This paper presents the low power magneto-transistor detect magnetic field density in vertical direction. The devices can detect magnetic field by Lorentz force act upon minority carrier in base and difference between base and collector current (ΔI_ (CB)) was occurred. The structure of the low power magnetotransistor consist of one emitter, one collector and one base contact and designed decrease emitter injection area was 5 μm and growth LOCOS oxide around emitter area. The structure was generated and simulated by TCAD Sentuarus simulation package and shows increase sensitivity of the low power magnetotransistor when compare the three terminals magnetotransistor. From the experiment, the low power magnetotransistor can operate at bias current less than 1 mA and high sensitivity is 20.64 mV/T. The device increase sensitivity 2.53 times at bias current 5 mA and decrease power consumption 85% when compare the three terminals magnetotransistor.

Smart hand prosthesis control, based on myoelectric signals, strongly depends on signal processing algorithms. This kind of application field forces specific requirements on computational complexity (for dexterity of prosthesis), processing speed (for fast reaction) and size (for portability). The paper presents a concept of reduction of DFT information extracted from EMG signals. Signals are acquisited from 8 channels with 1 kHz sampling frequency. Specialized digital hardware is proposed, capable of parallel processing of series of signals. The design was implemented in VHDL, verified and synthesized for FPGA. In-house developed floating point arithmetic was applied. Satisfying processing speed was obtained for implementation technique that enable embedding in prosthesis.

The time for new paradigms for pay-per-use road use charging (RUC) has come, and it is still unclear whether or not current Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) supply reliability enough to lead the technological deployment. It is the general belief for RUC stakeholders that GNSS is the most flexible and cost-efficient technology for such a large deployment. However, the German experience of Toll Collect shows that GNSS must be strongly complemented by road side equipments to reach the necessary charging reliability standards. This paper analyzes some significant points of a GNSS-based RUC schemes, with a special emphasis on relevant map-matching issues. This analysis is complemented by our proposals for supporting GNSS with aiding onboard sensors and maps, and discussions about how the charging reliability may result affected by that. The paper finishes with a summary of the most remarkable conclusions achieved in our investigations.

In this paper, a simultaneous miniaturized and harmonics response suppression of square ring resonator based on inductively compensated microstrip parallel-coupled lines is proposed. The proposed topology with simple design equations is demonstrated with the design operating frequency of 0.9 GHz and less than 3.2 dB insertion losses. More than 26 and 22 dB of spurious suppression performance at the 2nd and 3rd harmonics frequencies are obtained from the experimental results.

The paper introduces a confidential region proposed by T. Yamazaki et al., which is equipped with the equivalent dipole source localization software; SinaPointPro (NEC Corporation). This confidence limit is defined on a direction of the radius. This method enables to detect the origin of the epilepsy. And also the paper treats a series of its applications by the present author. The author and his collaborators have recorded electroencephalograms (EEGs) from subjects viewing four types of Kanji and arrows representing directional meaning. Subjects were asked to read them silently. The equivalent current dipole source localization (ECDL) method has been applied to these event related potentials: averaged EEGs. ECDs were localized to the right and left frontal lobes at latency after 500ms in both cases. Polarities of ERPs were also opposite in the case of opposite directions, and the moments of localized ECDs at these latencies were opposite. Pathways of ECDs in silent reading are almost the same in cases of Kanji and arrow. In these cases, no ECD was localized to the Wernike's area and the angler gyrus those are related to the auditory language area, however, ECDs were localized to the Broca's area that is said to be the language area for speech.

In this paper, we propose tunable optical interleaver filters based on the combined Michelson interferometer (MI) and the Gires-Tournois interferometer (GTI) with polarization diversity. The tuning capability is achieved by integrating liquid crystals into the interleaver. In addition to the tunability, it is also shown that the response for this proposed interleaver has a flat-top. Various GTI-MI LC-based interleaver structures are discussed in this paper and their performance, in terms of the flat-top and the pass band ripple, are judged. These structures have the advantages of low operation voltage requirements and design simplicity. A GTI-MI interleaver hasbeen fabricated and tested. The experimental results show that the interleaver has tunable response.

Function Point is a well known established method to estimate the size of software projects. There are several areas of the software engineering in which we can use the function point analysis (FPA) like project planning, project construction, software implementation etc. In this paper we have used the function point approach in order to develop the architecture of the esrcTool. This tool is used for two different purposes, firstly, to estimate the risk in the software and secondly to estimate the cost of the software. In the literature of software engineering there are so many models to estimate the risk in the software like Soft Risk Model, SRAM, SRAEM and so on. But in the esrcTool we have used SRAEM i.e. Software Risk Assessment and Estimation Model, because in this model FP is used as an input variable, and on the other hand side, in order to determine the cost of the software we have used the International Software Benchmarking Standards Group Release Report (ISBSG).

In a wireless ad hoc network, relays are used for passing the data from a source to a sink when the source is too far to reach the sink due to their transmission-range limitation. To evaluate the reliability of data transmission from source s to sink t, this paper proposes a mathematical analysis to calculate the probability of s-t connectedness when there can be failed relays. By using the technique of ordinary generating function, a closed-form solution has been obtained for wireless ad hoc networks with a regular string topology. Based on the obtained formula, numerical examples have been given and a network design paradox has been highlighted. Specifically, increasing the number of relays inappropriately in the wireless ad hoc network with regular string topology may even reduce the probability of s-t connectedness. Careful determination of regular relay placement, where the formula derived herein is applicable, can thus be of most useful in practice.
