This paper investigates the results of simulations devoted to the acoustic field variation caused by different boundary conditions applied to the backscattering of the acoustic wave in both low and moderately low frequency ranges. The goal is to analyse the object behaviour and the detection ability of the 2D acoustic field approximations when the simulation data of the scattered sound field is available. The plane waves are backscattered by a dummy human body, positioned in a cabin which has a defined size. The dummy human body is created by using clusters of finite and disjointed but tangent circular cylinders. Each cylinder is a scatterer that emulates various boundary conditions i.e., the scatterers can be sound-soft (Dirichlet boundary condition) and sound-hard scatterers (Neumann boundary condition). The cylinders are filled with biological tissue (i.e., fat). The exterior scattering problem is solved using the preconditioned Krylov subspace iterative solvers (GMRES), as a computationally cheaper alternative. We use the hypothesis that the mass density of the obstacle and wave speed in the obstacle are both constant. During the simulation experiments, we neglected the interactions among scatterers. A frequency range from 100 Hz to 1000 Hz is analysed. Both the Sound Pressure Level (SPL) and Radar Cross Section (RCS) are used to analyse the numerical simulation of the sound field. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

In vehicular networks, the ESCMM model employs software-defined vehicles (SDVN) and Named Data Networks (NDN), which provide an alternative approach to retrieving and communicating content. This model uses cluster heads (CH) as secondary CH mechanisms which are used to reduce transmission delays while maintaining content distribution stability using the SDN controllers. Keeping the network stable and reducing transmission delays is achieved using this dual-channel system. The proposed routing protocol is designed to reduce DSRC traffic and maximize data transmission by categorizing data packets according to the type of application, particularly for video streaming. The model implemented in ns3 with C++ and Python on Ubuntu OS shows significant performance improvements. Compared with existing protocols (MBNV, ONCM, DOCH), ESCMM achieves the highest packet delivery ratio (93%), network throughput 282.12 Kbps, and energy efficiency 586.84 Joules, but also has the lowest average delay 83.25, and road costs 417 parcels. These results highlight the effectiveness of ESCMM model in improvising reliability, efficiency, and resource utilization in Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANET) environments, making it a promising solution for advanced vehicular communication systems.

Nanotechnology is considered as a leading technology in controlling the agricultural process through monitoring with its miniature dimension. It therefore paves way for essential benefits on enhancing the quality and quantity of foods, reducing the input required for agricultural production, full utilization of soil nutrients, etc. The challenges in these models include availability of natural resources, sensing proper nutrients from the soil for crop-specific production, cultivation of crops. Hence, in this paper, various nano-sensors are utilized to increase the crop productivity by analyzing the nutrients present in the soil. The accuracy of acquisition and detection enables what type of crop can be used for cultivation or irrigation. The real-time nano sensors are deployed for absorbing the elements present in the soil that should suit the productivity of crop. The results of simulation using a deep learning detector based on the input from nano-sensors show an improved rate of productivity than state-of-art models. © 2022 IEEE.

Within the realm of smart grids, a power service provider plays a crucial function in coordinating predicted power production with actual power demand in order to support power system stability. Insufficient protection means that, even with these advancements, data sent inside smart grids is still vulnerable to a variety of security risks and assaults. To enhance the security of electronic grid networks, a robust and effective authentication procedure must be put in place. The trouble of ensuring the security of communications among substations and electronic machines stays, even in shrewd lattice settings where SCADA (supervisory controls and data acquisition) frameworks assume a part in shielding associations between the administration place and substations. In this present circumstance, predominant security strategies frequently neglect to accomplish an unpretentious harmony among security and execution. With the expansion of an safe part on the smart machine side, this work incorporates security insurance into a moderation verification framework in view of elliptic bend cryptography. This clever convention handles the requirement for a finely tuned balance between the security and execution parts of shrewd lattices. Key arrangement, common verification, and character security are significant parts of the proposed convention. The convention's viability is upheld by a complete assessment utilizing the Gong-Needham-Yahalom rationale. This procedure is a critical improvement in reinforcing the security position of smart grids, particularly taking into account the continually changing climate of cyber threats and weaknesses.

In order to improve the visual quality of low-resolution video frames, this study introduces a new super-resolution method for real-time video processing that is powered by artificial intelligence. With little computational overhead, the suggested approach uses a hybrid deep learning model to reconstruct high-resolution frames. This model mixes Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) with Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs). The suggested method outperforms state-of-the-art methods by 12.3% in PSNR and 8.7% in SSIM, according to experimental results on benchmark video datasets. The PSNR is 34.56 dB and the SSIM is 0.94. Also, running on a GTX 1080Ti GPU, the system shows an average processing speed of 30 fps, which is great for real-time apps. The suggested strategy is effective in eliminating artifacts, improving visual clarity, and retaining fine details in various real-time video processing contexts, according to both quantitative and qualitative results.

Hierarchical structures are abundant in nature, such as in the superhydrophobic surfaces of lotus leaves and the structural coloration of butterfly wings. They consist of ordered features across multiple size scales, and their unique properties have attracted enormous interest in wide-ranging fields, including energy storage, nanofluidics, and nanophotonics. Femtosecond lasers, capable of inducing various material modifications, have shown promise for manufacturing tailored hierarchical structures. However, existing methods such as multiphoton lithography and 3D printing using nanoparticle-filled inks typically involve polymers and suffer from high process complexity. Here, we demonstrate 3D printing of hierarchical structures in inorganic silicon-rich glass featuring self-forming nanogratings. This approach takes advantage of our finding that femtosecond laser pulses can induce simultaneous multiphoton crosslinking and self-formation of nanogratings in hydrogen silsesquioxane (HSQ). The 3D printing process combines the 3D patterning capability of multiphoton lithography and the efficient generation of periodic structures by the self-formation of nanogratings. We 3D-printed micro-supercapacitors with large surface areas and a remarkable areal capacitance of 1 mF/cm2 at an ultrahigh scan rate of 50 V/s, thereby demonstrating the utility of our 3D printing approach for device applications in emerging fields such as energy storage. Increasingly available ultrastructural data from a continuously growing diversity of experimental conditions are driving new opportunities for fruitful neuroscientific hypotheses tested in intracellular compartments such as the nanoscale roles of, e.g., the mitochondria. Reliable morphological statistics are based on achieving highly accurate semantic segmentations of EM images. The state-of-the-art deep CNNs can be somewhat brittle;they tend to provide coarse and high-frequency-oscillatory solutions with discontinuities and false positives even for simple mitochondria segmentation. Historically, the current state-of-the-art in medical image segmentation would involve some variant of the encoder-decoder architecture, such as the U-Net architecture. The SAM does not perform as well, since it has not been explicitly trained for the task and does not demonstrate user-interactive, over one billion annotations mostly for natural images. However, the SAM may be applied to segment anything, including medical image segmentation challenging new datasets. This work is aimed at the difficult task of implementing domain adaptation in mitochondria segmentation within EM images obtained from various tissues and species, using deep learning. We do a systematic study to assess SAM's ability to perform segmentation in medical images, measure its performance on volumetric EM datasets, and show that it is powerful at segmenting instances even under challenging imaging conditions. We provide a fine-tuning SAM which can be naturally trained by SAM at an exemplary scale, benefiting from a diverse and large dataset over one million image masks in 11 modalities. This model would be able to perform precise segmentation for a wide range of targets under various imaging conditions, at the level of performance of specialized U-Net models, or even better. In this study, an indirect-field-oriented control (IFOC) of an induction motor (IM) was simulated and its speed was estimated using the model reference adaptive system (MRAS) topology of the modified voltage-model-based rotor-flux-oriented current model. As this study dealt with the convolutional neural network (CNN) implemented as the speed controller for the outer-loop control, the inner-loop control used proportional-integral (PI) control to control the current that was fed to the space vector pulse-width modulation (SVPWM) algorithm. The CNN used two inputs based on speed error, and it was designed and trained offline by employing the backpropagation (BP) algorithm to minimize the error between the desired speed and the speed estimated by the estimator and to improve the model's speed-tracking capability when there was an unpredicted speed at the input. The study also used a variable speed trajectory for testing with various speed references to mimic road speed conditions. The results are in good agreement with those of similar studies, and a comparison between the performances of the PI controller and the proposed CNN controller indicated that the CNN controller yielded a superior performance on IM speed.

In this paper, a printed ridge gap waveguide (PRGW) based bow-tie slot antenna loaded with superstrate layers is designed for 5G/6G applications. Three layers of cylindrical shaped superstrate material are cascaded forming dielectric lens shape. These layers cover the antenna slot and used to improve both the antenna gain and bandwidth. To implement these layers, a perforation technique is provided to achieve the equivalent effective dielectric constant surrounding the cylindrical shaped layers. The antenna gain is enhanced by 1.6 dBi through loading the antenna with the lens structure, while the operating bandwidth is almost doubled to be in the range 30.5-39.5 GHz. © 2021 IEEE.
