The output characteristics of any solar modules or solar cells are typically assessed according to the standard requirements known as Standard Test Conditions (STC). To meet the STC requirement before commercializing products, manufacturers must subject every fabricated solar cell or module to various tests. These tests include conducting current-voltage characteristics under specific conditions: a solar irradiance of 1000 W/m2, a cell temperature of 25°C, and an air mass (AM) of 1.5. This study investigates this STC requirements for developing an alternative measurement platform for photovoltaic cells, specifically focusing on current-voltage characterization of solar cells. Utilizing calibrated photovoltaic cells, the optimal angles for Air Mass 1.0 and 1.5 was identified to be 48.2° and 41.8° respectively. Main methodology was segregated in three stages: first, correlating solar irradiance and illuminance under different light conditions, both outdoor and indoor;second, designing a system with a cooling device to stabilize cell temperature at 25°C;and third, developing a platform to meet AM 1.0 and 1.5 requirements. Results demonstrated varying irradiance outputs for sunlight, halogen lamps, and LED Grow Lights, with the latter achieving 810.2 W/m2 under AM 1.5. The study also established optimal voltage and current settings for temperature stabilization, achieving 25°C in 3 minutes. Although the proposed solar simulator design did not reach the targeted 1000 W/m2, it offers a feasible low-cost alternative for small-scale applications. The research underscores the technical viability of developing cost-effective solar simulators that meet STC requirements, despite challenges in achieving high irradiance levels with LEDs. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. In this paper we present two types of server implementation, we will look at the advantages and disadvantages of each technology. *** server application, built with ***, a single threaded server which will treat the requests in an asynchronous manner, with a non-blocking principle, whilst Spring Boot is a more robust and more common approach of a server technology with the benefits of having a strongly typed architecture and multiple threads available. These types of application will behave the same, making almost impossible to tell the difference between a *** and a Spring Boot web server. © 2023 IEEE.

This study focuses on developing an automated image classification method to identify mature coconuts, a critical phase in coconut harvesting. By emulating the technique of expert coconut pickers who assess color and texture, our goal is to revolutionize the industry, enhancing efficiency, reducing labor costs, and mitigating environmental impact. The preliminary model developed using Teachable Machine an established image classification software tool showed highly promising results in the identification of mature coconuts. © 2024 IEEE.

This article presents a simple, high-gain, E-shaped antenna suitable for 5G applications in the unlicensed 60 GHz band, characterized by high absorption and path losses. In order to optimize the reflection coefficient performance, enhance the gain, and adjust the resonance frequency of the proposed antenna, two identical slits are incorporated into the front edge of the radiating patch. The proposed structure is built on a Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 dielectric substrate, characterized by a thickness of 0.118 mm, a dielectric constant of 2.2, and a tangent loss of 0.0009. The proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has introduced significant security challenges due to the increased attack surface and the inherent vulnerabilities of interconnected systems. This paper proposes a novel security framework that integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI)-infused software and Virtual Replica Models, or Digital Twins, to enhance the robustness of IoT systems. The framework leverages AI-driven anomaly detection and predictive analysis to identify potential threats in real-time, while Digital Twins provide a virtual replica of the IoT ecosystem for continuous monitoring and simulation-based threat assessment. By fusing these technologies, the proposed solution enables proactive security measures, ensuring rapid response to cyberattacks and continuous system optimization. Extensive simulations and experimental results demonstrate the system’s ability to reduce attack detection times by 30%, while improving overall system resilience and minimizing false positive rates. This approach provides a scalable and adaptable solution for securing IoT infrastructures in various industries. © 2024 IEEE.

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) has emerged as a promising technology for next-generation wireless communications due to its ability to manipulate electromagnetic (EM) waves. This work introduces a novel RIS direct modulation scheme based on the backscatter communication concept. In this work, the RIS acts as a sole information modulator. Unlike conventional RIS systems that relay incoming datacarrying waves, this work enables RIS to encode its own information into unmodulated waves without requiring any hardware modifications. We propose an adaptive algorithm that maximizes modulation order while meeting the quality of service (QoS) requirements by selecting appropriate constellation points to minimize error probability. The proposed scheme was validated through simulations and experiments using a passive 5.8 GHz RIS prototype. The validations demonstrate consistent performance in both distributed and co-located transmitter- receiver scenarios. These results highlight its feasibility as an alternative approach for RIS-assisted communications and contribute to further exploration of RIS-enabled symbiotic radio (SR) and over-the-air (OTA) modulation systems. © 2014 IEEE.

This paper presents research on methods for implementation of NFC technology into ESP32 based IoT systems. Two main methods are proposed, first with the commercial modules that incorporate built-in antenna and module that is universal transceiver and decoder, and second method, where all of the integral parts of the system are designed separately. Methods are analyzed and compared in terms of feasibility, speed, resources and cost, using specially developed tests. Tests consist of multiple writing and reading tasks from the NFC tag, ESP32 and the smartphone. Tests also examine the compatibility with the ESP32 for IoT applications and with NFC enabled smartphones. Results point out that first implementation method offers higher performance rate in terms of the most of criteria, while the second method gives broader versatility and wider compatibility range. © 2023 IEEE.
