The neuron doctrine defines the neuron as the basic unit of the nervous system, which drives the dynamic behavior of our organs. This has led to neurons becoming the focus of modern neuroscience research and to the rise of neurocomputing, in which we try to digitally simulate human behavior. The goal being to better understand the human nervous system and gain more control over neuron-related diseases, helping doctors establish faster and more reliable medical diagnoses. In this context, we aim to simulate eye diseases and vision problems by convolving input images using a new class of neural networks based on a variable structure model of neurons presented in [1]. In this work, we focus on recreating the common convolution filters as a first step. This is the first time in neurocomputing literature that dendritic neurons have been used for dynamic convolution kernels generation and eye diseases simulation. We start with a presentation of our upgrades to the model’s flexibility and accuracy. Then, we propose a novel kernel generator algorithm to convolve the input images. Finally, we show its promising results in creating the outline, pixelization, and night convolution kernels, as well as control some metrics, including brightness and data retention. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

The phenomenon of atmospheric haze arises due to the scattering of light by minute particles suspended in the atmosphere. This optical effect gives rise to visual degradation in images and videos. The degradation is primarily influenced by two key factors: atmospheric attenuation and scattered light. Scattered light causes an image to be veiled in a whitish veil, while attenuation diminishes the image inherent contrast. Efforts to enhance image and video quality necessitate the development of dehazing techniques capable of mitigating the adverse impact of haze. This scholarly endeavor presents a comprehensive survey of recent advancements in the domain of dehazing techniques, encompassing both conventional methodologies and those founded on machine learning principles. Traditional dehazing techniques leverage a haze model to deduce a dehazed rendition of an image or frame. In contrast, learning-based techniques employ sophisticated mechanisms such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and different deep Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to create models that can discern dehazed representations by learning intricate parameters like transmission maps, atmospheric light conditions, or their combined effects. Furthermore, some learning-based approaches facilitate the direct generation of dehazed outputs from hazy inputs by assimilating the non-linear mapping between the two. This review study delves into a comprehensive examination of datasets utilized within learning-based dehazing methodologies, elucidating their characteristics and relevance. Furthermore, a systematic exposition of the merits and demerits inherent in distinct dehazing techniques is presented. The discourse culminates in the synthesis of the primary quandaries and challenges confronted by prevailing dehazing techniques. The assessment of dehazed image and frame quality is facilitated through the application of rigorous evaluation metrics, a discussion of which is incorporated. To provide empiri

Floods are one of the main threats to human life and the property of natural disasters, especially in highly populated urban areas. Fast and accurate extraction of submerged area risky to supporting emergency planning and providing damage assessment in spatial and temporal measurements. Satellite multispectral images have limited bands, low resolution, and information that can be analyzed. The bands are merged to form a unified image that incorporates data from all bands. However, current contouring techniques are affected by chromatic aberrations. This study uses intensity-hue-saturation and higher-order statistics to enhance the spatial and spectral information of remote sensing images in combination with segmentation and classification methods. High performance can be shown by implementing edge detection technology to identify objects using structure in Remote Sensing Images (RSI). The parameters used to evaluate the implementation of the proposed edge detection method included root mean square error, correlation coefficient, structural similarity index measure, and the error associated with the mean spectral analysis. The dimensionality of multiband RSI can be reduced based on higher-order data statistics using independent component analysis. Furthermore, images can be clustered using high-resolution panchromatic RSI models. The proposed technique can convert the pixel powers into the sign powers of adjacent higher-order partitions during region segmentation. Pixel intensities can be analyzed using preprocessing techniques such as denoising, which gradually stabilizes the object’s mean value. This method is shown not to impact the original seed level. The research investigates how machine learning algorithms and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies might be combined to solve the crucial problem of separating fresh fruits from damaged apple fruits. Using Internet of Things (IoT) devices with sensors, the system collects extensive data on important characteristics, such as real-time apple picture analysis and available apple database. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and YOLO are two examples of sophisticated machine learning models that are used with this data to accurately classify the apples into different groups according to their quality. This initiative fosters enhanced efficiency, production, and profitability in the agricultural supply chain while providing a sustainable solution to the problems connected with fruit sorting. This study addresses the formidable challenges encountered in automated brain tumor segmentation, including the complexities of irregular shapes, ambiguous boundaries, and intensity variations across MRI modalities. Manual segmentation, plagued by subjectivity and time constraints, further exacerbates the problem. To address these issues, we propose a modified U-Net architecture with an integrated attention gate. The proposed model demonstrates high performance, with notable Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) and Jaccard Index (JI) values across various tumor classes, consistently exceeding 0.93 and 0.87, respectively. Incorporating Contrast-Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization and Histogram Equalization improves segmentation accuracy, particularly in cases of Meningioma. Comparative analyses against established models reveal a DSC of 0.9521 and a JI of 0.9093, underscoring the superiority of our method. Validation in the BraTS 2021 dataset underscores the robustness of the method, achieving high DSC and JI scores in four MRI modalities, with the T2 modality demonstrating the highest performance (DSC: 0.9216, JI: 0.8556). While acknowledging these achievements, we recognize challenges related to dataset specificity and computational intensity associated with the attention gate. Future research efforts should address these issues to improve the generalizability and applicability of the method in real-world scenarios. In addition to presenting a novel automated brain tumor segmentation method, this study contributes comprehensive result values and comparative analyses with previous research, providing valuable insights into the evolving landscape of medical image analysis. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.

Discontinuity in long Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) sequences creates harmful diseases. Changes in the DNA structure refers to changes in the human immunity system. Tuberculosis is a critical disease that causes coughing, fatigue, unintentional weight loss and fever on aged people due to the disorder in the DNA. Breaks or mutations over long DNA sequences are the pivotal reasons for this fatal disease. This study developed an automated machine learning technique to assess the total number of such breaks in the long DNA sequences. Data cleansing and deep neural network techniques are applied to handle this big data. The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database has been used to extract the amino acid sequences for Tuberculosis disease from the big DNA datasets. Results reveal that the proposed automated approach is significantly effective for the determination of DNA sequence breaks for the tuberculosis diseases due to the high sensitivity of Markov chain as well as the effective normalization techniques. This approach fixed the size of the training datasets and recursively divide the whole dataset into certain length. The study also adopts multiple predictions approaches, such as the hidden Markov chain, Box-Cox transformation and linear transformation to forecast about the breaks for any long positions of the training and testing datasets. The results demonstrated that hidden the Markov chain model provided faster analysis with more accurate and reliable results. © Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2018.

In recent years, Digital Twin (DT) has gained significant interestfrom academia and industry due to the advanced in information technology,communication systems, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing (CC),and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The main concept of the DT isto provide a comprehensive tangible, and operational explanation of anyelement, asset, or system. However, it is an extremely dynamic taxonomydeveloping in complexity during the life cycle that produces a massive amountof engendered data and information. Likewise, with the development of AI,digital twins can be redefined and could be a crucial approach to aid theInternet of Things (IoT)-based DT applications for transferring the data andvalue onto the Internet with better decision-making. Therefore, this paperintroduces an efficient DT-based fault diagnosis model based on machinelearning (ML) tools. In this framework, the DT model of the machine isconstructed by creating the simulation model. In the proposed framework,the Genetic algorithm (GA) is used for the optimization task to improvethe classification accuracy. Furthermore, we evaluate the proposed faultdiagnosis framework using performance metrics such as precision, accuracy,F-measure, and recall. The proposed framework is comprehensively examinedusing the triplex pump fault diagnosis. The experimental results demonstratedthat the hybrid GA-ML method gives outstanding results compared to MLmethods like LogisticRegression (LR), Na飗e Bayes (NB), and SupportVectorMachine (SVM). The suggested framework achieves the highest accuracyof 95% for the employed hybrid GA-SVM. The proposed framework willeffectively help industrial operators make an appropriate decision concerningthe fault analysis for IIoT applications in the context of Industry 4.0.
