased. Therefore, many image tamper detection and recovery algorithms were introduced in literature to detect malicious modifications and retrieve the original images. The process of detection and recovery, however, used to have complex operation which requires long processing time. In this paper, a simplified image recovery algorithm is presented by using lifting wavelet transform. In the proposed method, the approximation band is hidden inside the bits of the original image and to be retrieved without relying on source image. For images with hidden data, the average PSNR and SSIM values were 31.22 and 0.977 respectively, and images were successfully retrieved after block attack. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper proposes a microstrip diplexer network that covers the frequency bands of 0.6-0.96 GHz, 1.7-2.7 GHz, 3.3-4 GHz and 4.9-6 GHz. The diplexer is composed of the multiple matching branch and the filtering branch. Its insertion loss at lower- and middle frequencies is less than 1.5 dB, and that at upper frequency is under 2.5 dB. The diplexer achieves broadband and steep-edge filtering performances. Therefore, it can be well applied in 5G indoor distribution systems. © 2023 IEEE.

In an era when healthcare was becoming increasingly crucial, many developing nations, including Yemen, struggled to provide basic medical services. Nearly half of Yemen's population lacked access to adequate healthcare, with the situation being even more dire in rural and remote areas. While sectors such as industry, agriculture, and environmental science rapidly embraced technological advancements, healthcare systems in these regions lagged, with limited research addressing affordable and accessible solutions. This gap was further highlighted by the global healthcare crisis and the urgent need for innovative, cost-effective approaches. In response, this study outlined the creation and deployment of a cost-effective health monitoring system utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology to address these challenges. The system was designed to monitor vital signs, specifically heart rate (HR), using an Arduino Uno and ECG sensor, at a meager total cost of $27.25. It provided real-time monitoring for situations requiring immediate intervention. Power consumption tests demonstrated that the system operated efficiently, consuming between 1.061 and 1.35 watts, making it practical and affordable. Additionally, the potential integration of deep learning techniques promises to enhance the system's accuracy and efficiency. Although this study focused on IoT-based health monitoring, its potential extended beyond this, offering broader implications for future healthcare technology solutions.

A polarization-insensitive mode-order converting power splitter using a pixelated region is presented and investigated in this *** TE_(0)and TM_(0)modes are injected into the input port,they are converted into TE_(1)and TM_(1)modes,which evenly come out from the two output *** finite-difference time-domain method and direct-binary-search optimization algorithm are utilized to optimize structural parameters of the pixelated region to attain small insertion loss,low crosstalk,wide bandwidth,excellent power uniformity,polarization-insensitive property,and compact *** results reveal that the insertion loss,crosstalk,and power uniformity of the fabricated device at 1550 nm are 0.57,-19.67,and 0.094 d B in the case of TE polarization,while in the TM polarization,the relevant insertion loss,crosstalk,and power uniformity are 0.57,-19.40,and 0.11 d *** a wavelength range from 1520 to 1600 nm,for the fabricated device working at TE polarization,the insertion loss,crosstalk,and power uniformity are lower than 1.39,-17.64,and 0.14 *** the case of TM polarization,we achieved an insertion loss,crosstalk,and power uniformity less than 1.23,-17.62,and 0.14 dB.

Nowadays, the grid computing environment faces many difficulties executing new jobs, especially jobs requiring large resource requirements and long execution times. This motivates researchers and scholars to find cheap and fast methods to improve the efficiency of grid environments. One of the cheap and fast methods is to implement job scheduling algorithms based on cheap and fast techniques. This paper proposes a new job ranking backfilling algorithm based on the job's weight and back propagation neural network. To define the weight of the job, first, the proposed model will use a clustering algorithm to cluster the job's dataset into groups, and then the groups will be ranked using an experimental ranking equation. A discrete event simulator is used to validate the proposed algorithm's capability and robustness. The average results revealed that the new algorithm outperforms previous algorithms. The improvement of the studied metrics is between 1.19 and 6.30, respectively. The results proved that the proposed model is efficient and can be used with low overhead in a real environment.

The government of Bangladesh has implemented the “Stay Home” policy following the WHO recommendation to resist the community transmission of Covid-19. As a result, the routine activities of all government, semi-government establishments, including educational institutions, are severely affected, and the country's economic growth becomes slowed down. To overcome such a situation, the relevant authorities have introduced the “Work from Home” policy for the employees and “Remote Education” for students. However, due to the persistence of multi-dimensional socio-economic problems, many employees and students face big challenges in performing their regular jobs while adopting such a policy. Consequently, enormous psychological anxiety has been developed for all people, including students, parents, employees, etc., and concurrently created severe changes in their behavior. This study aims to analyze the reasons for the behavioral changes of the employees, students, academic staff, and family members of different ages due to psychological anxiety, stress, or physical issues. A comprehensive online-based survey has been carried out on people working in various sectors in Bangladesh. A modified Apriori Algorithm has been used to sort out the associations between the causes and types of behavioral changes. Analyzed data revealed a massive human behavioral change in most participants. This finding indicates that the negligence of those significant human behavioral changes may cause a higher risk of creating psychological imbalance. Therefore, there is a need to have a solid understanding of the reasons for the behavioral changes and set up standard guidelines to maintain “Work from Home” in this Covid-19 situation to avoid psychological imbalance. Based on this study, some suggestions have been given for implementation by the government on an urgent basis. © 2023
