The k-Medoids clustering algorithm is one of the commonly used clustering methods, but it does not consider the weight of each attribute which lead to different impacts on clustering results. Granular computing characterizes given knowledge from different perspectives while considering the granularity and completeness of the given knowledge, thus determining which feature has the greatest impact on the results in clustering problems, which helps to focus on important features. Therefore, this paper proposes an effective Intelligent k-Medoids Clustering Scheme based on granularity rough entropy for social networks (IKCS). Specifically, the granularity rough entropy is firstly defined based on indistinguishable relationships and roughness. Secondly, attribute weight coefficients are introduced to define the similarity function between samples. Finally, the samples are clustered based on the similarity function mentioned above, and the original cluster centers are initialized through k remote cluster centers. The experimental results on the artificial and UCI datasets effectively prove the validity of the proposed IKCS. As a result, it achieves the average Accuracy of Clustering 5.36% higher than the PAM and 4.16% higher than the fast k-Medoids. Moreover, it exhibits excellence in both the clustering Sum of Squared Errors and Adjusted Rand Index. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In today's world, autonomous automation is inspiring researchers, and growing human needs are driving students and scientists to build new automation devices. This paper will help you understand the changing trends in self-driving car technology. Advances and upgrades in technology have improved their performance and usage. The most important requirement for an automated device or vehicle is the Communication between them. In addition, the Government of India attaches great importance to military progress. In this regard, this paper focuses on a perfect connection system between remote controlled bots, as long as the connection is not an obstacle. To achieve this goal, the relay device (with Raspberry Pi) is configured as a repeater of the connection network that connects the remote control to the vehicle (bot). In this project, the Wi-Fi adapter will act as a beacon or extender to extend the connectivity and range of remote vehicles. This connection allows the bot to easily capture live feeds and send data for face recognition on the receiving side. This project leverages advanced research on network configurations and intercommunication schemes for IoT devices. The range of remote connections is Extended by the relay chain method. This further improves the connection with the bot through subsequent relay bots, making data transmissions untraceable and encrypted. By using existing algorithms, obstacles and Suspicious activity can be easily detected and sent to military bases. © 2022 IEEE.

Optimally Combined Incentive for Cooperation Among Interacting Agents in Population Games

Combined prosocial incentives, integrating reward for cooperators and punishment for defectors, are effective tools to promote cooperation among competing agents in population games. Existing research concentrated on how to adjust reward or punishment, as two mutually exclusive tools, during the evolutionary process to achieve the desired proportion of cooperators in the population, and less attention has been given to exploring a combined incentive-based control policy that can steer the system to the full cooperation state at the lowest cost. In this work we propose a combined incentive scheme in a population of agents whose conflicting interactions are described by the prisoner's dilemma game on complete graphs and regular networks, respectively. By devising an index function for quantifying the implementation costs of the combined incentives, we analytically construct the optimally combined incentive protocol by using optimal control theory. By means of theoretical analysis, we identify the mathematical conditions, under which the optimally combined incentive scheme requires the minimal amount of cost. In addition to numerical calculations, we further perform computer simulations to verify our theoretical results and explore their robustness on different types of network structures. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Oscillations in neuronal activity play a crucial role in neural processing. Electroencephalogram (EEG) records the amplitudes of oscillations at different frequencies. The robust interindividual variation and the high intraindividual stability of EEG oscillations can be explained by genetic variants. However, our knowledge of how genetic variants affect EEG endophenotypes is still limited. In this paper, we aim to identify the linkage between genes and EEG oscillations at different frequencies. We integrate the summary-level datasets from the genome-wide association studies (GWASs) of seven EEG endophenotypes and expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) study of the human brain, to explore the genetic mechanisms underlying EEG using summary-data-based two-sample Mendelian randomization. As a result, twelve candidate causal genes are prioritized across four EEG endophenotypes. These genes offer opportunities for a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms whereby genomic variation leads to variable brain activities. © 2022 IEEE.

To satisfy the explosive growing traffic demands for high-speed service, visible light communication (VLC) has become a promising technology these years. This paper presents a novel intelligent reflective surface (IRS)-aided VLC network system, which takes into account the existence of both information users (IUs) for receiving data information and energy harvesting users (EHUs) for capturing light energy. We determine the IRS association, power allocation, as well as direct current (DC) offset distribution to maximize the sum rate at the IUs, subject to the energy constraints at EHUs. As a solution to such a complex non-convex optimization problem, we propose a two-stage alternating optimization algorithm by decomposing it into two subproblems, with each subproblem being solved iteratively. We solve the subproblem of IRS association with a heuristic method and tackle another subproblem of power allocation and DC offset distribution with a successive convex approximation (SCA)-based algorithm. Based on our numerical results, we conclude that the proposed algorithm is convergent, and a significant improvement in sum rate can be achieved by joint resource management while meeting certain requirement of harvesting energy. Moreover, IRS can reduce the sensitivity to obstacles and improve sum rate performance in VLC.

Van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures have attracted much attention due to their distinctive optical, electrical, and thermal properties, demonstrating promising potential in areas such as photocatalysis, ultrafast photonics, and free electron radiation devices. Particularly, they are promising platforms for studying thermionic emission. Here, we illustrate that using vdW heterostructure-based thermionic emission can enhance heat transfer in vacuum devices. As a proof of concept, we demonstrate that this approach offers a promising solution to the long-standing overheating issue in X-ray tubes. Specifically, we show that the saturated target temperature of a 2000 W X-ray tube can be reduced from around 1200℃ to 490℃. Additionally, our study demonstrates that by reducing the height of the Schottky barrier formed in the vdW heterostructures, the thermionic cooling performance can be enhanced. Our findings pave the way for the development of high-power X-ray tubes. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

Sorting and searching are critical processes for effecttive data analysis. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of various sorting and searching algorithms and compare their time and space complexities on both sorted and unsorted data. The algorithms we analyzed include six common sorting algorithms (insertion, radix, bucket, merge, bubble, and quick sort) and three search algorithms (linear, binary, and jump search). The results of our study provide insights into the best algorithms to use for different input sizes and types of data. It was found that for small input sizes, all algorithms perform similarly, but for larger input sizes, insertion and radix sorts are better for time complexity while bubble sort is better for space complexity. Additionally, jump search outperformed linear and binary search algorithms in both time and space complexity. Besides, difference between time and space complexity of sorted and unsorted data was significant.

Physical layer security (PLS), bolstered by multi-antenna beamforming, plays a vital role in securing information exchange. The evolution towards sixth-generation (6G) ultra-high speed communications has introduced distinctive challenges in ensuring secure transmissions, primarily due to the beamsplit effect caused by wideband transmission and the costly fabrication of a fully digital massive antenna array. Although previous studies have employed analog beamforming to achieve cost-effective secure transmission, their designs were limited to narrowband transmission. Against this backdrop, this paper proposes analog beamforming to enhance wideband PLS in the presence of beamsplit. Specifically, an alternating optimization framework is developed to efficiently design power allocation and the analog beamformer, maximizing the secrecy rate. Furthermore, we apply this framework to enable another fully-digital solution-facilitated analog beamforming design, which is achieved in two stages. Numerical results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed analog beamforming strategies in enhancing the secrecy rate of wideband transmission in a low-cost manner.

An AUV-TTN Scheme Applied to AUV Trajectory Tracking Under Noise Disturbance

In marine engineering, autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), combining self-navigating, decision-making, and operational skills, is crucial for oceanic missions. And trajectory tracking is a key metric for assessing AUV performance and has received considerable focus. However, existing AUV trajectory tracking methods exhibit limitations in control accuracy, and demands substantial computational resources and time, thereby constraining their real-time applicability in dynamic environments. To tackle these challenges, this paper simplifies the AUV trajectory tracking problem into an inequality and equality constrained dynamic quadratic programming (IE-DQP) problem and introduces the zeroing neural network (ZNN) model to address it. Additionally, to reduce underwater noise disturbances, we propose the projection and elliptical ZNN (PEZNN) model, utilizing the Frobenius norm, and develop two projection functions that align with the physical constraints of AUVs. Collectively, we present the aforementioned approach as the AUV-TNN scheme. To assess its performance, we conduct rigorous mathematical derivations to demonstrate the convergence and robustness of the proposed scheme. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed approach is confirmed through three comprehensive simulated AUV trajectory tracking experiments. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

This paper presents a robust multi-stage security solution based on fusion,encryption,and watermarking processes to transmit color healthcare images,*** presented solution depends on the features of discrete cosine transform(DCT),lifting wavelet transform(LWT),and singular value decomposition(SVD).The primary objective of this proposed solution is to ensure robustness for the color medical watermarked images against transmission *** watermark embedding,the host color medical image is transformed into four sub-bands by employing three stages of *** resulting low-frequency sub-band is then transformed by employing three stages of DCT followed by SVD ***,a fusion process is used for combining different watermarks into a single watermark *** single fused image is then ciphered using Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid(DNA)encryption to strengthen the ***,the DNA-ciphered fused watermark is embedded in the host medical image by applying the suggested watermarking technique to obtain the watermarked *** main contribution of this work is embedding multiple watermarks to prevent identity *** the presence of different multimedia attacks,several simulation tests on different colormedical images have been *** results prove that the proposed security solution achieves a decent imperceptibility quality with high Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR)values and high correlation between the extracted and original watermark ***,the watermark image extraction process succeeds in achieving high efficiency in the presence of attacks compared with related works.
