Recently, SLAs become an important issue considered in the next generation telecommunication services. The subscriberspsilas perspective drives ISPs eager to support their requirements by offering SLAs across domains. Under deregulatory environment, this paper has adopted a path-classification scheme in order to capture the freedom of policy selection. To prevent selfish path provisioning in the interdomain network, we propose the utility function that includes the penalty term. By means of Nash equilibrium, the equilibrium policy has been found with searching algorithm by applying the modified MSA. We investigate the equilibrium based on the proposed utility functions according to business relationships, namely, peer, wholesale and retail services. The experimental results show that the equilibrium policy leads ISPs to act as non-selfish behavior and to achieve high system performance.

Low-frequency 3-100 kHz shot noise (white noise) emerging from photoinduced current in Mo/n-Si/Mo structures leaving undepleted region has been observed under different bias and optical intensity conditions. The measurements revealed that the current noise observed depends not only on the illumination intensity levels but also on bias voltage. The current noise observed is expressed as S(omega)=2IGamma 2 and analyzed, where I and Gamma 2 is the average current and noise factor, respectively. The measurements reveal that Gamma 2 has strong bias dependence, lying Gamma 2 ~ 0.01 to about unity corresponding to simple shot noise. Such experimental results are explained, stating that the reduction of cross correlation between drift and diffusion currents and autocorrelation of drift current component determining the level of noise occurs with decrease in SCR width bias-dependent. To explain the behavior of observed noise more properly, we propose, in addition to the mechanisms above, that the reduction in autocorrelation effect of each current component plays an important role to decrease the relevant noise to such extremely low levels.

A series of experiments aimed to generate and learn fuzzy models for the valuation of residential premises was conducted using the KEEL tool (Knowledge Extraction based on Evolutionary Learning). Four regression and four post-processing algorithms were applied to several data sets. They referred to sales/purchase transactions of residential premises, which were derived from the cadastral system and the registry of real estate transactions. The results proved the usefulness of the tool to carry out laborious and tedious investigation in a relatively short time. Further research is needed to determine to what extent data coming from such sources allow to build the real estate valuation models. © 2008 IEEE.

This paper presents an implementation of learning laboratory of AC servo drive using the eZdsptrade F2812 digital signal processor (DSP) for undergraduate senior students. Since the electric motor drive is an interdisciplinary course, the students need to sufficiently know several backgrounds such as machines, digital control system, programming, and power electronics. Therefore, the learning laboratory is intended to design both hardware and software as modules. So students would easily learn the hardware implementation of overall system circuit by circuit. Similarly, codes of each functional block are well defined and written by using object oriented programming (OOP) concept. As a result, students can clearly understand the complex control of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) using quadrature encoder pulse (QEP), known as AC servo drive. In this paper, the details of modular hardware and software aspects will be presented along with the experimental results.

CT reconstruction from metal-embedded data usually produces streak artifacts that reduce the quality of the reconstructed images. In this paper, we propose a new technique for metal artifact reduction in cone-beam CT based on statistical reconstruction. First, the metal objects are segmented in the reconstructed images and then reprojected to obtain the measurement data of the metal objects using cone-beam reconstruction. The original measurement data in the metal area are corrected through cubic interpolation. y, the corrected measurement data are reconstructed with the penalized likelihood using the modified convex algorithm. The simulation results show that the reconstructed images of the metal object using the proposed metal artifact reduction technique are superior to conventional filtered backprojection reconstruction.

Storage of energy is one of the main problem of contemporary technology. Currently used manners of the energy store are listed below: (1) the magnetic accumulator - the energy is kept in the magnetic field of superconductive inductor, (2) the accumulator with super capacitors. The low voltage (1,6-2,5 V) is the fault of this one,(3) the accumulator with lead-acid or alkaline accumulator. The fault of this solution is very low charging and discharging efficiency, (4) the electromechanical accumulator. Flywheels store energy mechanically in the form of kinetic energy. In this article the flywheel energy storage will be described precisely and compared with other energy storage technologies.

We present multifield analysis of a MEMS based piezoelectrically actuated valveless micropump with biocompatible polymer membrane materials for drug delivery applications. A three dimensional model of the micropump is built and fluid-structure interface effects have been taken into account infinite element analysis using multifield code coupling method. The dependency of the micropump characteristics on micropump dimensions and membrane and actuator materials is investigated. The analysis predicts that there is a definite relationship between membrane and piezoelectric layer thickness to obtain maximum pump flow. Diffuser geometrical dimensions such as diffuser length, diffuser neck width and diffuser angle play a critical to enhance the performance of the micropump and need to be optimized before fabrication.

In general, image reconstruction from metal-embedded data causes streak artifacts that reduce the quality of the reconstructed image. In this paper, the attempt has been conducted to solve the problem of metal artifacts in cone-beam X-ray CT. The proposed method is applied directly to CT measurement data. First, the metal objects in the reconstructed image are detected and then reprojected to obtain the raw data using cone-beam reconstruction. The missing projections caused by the metal objects are replaced with their surrounding unaffected area through interpolation. Finally, the corrected raw data are reconstructed with the convex algorithm, which is the iterative algorithm for maximizing the likelihood function. The reconstructed images of metal artifact data using statistical reconstruction tends to be superior to conventional filtered backprojection (FBP) reconstruction.

The short-range and near ground measurements of signal attenuation in the UHF band are performed to study radio wave propagation in a car park for a wireless sensor network application. The measurement setup is based on the radio wave propagation along the row of a parking lot (full of cars) by varying heights of server antenna. In the application, a small antenna and a compact antenna are employed at the server antenna and the sensor antenna respectively, by radiating horizontal polarization. The test points are located under cars and above ground. The transmitter is radiated at 433 MHz with 120 cm, 180 cm and 240 cm of antenna height. The propagation models, such as the two-ray model and the free-space model, are compared with measurement results. These results can be used to approximate the signal level in practical planning of wireless sensor network systems in car parks.

Recently, a large number of applications of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) are successfully realized [1] mostly because RF communication equipments are miniaturized. This includes an application of WSN to the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) [2]. Efficient traffic management and control requires that real-time traffic data are collected. Traditionally, traffic data are manually obtained with officials or automatically with bulky wired devices that are difficult to install and maintenance. ITS has changed data collecting process with the use of the computers, communications and sensor technology [3]. Much attempt has focused on replacing conventional devices with WSNs to obtain real-time traffic data is of interest. For example, an unsophisticated practical WSN was proposed to monitor vehicular traffic [4]. This system consists of a number of sensor nodes placed at various locations where traffic data are to be monitored. These sensor nodes communicate to the server node installed nearby via RF frequency. The operating frequency is chosen at 433 MHz (ISM band) in order to avoid much higher demanding traffic in 2.4 GHz and to cover a larger area. As the sensor node can be placed on the road surface to monitor real-time traffic, the sensor node must be small. The antenna at the sensor node is therefore restricted to be of small size and flat structure for convenient installation on the road. The design of our sensor node's antenna is described in another work submitted to the same conference. Fundamentally, the higher mode microstrip antenna [5] can radiate the omnidirectional pattern with vertical polarization, but the size cannot be made small enough to be useful for some low frequency bands. To increase the electrical size with the same overall antenna size, the meander line antenna [6-7] is a suitable candidate. However, the meander line antenna generates dominantly horizontal polarization. Due to small size of sensor node antenna, the gain is relatively low [8-9]
