The research investigates how machine learning algorithms and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies might be combined to solve the crucial problem of separating fresh fruits from damaged apple fruits. Using Internet of Things (IoT) devices with sensors, the system collects extensive data on important characteristics, such as real-time apple picture analysis and available apple database. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and YOLO are two examples of sophisticated machine learning models that are used with this data to accurately classify the apples into different groups according to their quality. This initiative fosters enhanced efficiency, production, and profitability in the agricultural supply chain while providing a sustainable solution to the problems connected with fruit sorting. It represents a synergistic convergence of IoT, machine learning, and agriculture. © 2024 IEEE.

Automatic Semantic Segmentation and Classification of Remote Sensing Image Data for Flood Detection Using Novel LSTM Neural Network

Floods are one of the main threats to human life and the property of natural disasters, especially in highly populated urban areas. Fast and accurate extraction of submerged area risky to supporting emergency planning and providing damage assessment in spatial and temporal measurements. Satellite multispectral images have limited bands, low resolution, and information that can be analyzed. The bands are merged to form a unified image that incorporates data from all bands. However, current contouring techniques are affected by chromatic aberrations. This study uses intensity-hue-saturation and higher-order statistics to enhance the spatial and spectral information of remote sensing images in combination with segmentation and classification methods. High performance can be shown by implementing edge detection technology to identify objects using structure in Remote Sensing Images (RSI). The parameters used to evaluate the implementation of the proposed edge detection method included root mean square error, correlation coefficient, structural similarity index measure, and the error associated with the mean spectral analysis. The dimensionality of multiband RSI can be reduced based on higher-order data statistics using independent component analysis. Furthermore, images can be clustered using high-resolution panchromatic RSI models. The proposed technique can convert the pixel powers into the sign powers of adjacent higher-order partitions during region segmentation. Pixel intensities can be analyzed using preprocessing techniques such as denoising, which gradually stabilizes the object’s mean value. This method is shown not to impact the original seed level. Investigation of DNA discontinuity for detecting tuberculosis

Discontinuity in long Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) sequences creates harmful diseases. Changes in the DNA structure refers to changes in the human immunity system. Tuberculosis is a critical disease that causes coughing, fatigue, unintentional weight loss and fever on aged people due to the disorder in the DNA. Breaks or mutations over long DNA sequences are the pivotal reasons for this fatal disease. This study developed an automated machine learning technique to assess the total number of such breaks in the long DNA sequences. Data cleansing and deep neural network techniques are applied to handle this big data. The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database has been used to extract the amino acid sequences for Tuberculosis disease from the big DNA datasets. Results reveal that the proposed automated approach is significantly effective for the determination of DNA sequence breaks for the tuberculosis diseases due to the high sensitivity of Markov chain as well as the effective normalization techniques. This approach fixed the size of the training datasets and recursively divide the whole dataset into certain length. The study also adopts multiple predictions approaches, such as the hidden Markov chain, Box-Cox transformation and linear transformation to forecast about the breaks for any long positions of the training and testing datasets. The results demonstrated that hidden the Markov chain model provided faster analysis with more accurate and reliable results. © Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2018.

Improved channel estimation for underwater wireless optical communication OFDM systems by combining deep learning and machine learning models

Recent studies on channel estimation in wireless communication systems have focused on deep learning methods. Our primary contribution is based on the use of DenseNet121 hybrid with Random Forest (RF), Gated Recurrent Units (GRU), Long Short-Term Memory Networks (LSTM), and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) to improve the channel estimation and lower the error rate. In order to mitigate inter-symbol interference and map the datasets, this paper introduces M-quadrature amplitude modulation (16-QAM) and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), which is based on quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK). Additionally, the existence or lack of cyclic prefixes forms the basis of our simulation. Additionally, the suggested models are investigated using pilot samples 2, 4, 8, and 64. Labeled OFDM signal samples, where the labels match the signal received after applying OFDM and passing through the medium, are used to train the proposed models. The DenseNet121 functions as a powerful feature extractor to extract intricate spatial information from received signal data. Sequential models like as RNN, LSTM, and GRU are used to model temporal dependencies in the retrieved features. RF is also utilized to exploit non-linear relationships and interactions between features to further increase prediction accuracy and reduce bit error rate (BER). By comparing the models using key metrics like accuracy, bit error rate (BER), and mean squared error (MSE), superior performance is attained based on the DenseNet121_RNN_GRU_RF model. Additionally, the DLMs are assessed against traditional methods like minimal mean square error (MMSE) and least squares (LS). Using the DenseNet121_RNN_GRU_RF model indicates a considerable gain over alternative architectures, with an improvement of 36.3% over DensNet121-RNN-LSTM-RF, according to a comparison of the suggested models without cyclic prefix for OFDM_QPSK. In recent years, Digital Twin (DT) has gained significant interestfrom academia and industry due to the advanced in information technology,communication systems, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing (CC),and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The main concept of the DT isto provide a comprehensive tangible, and operational explanation of anyelement, asset, or system. However, it is an extremely dynamic taxonomydeveloping in complexity during the life cycle that produces a massive amountof engendered data and information. Likewise, with the development of AI,digital twins can be redefined and could be a crucial approach to aid theInternet of Things (IoT)-based DT applications for transferring the data andvalue onto the Internet with better decision-making. Therefore, this paperintroduces an efficient DT-based fault diagnosis model based on machinelearning (ML) tools. In this framework, the DT model of the machine isconstructed by creating the simulation model. In the proposed framework,the Genetic algorithm (GA) is used for the optimization task to improvethe classification accuracy. Furthermore, we evaluate the proposed faultdiagnosis framework using performance metrics such as precision, accuracy,F-measure, and recall. The proposed framework is comprehensively examinedusing the triplex pump fault diagnosis. The experimental results demonstratedthat the hybrid GA-ML method gives outstanding results compared to MLmethods like LogisticRegression (LR), Na飗e Bayes (NB), and SupportVectorMachine (SVM). The suggested framework achieves the highest accuracyof 95% for the employed hybrid GA-SVM. The proposed framework willeffectively help industrial operators make an appropriate decision concerningthe fault analysis for IIoT applications in the context of Industry 4.0.

Educational institutions face inherent uncertainties in student performance, stakeholder priorities, and data analysis. This paper explores how cloud computing, with its data storage, analytics, and collaboration tools, can address these uncertainties in educational administration. We propose a neutrosophic framework utilizing "truth," "falsity," and "indeterminacy" values to represent these complexities within educational data. Real-world case studies analyze how cloud computing can reduce uncertainties and improve decision-making. Our findings reveal that cloud computing offers significant potential for navigating the "fog" of educational administration, but its effectiveness is enhanced by considering the "indeterminacy" inherent in educational data through the neutrosophic framework. This research contributes a unique neutrosophic perspective to the use of cloud computing for improved and more informed decision-making in educational administration. © 2025, University of New Mexico.
