This work outlines the development and evaluation of reflectarray antenna unit cells that resonate at a frequency of 28 GHz designed for mm-wave 5G communication systems. The study explores the use of various element forms as the unit cell design and analysis process. The research seeks to enhance the performance of the antenna by examining the impact of different parameters on bandwidth, reflection loss, and reflection phase characteristics. It has been demonstrated that the reflection loss can be used to characterize the reflectarray loss and bandwidth properties while the phase curves can be used for the analysis of phase errors as well as bandwidth of reflectarray antennas. Moreover, the study also provides a technique to obtain progressive phase distribution which is required to transform the unit cells into a periodic array.

Quaternion algebra has been used to apply the fractional Fourier transform(FrFT)to color images in a comprehensive ***,the discrete fractional random transform(DFRNT)with adequate basic randomness remains to be *** paper presents a novel multistage privacy system for color medical images based on discrete quaternion fractional Fourier transform(DQFrFT)watermarking and three-dimensional chaotic logistic map(3D-CLM)***,we describe quaternion DFRNT(QDFRNT),which generalizes DFRNT to handle quaternion signals effectively,and then use QDFRNT to perform color medical image adaptive *** efficiently evaluate QDFRNT,this study derives the relationship between the QDFRNT of a quaternion signal and the four components of the DFRNT ***,it uses the human vision system's(HVS)masking qualities of edge,texture,and color tone immediately from the color host image to adaptively modify the watermark strength for each block in the color medical image using the QDFRNT-based adaptive watermarking and support vector machine(SVM)*** limitations of watermark embedding are also explained to conserve watermarking ***,3D-CLM encryption is employed to improve the system's security and efficiency,allowing it to be used as a multistage privacy *** proposed security system is effective against many types of channel noise attacks,according to simulation results.

A JOINT DATA COMPRESSION AND TIME-DELAY ESTIMATION METHOD FOR DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS VIA EXTREMUM ENCODING

Motivated by the proliferation of mobile devices, we consider a basic form of the ubiquitous problem of time-delay estimation (TDE), but with communication constraints between two non co-located sensors. In this setting, when joint processing of the received signals is not possible, a compression technique that is tailored to TDE is desirable. For our basic TDE formulation, we develop such a joint compression-estimation strategy based on the notion of what we term "extremum encoding", whereby we send the index of the maximum of a finite-length time-series from one sensor to another. Subsequent joint processing of the encoded message with locally observed data gives rise to our proposed time-delay "maximum-index"-based estimator. We derive an exponentially tight upper bound on its error probability, establishing its consistency with respect to the number of transmitted bits. We further validate our analysis via simulations, and comment on potential extensions and generalizations of the basic methodology. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Cardiac arrest happens when the heart stops beating suddenly, hence, blood stops flowing to the brain and other vital organs. The lack of blood flow to the brain and other organs can cause a person to lose consciousness, become disabled or die if not treated immediately. Restoring heart rhythm can happen by delivering an electrical shock to the patient through the chest wall. With the increase of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) the need for Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) increases. AED is a portable device used to restore normal heart rhythm to patients by delivering an electric shock through the chest to the heart when it detects an abnormal rhythm. It is easy-to-use medical device that can be used by normal person. It analyzes the heart's rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart regain its normal rhythm. In this paper we present a low cost and light weight circuit for mobile Automatic External Defibrillator. © 2023 IEEE.

Hybrid optimization for integration of renewable energy systems into smart grids

The significant increase in the human population, energy consumption in daily living is increasing. One approach is to raise the amount of power produced to match the growth in human population, although this is typically practically unfeasible. By controlling demand, electricity consumption and associated expenses may be reduced. As a consequence, we employ Demand-side Management (DSM) to plan different gadgets on loads to reduce energy usage. Incorporating renewable energy sources and reducing energy costs are two significant roles that the smart grid plays. As a result, we suggest a hybrid swarm based Harris Hawks' optimization (S–HHO) algorithm to overcome the optimization difficulties. The suggested approach includes loads of home and business variety. The proposed technique was compared to binary particle swarm optimization (BPSO), multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO), wind driven optimization (WDO), and multi-objective genetic algorithms (MOGA). Results from simulations were produced using MATLAB software. The results show that the improved hybrid optimization S–HHO reduces the Peak-to-average ratio (PAR) and computational time better than other methods such as WDO, BPSO, MOPSO, and MOGA. © 2024 The Authors

This paper details the integration of augmented reality (AR) in a new factory, focusing on enhancing maintenance efficiency and optimization. The innovative approach involves combining AR technology, an Android application, and Siemens PLCs (Programmable Logic Controller), for efficient automation. The robustness of the PLC enables seamless integration within manufacturing environments, accommodating diverse programming paradigms. Continuous development is suggested through the addition of more 3D mechanical drawings and real-time stock information for parts in the application, aiming for future optimization and performance enhancement.

In recent years, the imperative need for efficient energy utilization in residential buildings has become increasingly evident due to the unwarranted wastage of electrical energy. This has spurred significant interest in optimizing energy consumption while maintaining user comfort. Accurate energy prediction is a crucial component of this optimization. This study focus on minimizing energy consumption by accurately predicting it through advanced Machine Learning (ML) models and optimization techniques. The study begins with the collection of energy data from a reliable source, Kaggle, comprising 29 features. To streamline the dataset, unnecessary features are discarded, and data normalization is performed to ensure consistency and reliability. Subsequently, ML models, specifically Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), are designed and optimized through the Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) to fine-tune hyperparameters. The prediction results are evaluated using error values to assess the accuracy and reliability of the models. Notably, our findings indicate that the GWO-LSTM model outperforms the others, exhibiting minimal errors and therefore showcasing its superior predictive capabilities. Accurate energy prediction not only serves as a valuable tool in its own right but also plays a pivotal role in enabling proactive energy management. By accurately forecasting future energy requirements, it becomes possible to optimize energy consumption further. Such precision paves the way for intelligent scheduling of home appliances, which, in turn, leads to significant reductions in energy consumption.

In this paper, we investigate the physical layer security of a cognitive relay network while considering joint constraints involving multiple primary users (PUs) and secondary users (SUs). Specifically, we address the scenario in which eavesdroppers attempt to exploit the confidential information of multiple PUs by monitoring multiple frequency bands. To make use of the licensed spectrum belonging to the PUs, SUs must adopt reasonable power allocation policies and frequency band selection strategies. These strategies serve not only to enhance their own performance but also to safeguard the PUs against eavesdropping. We introduce the concept of packet timeout and derive adaptive transmit power allocation policies for both the secondary transmitter (SU-Tx) and the secondary relay (SR). Additionally, we provide expressions for both the upper and lower bounds of the end-to-end packet timeout probability, which are used to assess the performance of the system under consideration. Finally, we present numerical results that explore the impact of various factors, such as the selected licensed frequency band, transmit power of the PUs, and channel mean powers, on the end-to-end packet timeout probability. © 2023 ACM.

This paper presents the design of an Antipodal Vivaldi Antenna (AVA) including open elliptical stubs on either side to improve impedance matching at lower frequencies. The stubs further serve as reflectors at 300 MHz, significantly enhancing the antenna gain across the specified frequency ranges. The Antipodal Vivaldi Antenna, measuring 552 × 700 × 1.6 mm 3 , is analyzed and evaluated to determine its characteristics. It possesses ultra-wideband characteristics, providing it suitable for signal exploration systems, and operates effectively throughout the 298–3000 MHz frequency range, which corresponds to the frequencies utilized by GPR technology. The suggested antenna demonstrates directed radiation patterns at all operational frequencies, achieving an average gain of 8.5 dBi.

Theft of electricity is a major problem that causes financial losses and inconsistent service for paying consumers for power distribution companies all over the world. The safety of the power grid depends on the ability to identify and stop electricity theft. The use of deep learning techniques has shown great promise in recent years, particularly in the areas of computer vision and natural language processing. This study recommends a random forest-based ensemble deep learning method for identifying cases of electricity theft. The proposed ensemble deep learning model leverages the best features of many kinds of deep learning architectures, including stacked Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN)and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). Each architecture has its own strengths when it comes to monitoring normal and abnormal electrical use for signs of theft. The final forecast is derived by adding together the predictions of the different models in the random forest ensemble. The ensemble model is trained using a massive dataset of energy usage records and theft information. Information about consumption patterns is extracted using feature engineering methods once the dataset has been preprocessed to get rid of noise and outliers. This preprocessed dataset is used to train the ensemble model, which then optimizes its parameters to reduce prediction errors. We use many measures, including accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, to assess the proposed ensemble deep learning model's performance. Experiments are run against both conventional machine learning methods and standalone deep learning models to prove that the ensemble method is superior. The findings demonstrate that the ensemble model is more accurate and has a greater detection rate, making it suitable for spotting energy theft. © 2023 IEEE.
