In this paper a nonlinear controller is presented for doubly-fed induction machine (DFIM) drives. The nonlinear controller is designed based on adaptive input-output feedback linearization control technique, using the fifth order model of induction machine in fixed stator d, q axis reference frames with stator currents and rotor flux components as state variables. The nonlinear controller can perfectly track the torque and flux reference signals inspite of stator and rotor resistance variations. Two level SVM-PWM back-to-back voltage source inverters are employed in the rotor circuit, in order to make the drive system capable of operating in the motoring and generating modes below and above synchronous speed. computer simulation results obtained, confirm the effectiveness and validity of the proposed control approach.

This paper deals in waveform analysis, crosstalk peak and delay estimation of a CMOS gate driven capacitively and inductively coupled interconnect for simultaneously switching inputs. A transmission line based coupled model of interconnect is used for analysis. Peaks and delays at far-end of victim line are estimated for the conditions when the inputs to two coupled interconnects are switching in-phase and out-of-phase. Waveforms are analyzed in general with homogeneous and non-homogeneous drivers for unipolar inputs. Alpha Power Law model of MOS-transistor is used to represent the transistors in CMOS-driver. The comparison of analytically obtained results with SPICE simulations show that the proposed model captures noise peak and their timing; 90% propagation delay; transition time delay and waveform shape with good accuracy.

Recently many studies on ubiquitous computing have been done. In the studies, ubiquitous ID architecture is one of the most important ones. In this study, we propose a new method for connecting to objects with RFTDs through the Internet. At first, we introduce a simple application called "Portable Environment Communicator". We try to apply the proposed method to it. Second, we propose a new name resolver architecture for portable objects, and a new method for selecting the most appropriate wireless base station around the objects, which is connected to the Internet. In the paper, the selection method is carried out using the supper arrangement method, distance field space model, and fuzzy measure theory.

This paper focuses on waveform analysis and crosstalk peak estimation at far-end of victim line for simultaneously switching inputs with resistive drivers. A transmission line based low loss coupled ALC-model of interconnect is used for analytical purpose. Positive and negative peaks are estimated for the conditions when inputs to two coupled interconnects are switching in-phase and out-of-phase. Waveforms are analyzed in general with homogeneous and non-homogeneous drivers for unipolar inputs. The driver is modeled as linear resistance. Comparison of analytical results with SPICE extracted results shows that the error involved is less than 2% and 5% for in-phase and out-of- phase switching respectively. The comparisons of analytically obtained results with SPICE simulations show that the proposed model captures noise peaks and waveform shape quite well.

In recent years, introduction of an alternative energy source such as solar energy is expected. However, insolation is not constant and output of photovoltaic (PV) system is influenced by meteorological conditions. In order to predict the power output for PV system as accurate as possible, it requires method of insolation estimation. In this paper, the authors take the insolation of each month into consideration, and confirm the validity of using neural network to predict one-day-ahead 24 hours insolation by computer simulations. This paper presents a method to measure the semantic relatedness between sentences by using conceptual graph. To compare the sentence meaning, we firstly convert an English sentence into a conceptual graph. Then we employ the conceptual graph operations to match two conceptual graphs of one sentence and another. In matching nodes in the conceptual graphs, we utilize two lexicons i.e. WordNet and VerbNet. All semantic relatedness of contents in concept nodes are computed by using WordNet. The VerbNet is another used to find the semantic relatedness of contents in conceptual relation nodes. By our specified rules, the semantic relatedness between two sentences are objectively scored. We evaluate the performance of the proposed measurement with "Microsoft Research Paraphrase Corpus". The experimental results show the % correctness as 80.00% compared to human judgment. Moreover, we apply the measurement with words sense ambiguity analysis, the proposed measurement yields 76.44% of correctness compared to human judgment.

MISAT is a research and development cluster which will create a small satellite platform based on Micro Systems technology (MST) aiming at innovative space as well as terrestrial applications. MISAT is part of the Dutch MicroNed program which has established a microsystems infrastructure to fully exploit the MST knowledge chain involving public and industrial partners alike. The cluster covers MST-related developments for the spacecraft bus and payload, as well as the satellite architecture. Particular emphasis is given to distributed systems in space to fully exploit the potential of miniaturization for future mission concepts. Examples of current developments are wireless sensor and actuator networks with plug and play characteristics, autonomous digital Sun sensors, re-configurable radio front ends with minimum power consumption, or micro-machined electrostatic accelerometer and gradiometer system for scientific research in fundamental physics as well as geophysics. As a result of MISAT, a first nano-satellite will be launched in 2007 to demonstrate the next generation of Sun sensors, power subsystems and satellite architecture technology. Rapid access to in-orbit technology demonstration and verification will be provided by a series of small satellites. This will include a formation flying mission, which will increasingly rely on MISAT technology to improve functionality and reduce size, mass and power for advanced technology demonstration and novel scientific applications. Fuzzy c-means method (FCM) is a popular tool for a fuzzy data processing. In the current study, a FCM-based method of fuzzy clustering in a kernel space has been implemented. First, a "kernel trick" is applied to the fuzzy c-means algorithm. Then, the new method is employed for a fast automated segmentation of demyelination plaques in Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The clusters in a Gaussian kernel space are analysed in the histogram context and used during the initial classification of the brain tissue. Received classification masks are then used to detect the region of interest, eliminate false positives and label MS lesions.
