Automation is more important now. This article focuses on automating chicken farms using mobile communication devices and wireless sensor networks. Chicken is the world's most popular food because it contains more protein, less fat, and less cholesterol than other poultry. Chicken's nutrition is another benefit. This project utilizes the Internet of Things to monitor and adjust chicken farm environmental conditions. Temperature, moisture, water level, ammonia gas, and waste level were considered. This research aimed to improve chicken farm chick growth. The individual also monitors chicken behavior and feeding. Another usage for the sensor module is water level management and monitoring. If all sensors are connected to the microcontroller, all sensor data may be gathered. After that, a Wi-Fi module uploads the data to a website. A computer or mobile device connected to the internet allows the poultry farm owner to examine its interior surroundings. This informs the owner on agricultural conditions. This system will maintain temperature, humidity, and water level without human intervention using a DC motor, ventilation window, and co-exhaust fan. This will be done without human intervention. Devices will activate as needed when threshold values are attained. Our method allows semi-automated chicken product production and bird behavior monitoring. This allows us to deliver nutritious chicken meat while reducing bird killing.

Enhancing efficiency and power quality (PQ) in electric vehicle (EV) charging systems depends on power factor correction (PFC) interleaved boost converters (IBC). Traditional methods to assess current ripple produce misleading results which leads to decreased system performance and increased power losses. This research presents the Crested Porcupine Optimizer (CPO) as a novel solution for intelligent current ripple estimation in electric vehicle charging systems to overcome existing method limitations. The main goal consists of minimizing ripple formation while also reducing Total Harmonic Distortions (THD). The Proportional-Integral (PI) controller gain parameter optimization occurs through CPO processing which raises the converter performance standards. The proposed solution implemented on MATLAB while evaluated performance with Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Bald Eagle Search Optimization (BESO) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). Results show the CPO approach delivers THD at 0.99% which supports effective harmonic suppression to enhance PQ for EV chargers. The evaluation demonstrates that CPO successfully enhances the current ripple estimation capability to improve PFC IBC system operations in EV charging applications.

This article aims to highlight the role of layers deposited on solar cells. By depositing different materials, the energy efficiency of the solar cells can be increased or decreased. In order to quantify how much the efficiency of a solar cell increases or decreases depending on the deposited layers, a hardware system is proposed to acquire specific parameters depending on different operating scenarios: solar radiation level, temperature, value of the load connected to the solar cell output. The solar cells to be analyzed will be covered with nanostructured layers that have different sizes and concentrations of material. © 2022 IEEE.

In healthcare systems, wound care management is essential for reducing infections and promoting faster recovery. To improve wound care, this paper proposes a data-driven method that combines machine learning (ML), more particularly, Logistic Regression (LR), with Internet of Things (IoT) sensors to identify early infections. The system provides real-time data streams to healthcare providers by continually monitoring important wound parameters, including temperature, moisture, pH levels, and exudate presence via IoT-enabled sensors. Using LR, the system predicts the potential of wound infections based on these physiological indicators, allowing for more effective patient care and early treatments. When tested for accuracy and dependability in infection prediction, the proposed model shows significant detection skills with few false positives. This approach optimizes clinical processes by reducing the need for manual wound examination, enhancing patient safety, and lowering the possibility of complications from infections. Wound care management might improve patient outcomes and expedite infection control measures in medical institutions. © 2024 IEEE.

University websites are important mediums of communication that make important information accessible to the stakeholders of university websites. A good user experience of these websites brings the broader population to these websites. Evaluating the usability of university websites is important because it finds possible usability problems. In this regard, this research discusses the experience of the usability evaluation of three official websites of the universities of Pakistan i.e., Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), University of Karachi (UoK), and Islamia University, Bahawalpur (IUB) by employing user testing method using thinking aloud approach. The findings of the usability tests are summarized using three measures named effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. The results reflect that the LUMS website scores higher in all three discussed measures. UoK and IUB both have the same effectiveness rating. The UoK website is less efficient than the IUB website, though. Finally, in satisfaction scores, users of the UoK website scored higher as compared to the IUB website. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper proposes a smart farm system, applying to cultivate mitragyna speciosa plants in Thailand. The greenhouse system with several sensors, microcontroller, and cultivation devices has been designed. The temperature, light intensity and moisture in the area of cultivation can be measured and the microcontroller has been used to read all data and then they are shown through the website. The cultivation data have been processed and then used for controlling temperature, light intensity and moisture inside the greenhouse. The proposed system is very effective, that the temperature values, light intensity, and humidity can be monthly, daily and hourly viewed and displayed on the computer and smartphone. When the proposed system has been applied for cultivating mitragyna speciose, the better growth results have been found comparing with the traditional cultivation.

The amount of data generated daily grows tremendously in virtually all domains of science and industry, and its efficient storage, processing and analysis pose significant practical challenges nowadays. To automate the process of extracting useful insights from raw data, numerous supervised machine learning algorithms have been researched so far. They benefit from annotated training sets which are fed to the training routine which elaborates a model that is further deployed for a specific task. The process of capturing real-world data may lead to acquring noisy observations, ultimately affecting the models trained from such data. The impact of the label noise is, however, under-researched, and the robustness of classic learners against such noise remains unclear. We tackle this research gap and not only thoroughly investigate the classification capabilities of an array of widely-adopted machine learning models over a variety of contamination scenarios, but also suggest new metrics that could be utilized to quantify such models’ robustness. Our extensive computational experiments shed more light on the impact of training set contamination on the operational behavior of supervised learners. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Fuel-cell (FC) vehicles are attracting much interest due to their advantages. In FC-powered vehicles, the application of DC/DC converters is for interfacing between the FC and the DC bus. Due to some of the inherent characteristics of FCs, such as large variations in the output voltage, efficiency improvement for different operation points is vital for optimal performance. Moreover, the bidirectional operation can be useful, for example, to charge supercapacitors in electric vehicles (EVs). In this article, the role of a DC/DC converter is as part of the interface system, and efficiency analysis is performed for an EV application. The design and application of the DC/DC converter are optimised based on the EV application's use case scenario. First, the converter's efficiency is analysed for a range of switching frequencies, input voltages, and duty cycles, with basic operations considered later. All the required relations and operating conditions are explained, and simulation results confirm the theoretical analysis. © 2022 IEEE.

The subject of this paper is sequential decomposition algorithms. They are applied to graph models of various sizes. A study of their speed and applicability was made with software applications developed for the purpose. The obtained results are presented in tabular and graphical form. Conclusions have been made about their applicability in the design automation of circuit and systems.
