There are an increasing number of Narrow Band IoT devices being manufactured as the technology behind them develops *** high co‐channel interference and signal attenuation seen in edge Narrow Band IoT devices make it challenging to guarantee the service quality of these *** maximise the data rate fairness of Narrow Band IoT devices,a multi‐dimensional indoor localisation model is devised,consisting of transmission power,data scheduling,and time slot scheduling,based on a network model that employs non‐orthogonal multiple access via a *** on this network model,the optimisation goal of Narrow Band IoT device data rate ratio fairness is first established by the authors,while taking into account the Narrow Band IoT network:The multidimensional indoor localisation optimisation model of equipment tends to minimize data rate,energy constraints and EH relay energy and data buffer constraints,data scheduling and time slot *** a result,each Narrow Band IoT device's data rate needs are met while the network's overall performance is *** investigate the model's potential for convex optimisation and offer an algorithm for optimising the distribution of multiple resources using the KKT *** current work primarily considers the NOMA Narrow Band IoT network under a single EH ***,the growth of Narrow Band IoT devices also leads to a rise in co‐channel interference,which impacts NOMA's performance *** simulation,the proposed approach is successfully *** improvements have boosted the network's energy efficiency by 44.1%,data rate proportional fairness by 11.9%,and spectrum efficiency by 55.4%.

In this paper, a novel image encryption technique based on chaotic maps is described. Encrypting an image with chaotic maps ensures that the safe cipher characteristics of confusion and diffusion are met. Moreover, chaos-based image cryptosystems have many features compared to the classical cryptographic techniques such as fast, effective security, minimum computing overheads, extremely sensitive to the control parameters and initial settings. These all features make effective encryption techniques with the best performance. Four chaotic maps are used in the proposed scheme to generate the encryption key, initial vector, and ciphering encryption S-Boxes. The maps used are the Chebyshev map, 1D improved quadratic map, 1D Improved Logistic Map and Altered Sine-Logistic based Tent map ASLT. © 2023 IEEE.

Hyperspectral imaging is gaining a significant role in agricultural remote sensing *** data unit is the hyperspectral cube which holds spatial information in two dimensions while spectral band information of each pixel in the third *** classification accuracy of hyperspectral images(HSI)increases significantly by employing both spatial and spectral *** this work,the data was acquired using an airborne hyperspectral imager system which collected HSI in the visible and near-infrared(VNIR)range of 400 to 1000 nm wavelength within 180 spectral *** dataset is collected for nine different crops on agricultural land with a spectral resolution of 3.3 nm wavelength for each *** data was cleaned from geometric distortions and stored with the class labels and annotations of global localization using the inertial navigation *** this study,a unique pixel-based approach was designed to improve the crops'classification accuracy by using the edge-preserving features(EPF)and principal component analysis(PCA)in *** preliminary processing generated the high-dimensional EPF stack by applying the edge-preserving filters on acquired *** the second step,this high dimensional stack was treated with the PCA for dimensionality reduction without losing significant spectral *** resultant feature space(PCA-EPF)demonstrated enhanced class separability for improved crop classification with reduced dimensionality and computational *** support vector machines classifier was employed for multiclass classification of target crops using *** classification performance evaluation was measured in terms of individual class accuracy,overall accuracy,average accuracy,and Cohen kappa *** proposed scheme achieved greater than 90%results for all the performance evaluation *** PCA-EPF proved to be an effective attribute for crop classification using hyperspectral imaging in the VNIR *** proposed scheme

In the current study, tin (Sn) whisker growth was observed on the surface of the SAC0307-SiC composite solder joint. A commercial SAC0307 solder alloys were reinforced with SiC nanophases to produce composite solder joints. SiC nanoparticles and nanowires were mixed with SAC0307 solder paste using the ball milling method. The solder paste was deposited by stencil printing on the test PCBs, and 0805 chip resistors were soldered by IR reflow method. The solder joints facilitated the growth of the Sn whisker through accelerated lifetime tests. The samples were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) every 1000 hours of the test. On the SiC composite solder joints, Sn whiskers and large corrosion spots were observed after 1000 hours of the THB test. In the case of SAC0307 reference samples, only minor corrosion signs were found after 1000 hours of the THB test. The main finding was that the addition of SiC nanophases promoted Sn whisker growth and decreased the corrosion resistance of the composite solder. © 2023 IEEE.

Visitor management is a common activity that happens every day all around the world. Accepting visitors at home or in the office, going to the bank, or visiting a private residential area;some sort of visitor management goes on in all those activities to ensure access control and security. Insecurity is a big challenge that comes with receiving visitors and that is why visitor management is important. Traditionally, visitor management is handled physically by recording visitors’ information into a log book and asking visitors to contact their hosts before gaining access to a secured environment but this process is time-consuming and the visitor’s record is exposed to exploitation. Automated Visitor Management Systems (VMS) overcome the shortcomings of the traditional method of visitor management. VMS automates the process of recording visitors’ information, keeping a log of all visits, and ensuring some sort of access control or visitor authentication just in case of an imposter or if anything ever goes wrong. This study aims to design and model a flexible Mobile Visitor Management system that can be used to record visitors’ information and authenticate visitors for access control purposes. The study was achieved using Figma software to design and prototype the system and then using React Native and SQLite for the development of the system. The system has proven to be more convenient than the common traditional way of recording visitors’ information into a physical log book. The system protects its users from loss of information, waste of time, and insecurity. The flexible and inexpensive nature of the system makes it adaptable to almost any organization or property owner, this gives the general public a great opportunity to try out Visitor Management technology. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Large Language Models (LLMs) often face challenges in generating accurate and reliable information, particularly in knowledge-intensive tasks. This limitation, referred to as hallucination, occurs when models produce content that is incorrect, irrelevant, or unsupported by evidence. Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions provide a promising approach by integrating relevant external knowledge, enabling models to generate factually grounded responses. This study evaluates the performance of a base LLM model, a fine-tuned DistilBERT model, and two RAG architectures, Naïve RAG and Graph RAG, to study their impact on reducing hallucinations and enhancing contextual understanding. Using subsets of HaluEval, Squad-V2, and TriviaQA benchmark datasets, the base model achieved accuracies of 10.18%, 12.67%, and 5.46% respectively; Naive RAG resulted in 44.56%, 19.04%, and 35.32% accuracies; while the fine-tuned LLM model's accuracies were 72.5%, 72.31%, and 88.7% respectively. Graph RAG resulted in 8.85% and 15.12% accuracies using Squad-V2 and TriviaQA, respectively. Our findings show that while fine-tuned LLMs outperform baseline models, incorporating RAG solutions did not result in significant performance improvements, suggesting that the incorporation of external knowledge may not always align with the needs of the task. Experiments demonstrate that Graph RAG handles complex queries by leveraging relationships within structured knowledge graphs. Data organized as a knowledge graph may enable Graph RAG solutions reach their full potential by utilizing their capacity to efficiently retrieve contextually relevant information. Although computing complexity remains a restriction, this study shows that RAG topologies might not consistently enhance LLM reliability in practical situations.

The evolution of healthcare systems worldwide necessitates continual improvement in hospital management practices, particularly pharmaceutical management. This paper explores transforming traditional pharmaceutical management systems in large and medium-sized hospitals in Thailand into smart systems using Value Stream Mapping (VSM) as a guiding tool. Traditional systems often face challenges such as inefficiencies and medication errors. VSM, rooted in lean management principles, offers a structured approach to visualize and optimize processes. Additionally, smart technologies like automated inventory systems and electronic health records enhance pharmaceutical management effectiveness. Through a comprehensive research methodology encompassing case studies, data collection, and VSM analysis, this study identifies inefficiencies and proposes evidence-based strategies for improvement. Results from a case study highlight the benefits of VSM implementation in enhancing pharmacy operations, emphasizing improved patient care and operational efficiency. The implementation of a smart medication dispensing system shows promising results in reducing workload and accommodating increased patient arrivals. Continued evaluation and refinement are crucial for maximizing benefits and addressing emerging challenges effectively. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.
