This paper presents a compact MIMO antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. It is created based on a thin film for an antenna substrate to minimize the antenna thickness, resulting in the antenna being utilized well on a curved surface. The film thickness is about 0.056 mm was used to design and cooperate with the rectangular slot antenna and rectangular stub. In addition, the antenna cover frequency range from 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz with the S11 and S21 below-10 dB and-15 dB, respectively. The antenna will be fed by 50 Ω coplanar waveguide for a transmission line. Moreover, an Envelope Correlation Coefficient (ECC) isn't more than 0.05 throughout the frequency range. The antenna radiation pattern is bidirectional all bands and the maximum gain is 4.6 dBi. The proposed antenna can be applied to the WBAN WPAN and WLAN, UWB communication systems as well. © 2023 IEEE.

This article describes the application of a quasi-frequency selective surface (FSS) reflector to a cross-dipole antenna for a 5G base station communication system. The quasi-FSS is composed of a square patch resonator with a resonance frequency of 1800 MHz and a perfect electric conductor (PEC) that reflects electromagnetic waves of all frequencies. Moreover, it can support and reflect two linear polarizations (±45°) of a dual-band cross-dipole antenna with dual operating frequencies of 700 MHz and 1800 MHz. At 700 MHz and 1800 MHz, the impedance characteristic of the antenna with reflector is approximately 26.83% and 34.86 % for Sll and S22 ≤-10 dB (±45°). The measured peak gain of the antenna is around 5.74 dBi at 775MHz and 11.88 dBi at 1850MHz. With a quasi-FSS reflector, the proposed antenna can also create a directional radiation pattern and facilitate the utilization of a 5G mobile communication base station. © 2023 IEEE.

—The existing literature on cyber-physical threat investigations predominantly concentrates on the high voltage (HV) level, disregarding the higher probability of cyber-attacks and threats targeting low voltage (LV) networks. In the context of smart grids, where millions of interconnected electronic devices span from power generation units to customer interface units through communication networks, the reliability of electrical infrastructure and information security face immediate challenges. This research aims to fill this gap by tracing the impact of various cyber-physical threat scenarios on a realistic LV power distribution network, utilizing simulations conducted with ETAP. Furthermore, this work will present a comprehensive risk assessment of the consequences of cyber-attacks on LV networks, encompassing distributed Energy Resources (DERs). The inclusion of DERs and smart components introduces security vulnerabilities through their remote control and communication capabilities. Although the impact of cyber-attacks on LV networks, typically leading to localized power outages, has received limited investigation, the potential for national consequences remains largely unexplored, especially when a cyber-attack targets a microgrid system. The findings will contribute to the improvement of smart grid systems, and response mechanisms against ongoing attacks. ©2023 IEEE.

Unlike the fifth generation (5G), which is well recognized for network cloudification with micro-service-oriented design, the sixth generation (6G) of networks is directly tied to intelligent network orchestration and management. The Attacks Detection in 6G (AD6Gs) wireless networks created by this research uses a Machine Learning (ML) algorithm. The pre-processing stage of the ML-AD6Gs process is the initial step. The second stage involves the feature selection approach. Correlation Feature Selection algorithm (CFS) is used to implement the suggested hybrid strategy. It selects the best subset feature and reduces dimensionality for each independent analyses of the dataset CICDDOS2019. The voting average method is used as an aggregation step, and two classifiers - Random Forest (RF) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) - are modified to be used as ML Algorithms. The proposed method shown an outperformed the existing classification method. The accuracy was 99.9%% for CICDDOS2019 dataset with a false alarm rate of 0.00102 © 2023 IEEE.

The rapid evolution of the automotive industry, driven by technological innovations and the shift towards sustainability, necessitates a corresponding transformation in educational curricula. This paper presents a detailed examination of the 'Electric Vehicles and Automotive electronics' curriculum at Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University, which has been targeted for modernization under the DIGITRANS project. The project's primary objective is to align the curriculum with the latest industry demands and technological advances, particularly focusing on electric vehicles (EVs) and automotive electronics. This research utilizes a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from industry surveys with qualitative feedback from academic experts and industry stakeholders. The findings highlight significant gaps in the current educational offerings, particularly in areas such as advanced diagnostics, battery management systems, and integration of smart automotive technologies. The paper discusses the development and integration of new course materials that include hands-on laboratory exercises, industry placements, and enhanced e-learning modules. The modernized curriculum aims to equip students with the skills necessary to excel in the fast-evolving automotive sector, emphasizing critical thinking, technical expertise, and practical experience. The outcomes of this research underscore the importance of continuous industry-academia collaboration to keep educational programs relevant and forward-thinking. Mineral oil (MO) has long been utilized in high-voltage power transformers, as a cooling and dielectric medium;because of it is availability as it is extracted from fossil oil. Recently, Gas-To-Liquid (GTL) has a significant increase in use due to its superior performance, its purity and chemical consistency over conventional mineral oils. This paper presents examination of the temperature effects on mineral (Diala S2) and gas to liquid (Diala S4) oil physical properties. Fresh oil and aged oil samples, of the two oil types, have been tested in this paper. Accelerated thermal aging test have been conducted in laboratory to simulate the heat stress experienced by transformers during operation. Three aged oil samples, of the two types of oil, have been prepared in laboratory (3, 6, and 10 days). Density and viscosity measurements were performed on these fresh and aged oil samples. The results concluded that during the initial years, chemical changes cause a minor drop in the density of the mineral oil. Conversely, GTL oil has superior qualities since it stays more stable over time. Over time, the density of both oils exhibits comparable stability, however GTL oil is favored over mineral oil due to its consistency and stability. Diala S4 and Diala S2 oils have higher viscosity, suggesting superior cooling performance before aging. However, Diala S2 dropped to 10.649 mm2/s after three years, indicating its long-term consequences. Diala S4 oil had higher flow efficiency, enhancing transformer cooling and insulating performance within thermal aging. This is due to GTL oil, derived from natural gas, has higher resistance to chemical deterioration, allowing it to sustain its viscosity stability over extended periods. These results emphasize the importance of choosing oils, especially GTL oil type based on their apparent and physical stability over time. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper delves into the challenges of binary classification using imbalanced datasets, particularly when instances of interest are infrequent. It explores a comprehensive approach that integrates Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE), Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), and Variational Autoencoders (VAEs) to enhance classification outcomes. Traditional classification models tend to favor the majority class, while the impact of imbalanced misclassification costs is often overlooked. The integration of SMOTE, GANs, and VAEs in binary classification, or SMOTE-GAN-VAE, addresses these challenges by generating synthetic instances, refining data representations, and capturing latent features. To evaluate the effectiveness of various data generation methods, a credit card fraud dataset is used. The performance metrics considered include F0.5-score, F1-score, and F2-score, which account for both precision and recall. The results indicate that SMOTE-GAN-VAE outperforms individual methods, such as SMOTE, GANs, and VAEs, demonstrating its potential to enhance data representation and classification accuracy, and outperformed the ß- VAE filtered approach employed in previous literature. © 2024 IEEE.

An optimized MCHVD approach to curtail handover failures in wireless networks

The applications of wireless local area networks (WLAN’s) are highly accepted by mobile terminals (MT’s) due to their high transmission bandwidth and reduced costs. However, in such high speed networking platforms, there is a possibility of unnecessary handover failure (UHF) due to limited coverage of WLAN’s. Therefore, the given paper provides a multi-criteria hysteresis vertical handover decision (MCHVD) approach for wireless systems in order to minimize handover failure by analysing and validating its performance with conventional received signal strength (RSS) scheme of source and target cells. Using OPNET simulator, the proposed approach is tested over 60 samples, which are divided equally among networks such as Wi-Fi, Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX), and Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) based on parameters like G power as 0.8, threshold energy limit as 0.05%, and confidence interval as 95%, thereby keeping the maximum accepted error as 0.05 and beta as 0.2. An independent sample T-test is done, which reveals that the probability of handover failure (p) is 0.01 (p < 0.05), which is found to be statistically significant in the MCHVD approach when compared with the conventional RSS scheme. The results show that the handover failure rate for MCHVD is significantly lower than that for conventional RSS-based methods with respect to 20 iterations. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management.

Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme has proved a potential candidate to meet the design challenges of orthogonal multiple access (OMA) schemes. High spectrum efficiency and higher data rates are further achieved by integrating NOMA with multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technology. In this article, we have explored orthogonal space-time block coding (OSTBC) to improve the quality of service (QoS) for the proposed MIMO-NOMA framework. We specifically employed the Alamouti STBC scheme, which provides full diversity for the proposed network. At the transmitter side, OSTBC and power domain multiplexing with superposition coding are utilized, while at the reception side, a low complexity maximum likelihood (ML) detector is used, followed by successive interference cancellation (SIC). Based on bit error rate (BER) evaluations, Monte Carlo simulations are performed to analyze the performance of OSTBC MIMO-NOMA system under various fading channels. The proposed framework is further investigated with a higher modulation scheme and different channel code rates. The investigated Alamouti scheme provides a maximum diversity gain of 2M (M shows the number of receiving antennas) without any need for channel state information at the transmitter end and a less complex ML detector at the receiver end. This research lays the groundwork for designing adaptive modulation and coding methods for future MIMO-NOMA based B5G wireless communication systems. © 2023 IEEE.
