This paper proposes an application of mixed phase precoding in the MISO (multiple-input, single-output) wireless communications and its concatenation with turbo coding schemes. The principle of this phase precoding is rearranged in the manner of the closed-loop transmitted diversity to reduce the frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channel. Results show that the use of mixed phase precoding in the MISO wireless communication retrieves a lower bit error rate compared to those of related cases of wireless communications.

In the last decade, the effect of Internet usage in education is gradually increased. When we look from academic perspective, the new technologies provided alternatives for students learning. As distance education becomes important everyday, the indispensable elements of teaching and education, laboratories must be reachable via remote connection. Consequently, the education that is going to be given to the students will be more flexible with respect to place and time constraints and students can reach laboratory facilities at any time and anywhere not only in lectures and practical hours. In this study, European remote radio laboratory (ERRL) which is a distance remote radio frequency (RF) laboratory designed for electrical-electronics students, is described generally. The software architecture, infrastructure and experiment that can be done with a remote connection have been described.

In this paper, an implementation of swinging-up and stabilizing controllers for an inverted pendulum on cart is presented. The energy control concept is employed to swing the inverted pendulum up to around the upright position within the assigned switching condition. After that, the stabilizing controller is then switched to stabilize the inverted pendulum at the upright position. The stabilizing controller is a linear servo state feedback controller designed by coefficient diagram method. The experimental results show that the designed controllers can be mutually operated with acceptable efficiency.

In this paper we propose the integrated solution for detection and counterattack the rogue access points. Classification of rogue access point and related risk assessment is analyzed. Rogue detection algorithm is also proposed. Our proposed solution is effective and low cost. It is designed to utilize the existing wireless LAN infrastructure. There is no need to acquire the new RF devices or dedicated wireless detection sensors. The experiments in the real system are demonstrated.

The patterning the contact holes by photolithography process, in this case polysilicon contacts, is the process to produce electrical connection between metal layer and polysilicon gates or metal layer and source/drain. The photolithography process can control size and shape of the contact hole patterns on photoresist before permanently patterned by etching process and then metallization. The contact holes were specified to have the size of 0.8 micron after the photolithography process. In order to achieve this, the process parameters to be considered are exposure energy, focus length of the lens system, and the effect of light reflecting from the film topography underneath. Since in the previous processing step, the attempt to reduce the film topography was done by planarization using BPSG. By adjusting the exposure energy and focus, the optimal condition, to produce 0.8 micron contact holes, was found to be energy of 305 mJ/cm 2 and focus of -1.0 mum.

This paper describes the design and implementation of a 2.4-GHz fully-differential logarithmic amplifier for RF signal power detection. A novel self-bias wideband amplifier without on-chip inductor is employed as a limiting amplifier stage. The proposed logarithmic amplifier is realized and fabricated in a 0.35-mum CMOS technology. Measurement results showed that the circuit achieved 43-dB voltage gain, while drawing 73.5 mA from a single 2.5-V power supply voltage.

This paper presents a method to realize an operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) based adjustable floating resistor. The magnitude of the resulting resistance can be electrically varied by changing the external bias currents of OTAs. The proposed resistor is based on an active network termed ldquodual-output voltage-to-current (DO-V/I) converterrdquo, which is the OTA-based voltage-to-current converter with electronically variable property. The realization method provides both a positive and a negative resistance using the same scheme. The proposed design is attractive in the terms of simple configuration and low cost. In this paper, a voltage controlled current source (VCCS) providing low distortion in output signal and wide output current range is introduced. In order to obtain the high accuracy, the proposed technique employs the designed scheme to connect in feedback loop of the basic VCCS based on second generation current conveyor (CCII). This scheme consists of instrumentation and differential amplifiers and one resistor. The performances of the proposed circuit were studied through the use of PSPICE simulation program. Simulation results are agreed with the expected values.

This article presents a merged three terminals magnetotransistor based on the carrier recombination - deflection effect. This particular magnetotransistor structure relies on the combination of difference of base current and collector current in +x and -x directions. As a result, the output voltage and absolute sensitivity to magnetic field will be double. The structure of magnetotransistor consists of one emitter, two collector and two base contacts. The devices can detect magnetic field in vertical direction (B Z ) by relying on the difference between base current and collector current (DeltaI CB ). From the experiment, with emitter current at 5, 8, and 10 mA, the magnetotransistor had the highest sensitivity of 1.125 mV/mT when emitter current was at 10 mA.
